Chapter 1 - The Asuras

Nelson smiled darkly, his body moving through the alley like a skilled ninja.

When had the Asuras ever failed in their missions?

Never!

And today wasn't going to be an exception. Under the rain, his body blended in stealth, agility and mobility. He was never restricted by any natural or supernatural force.

But the person he was up against is obviously nothing ordinary so he had taken his time to prepare… just enough to take him out.

Nelson William is a native of Country V… and inside country V was a small town city. Dcity is what was used to know it. Right from childhood, Nelson was isolated from other children… people rather because, rumors were, the day he lost his parents in a fire accident, he didn't cry. He didn't ask about them and never spoke about them.

Now people thought he was weird… a nerd who had no friend, who speaks to himself like a crazy bitch. But then that same crazy bitch was invited by a cult group of boys called the Asuras.

The Asuras is in and of itself an organization where the members take missions to get rewards or an upgrade in their ranks as Asuras. What they mostly do is unraveling mysteries, getting involved in murder cases… and also committing the same crime of murder, just that the trail had never been pointed at them.

That was what Nelson had been for a long twelve years of his life after being isolated.

Let's just say… Nelson is considered a menacing lunatic… sometimes, he was sane and sometimes, insane or a balance between the two. That is exactly how Nelson had completed his missions and become a Tier 3 Assassin.

Right now, he was being given a Tier 5 mission with promises of being upgraded to a Tier 5 assassin if he passed that mission.

'A tempting offer indeed.'

'I could become one of the greatest… one of the highest ranking assassins in Asura. Those feeble things will have no other option but to worship me.'

The power that came with higher ranks is what he sought. That might even give him the respect that he'd yearned for years now so, this mission… he accepted it.

Mission Class: – Tier 5

Mission Reward: – Upgrade to Tier 5

Mission Target: – Elias Vorn

Mission Subject: – Kill Elias Vorn!

Nelson tilted his body under the rain, completely dodging a vehicle that sped past him, splashing rain water on him.

Ignoring the nuisance, he continued.

Who was Elias Vorn?

As a Tier 5 mission, the Target in question is not supposed to be ordinary. Dcity had all kind of strange legend and phenomenons of humans having cosmic laws that they uses to bend the world to their will and this Elias is evidently one of them.

Nelson would have liked not to mess with a man like Elias especially when he's a crazy-bitch ass like himself. For example, crazy and crazy understand themselves better so there's probably nothing he might try to do that Elias wouldn't figure out which makes him ahead of Nelson because… he had a cosmic law that has to do with gravity.

Before a mission is accepted, the head of Asuras will explain in detail the target's power and weakness… where he excelled at… where he lacked which means that Nelson is well aware of his weaknesses and his strengths.

That is probably what had him preparing for weeks and even months until this very day.

Nelson stared at the departing vehicle that splashed water on him and he snickered… "Will get onto your case later."

Then he dashed into the corners of two huge buildings and disappeared…

Finally, he was before the great shed bearing Elias Vorn's insignia, 'EV' just at the top. Surprisingly, both doors were opened wide, almost like the man himself expected his arrival.

'Did he??'

Nelson gulped feeling very wary to step in… realising that this was a trap for him, and yet had no other choice but to step in.

Nelson entered the shed and the moment he did, the doors were shut closed with a deafening bang. Nelson turned sharply towards the door, staring deeply at where reality seemed to twist, like the force of gravity was being applied horizontally instead of vertically downward.

He turned forward staring fearlessly at a man figure wearing a black hat, covered in an overall body suit.

"I've been waiting for you."

He said in a cold and detached tone.

'Of course he's been waiting.'

Then Nelson's eyes flickered, daring and full of amusement.

"So I'm your guest then. Shouldn't I be treated well?"

The man wore a crazy smile on his face that wasn't human-like. It was the kind one would see after a homicide has been committed.

"Nelson William, Asura's third tier assassin planning to kill me. Do you know what I am or the weapon I carry?"

Nelson didn't look bothered, walking towards a bookshelf and going all handsy with the books on it.

"That weapon is gravity, am I correct?"

Elias' eyes flickered dangerously.

It was a flash of bloodlust.

"I guess the Asuras are well informed about their targets, aren't they?"
