Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Carlos became irrational after a few minutes of the seers not appearing. Rising to his feet, he crossed his arms and paced the room.

"Great! Now we're stuck in your kingdom with no seers showing up. Aren't you just nothing but a show off?" Carlos said to Xavier, his face held a mixture of anger, impatience, and worry.

Xavier, who was more muscular, scoffed and walked up to Carlos with an intimidating stare. His muscles strained against his shirt with his loose buttons exposing his hairy chest, making him look like a sexy god.

"You weren't interested in her as your mate. You only decide to claim her as yours out of the blue because you want to wage war against me and the Werewolves,"

With a vile look on his face, Carlos spoke aggressively.

Xavier smiled and responded, "Your confidence never ceases to amaze me. I do love your false claims, little friend. I believe you're aware of the rule when I order for a selection. My mate is an omega according to the moon goddess and it's none other than her."

"She lives in my pack and that shows that I'm the rightful one for her and not you. Perhaps it was just your misfortune to never be able to get rid of your curse, meaning that you, having a mate, is not in your destiny, so why don't you back out and let me have her."

Carlos emphasized, clenching his fist, and I grabbed their entire attention by getting off the bed.

"That's it!" I yelled and ended with a sigh.

"If you just want to keep fighting then I'm only left with no choice than…

"To reject you all."

Their eyes widened and their jaws dropped after hearing my statement.

I nodded slightly, trying to keep my confidence as I walked up to them.

Carlos's blue eyes widened as he processed what he had just heard. After all of his efforts to get me back, he must have been surprised that I could say such a thing.

"No! You can't do this to me, Camelia. We are meant to be together. We have a bond and you do feel it. I was just being a fool back then, picking Phoebe over you." Carlos admitted, his voice tinged with regret.

"Ttch! So this fool once rejected you and chose someone over you? How ridiculous and stupid of him!" Xavier said with a sly smirk and I could see Carlos's brows furrowing in anger as he glanced at him.

"It's none of your business, Xavier. I already settled things with her." Carlos shot back at Xavier, he then grabbed me, and pulled me gently to his side.

He raised my chin and looked into my emerald eyes before saying, "I am deeply sorry for rejecting you then Camelia. If I could go back in time, I would have corrected all of my actions. I would have stopped you from being selected as one of Xavier's mates. I never knew things would turn out like this. I am so sorry."

I sighed and before I could reply, I felt a hand dragged me from behind.

I was firmly within Lycan Xavier's clutches.

He hugged me close, like he was shielding me from harm.

He gave me a seductive glance before giving Carlos a fierce stare.

"Don't try to win her heart by apologizing for the things you did. She is solely mine."

"Aren't you, Mate?" Xavier muttered to me, his dreamy eyes held mine in their grasp and he smelled somewhat musky and woodsy, with a tinge of chocolate and lavender.

Carlos yanked me away from him and hugged me firmly. "I won't let him harm you, Camelia. He's nothing but a beast even as he appears to be in his human form."

Before Xavier could snatch me from Carlos again, Desmond gripped his arm from behind, causing him to stop.

"That's enough, the both of you. If you keep arguing and fighting, it will only make things worse. You are both acting silly and It shows you're only concerned about yourselves and not her."

"And who are you to lecture us, Mr Vampire?" Xavier, the most arrogant of them, said as he turned to Desmond.

"You're just a mere Vampire. Why would you want to claim a werewolf as your mate?"

"That's it. That's what I don't understand. And that's why I want to reject all of you. To me, it's the only best way to make peace. Having you three as my mate will only make things worse. It'll only increase the hatred you have for each other." I emphasized, maintaining a gaze with the three of them.

After some awkward silence, I finally muttered, "I, Camelia Stewart, reje—"

"No!"

The sudden voice echoed from outside, preventing me from speaking further.

As we all turned to follow the voice, we were shocked to see an elderly woman wearing a scarlet gown and a hood over her head. Beside her were two young, dark-skinned damsels with curling brown hair. They were also witches, as far as I could tell.

I recognized the old witch to be the woman I had met some time ago at Goldmoon Pack. She was the one that gave me some predictions about my fate that night after I ran out of the prince's party.

How in the world did she know that I was here? Was she the seer Xavier mentioned?

"Do not reject them, Camelia. You're making a very big mistake if you do so." She muttered, her shaky voice reverberating in the room, causing my heart to race than normal.

"But, it's not possible for me to have three mates. All my life, I've always dreamt of having just one mate whom I can share my burdens with. Having three mates is not going to do any good. It will only cause enmity, hatred, competition and war." I said, trying to make her understand me but she only shook her head in disagreement.

"I know it's hard for you, Camelia. You need to know that you're special and you need three mates for protection from your foes. In return, you make them have peace with each other."

The old witch said, giving me an assuring look before holding my smooth cheek with her scaly hands.

"The moon goddess is not sick to have matched you with the three of them. You need them and they also need you in return."

The old witch directed her gaze at my three mates and said, "Camelia is in danger and the three of you need to protect her at all costs. If you guys end up hating each other, then it will bring nothing but downfall to your kingdoms. You will lose everything so you have to find a way to make peace with each other."

With a confused look, Carlos spoke, "But Lycans and werewolves have been at war decades ago. How do you think our bond with her can end the war?"

"You didn't add vampires. Not only are Lycans and werewolves at war but vampires are also at war with them. Have you forgotten?"

Desmond added, catching all their attention.

"Old sorceress, if you'd be more frank with us, can you tell us why a vampire has to share our mate." Xavier, who had been quiet for some time, decided to speak.

"I believe all your questions have been answered already. Desmond also made it clear that the vampires are also at war with werewolves and Lycans. He is mated to her as well as to you both because she is bound to bring peace to your kingdoms,"

"Now if you may allow me, I need to have a private chat with Camelia," The old witch emphasized, giving Carlos, Xavier and Desmond a sharp gaze.

They all left but Xavier was hesitant to leave as he remained on a spot.

"Let's go Xavier, do you want to eavesdrop on them?" Desmond muttered and I could see Carlos smirking as he stared at Xavier.

Xavier ignored them and turned to the old witch. "I hope you're not leaving to go anywhere with my mate after your discussion."

He was the most possessive, courageous and resilient of my mates.

"Please go, Xavier. You called for me because you needed to hear from a seer like me and now you're doubtful of me all of a sudden. Why would I want to run off with her?"

Xavier grinned and approached me. He gave me a long stare, one that could melt my heart easily. I felt my heart thudding against my chest as he drew nearer to me, our faces an inch apart.

He raised my hands and smiled before kissing it. "I can't stand not seeing you a second, mate. However, I shall take my leave since the witch insists on it."

I watched as he stood up and backed me before leaving. Desmond shot me a comforting gaze before leaving with the others. I find Desmond to be enticing. His looks alone satisfies my spirit but Xavier was somewhat alluring and mischievous.

"You had a dream, Camelia," The old witch said to me, causing my eyes to widen in shock at her statement.

"I want you to know that It's not just a dream. It's a dire prediction about your fate and things that will happen in the nearest future."
