Chapter 133 - Chapter 69: The Reunion Movement (Just kidding)

Chapter 69: The Reunion Movement (Just kidding)

Because Ryanne had specifically instructed that the dry and wet medicinal ingredients should not be mixed, Yoshikage Kira found a nine-sectioned box with a lid and placed one type of herb in each compartment.

Ryanne opened the box and nodded in satisfaction. Then, wearing gloves, she took out a portion of herbs, tossed them into a small grinder, and pulverized them into a fine powder. She then poured the powder from the spout into a small bottle.

She processed the remaining herbs in the same fashion.

Nodding in satisfaction, a green light emanated from her hands. She took a spoon and, in a specific order, poured the powdered herbs into a small pot to heat and stir them.

After being stirred, the materials in the pot evaporated with incredible speed, leaving only a few milliliters of liquid behind. Ryanne poured this into an empty vial and drew the concoction into a small syringe.

Midoriya, who had been given an anesthetic by Ryanne after he had woken up, couldn't feel much pain now, just a slight numbness. His face twitched. "Dr. Ryanne... are you sure a potion made with such a crude method can actually heal me...?"

The fact that the syringe was a normal size was a relief, but setting aside the simple equipment, the ingredients alone were hard for any normal person to accept.

Can you imagine the feeling of a black squid screaming in front of you as it's ground up alive, then turned into black ink and injected into your body?

"Don't you worry! Since I'm the one who caused your injury, I have to take responsibility for your body!" Ryanne said with complete confidence.

"Dr. Ryanne...!" Tears of gratitude streamed down Midoriya's face. Even though I was the one who stubbornly pushed my body to this state, she's saying she'll take responsibility... She really is a goddess!

Midoriya grit his teeth and watched as Yoshikage Kira removed the bandages from his arm, then watched as the jet-black liquid was injected into his vein.

Two minutes passed. Midoriya let out a sigh of relief. His body didn't seem to be having any adverse reactions. The effect of the anesthetic gradually wore off, and Midoriya felt that he could control his arm again.

He tried to move his fingers first. Seeing them respond, he then made a fist and found that his hand could move too.

"Dr. Ryanne, my arm can move!"

Midoriya smiled in delight. He tried to use his arm to push himself into a sitting position, but he couldn't put any weight on it. His body tilted to the side, and he ended up with his face pressed against the bed, looking sideways at Kira and the others.

Why is this happening...? Midoriya twisted his face to look at his out-of-place left arm. He saw that it had ignored all bones and joints, as if it were a mollusk's limb. His palm was bent back 180 degrees to face him, and his arm was curved like an octopus's tentacle.

Midoriya's smile froze.

"Ryanne?"

Kira silently turned to face her. This arm, which looked like it had been taken over by a Parasite, was her doing. She needed to give both him and Midoriya an explanation.

"Ahem." Ryanne coughed awkwardly. "It's probably because the ingredients weren't old enough, or maybe the equipment wasn't sterilized. The potion didn't have its intended effect."

Are you kidding me with my life!? In that moment, Ryanne, with her slightly shy and flirtatious expression, was no angel in Midoriya's eyes. She was a devil, a witch.

Even Recovery Girl looked troubled. "Without this potion, we would just need to perform surgery to remove the bone fragments, and you would have recovered, at most with some lingering side effects. But now..."

Although Recovery Girl knew Ryanne's methods were a bit chaotic, she had never done anything truly out of line before. Each time, she had managed to heal the patient in a way that exceeded her own expectations. So she had had a great deal of confidence in her.

But now... she was somewhat glad that All Might wasn't here. If his successor was ruined because of her granddaughter's recklessness, he would never be able to handle the blow.

Is it really impossible to heal? Yoshikage Kira suddenly noticed that while Ryanne had an apologetic look on her face, she was actually hiding a sly smile. A thought occurred to him. He walked over, took Midoriya's boneless-looking left arm, and began to scan his body with Hamon.

Am I going to have to live my whole life with this long, bendy arm...? Midoriya's despair didn't last long, as he had already begun to consider the combat applications of such a limb.

"It's fine. Midoriya's injury can be healed," he suddenly heard Kira say. Midoriya, who had just concluded that this new arm might actually be better in a real fight, suddenly deflated. He buried his head in his blanket with a wry smile.

If it can be healed, why do I feel a little disappointed?

"My Hamon can be conducted through living things, and that includes bones. But under normal circumstances, bones are a single, solid piece. Even with Hamon, the most it can do is strengthen them. But Midoriya is different."

Kira, a little puzzled by Midoriya's lack of enthusiasm, continued, "He has a comminuted fracture, and his arm can move like a mollusk's. When my Hamon is conducted through his body, it can act like a magnetic force, pulling the shattered pieces of his bones back together in their original alignment."

"As long as the bones are re-integrated, Midoriya's arm won't be twisted anymore, right?" Kira asked Ryanne.

She sighed with a hint of disappointment, but still said, "The potion has a time limit. It was injected directly into his vein, so it spread quickly. But if he had just drunk it, the effect would have only lasted a few minutes before he returned to normal."

No wonder she wasn't worried about any permanent side effects. It was a temporary effect... Wait, doesn't that make it just like a special potion from a video game? Can she make potions with different effects?

"Midoriya, I'm starting now."

Seeing Midoriya nod, Kira gripped his arm without hesitation. After a brief, scattered burst of light, the Hamon's glow subsided, sinking deep into Midoriya's body.

In a place no one could see, the bone fragments inside Midoriya's body were originally swimming about like fish in his twisted arm. Suddenly, a golden ripple of Hamon appeared in the darkness. Under the Hamon's guidance, the numerous fragments, as if they had found their leader, began to move in an orderly fashion back towards their original home.

Along the way, familiar fragments would join together, forming small groups. In the end, their groups grew larger and larger until they became a single, tightly connected, inseparable whole, returning once more to their proper place.

The black calamity, under the illumination of the golden light, gradually disappeared, retreating into a deep corner. Their home was rebuilt, returning once more to its streamlined, castle-like form.

Afterward, others no longer looked at them with strange eyes. These once-wandering people were once again accepted by the world. Although calamities would still appear from time to time, they always stood together in unity.

From the bottom of their hearts, they were grateful for the impact this movement had on their world. And so, they called this movement... the Reunion Movement.
