Chapter 12 - Library

As the students walked out of the training ground, the warm sun cast a pleasant glow over the surroundings. Wren strolled alongside Diana, the silver-haired girl who had introduced herself as a princess from a kingdom with a complex family structure. Diana's life, it seemed, was not as luxurious as one might expect, given her royal status. Her father, the king, had five wives, each with six children, which meant that Diana was part of a large and potentially chaotic family.

Diana explained that she was often raised by caregivers and rarely saw her parents or other family members, apart from her siblings. Despite this, she had been inspired by her elder sister, who had graduated from Westwood Academy and was now a respected fighter in their kingdom. Diana wanted to follow in her sister's footsteps and prove herself as a strong and capable individual.

The two girls walked to the library, hoping to find useful information about sniping and to explore the facility. As they entered the library, they were struck by its sheer size and modernity. The library was a vast and modern space, filled with rows upon rows of sleek, high-tech bookshelves that seemed to stretch on forever. The shelves were made of a dark, polished wood and were adorned with futuristic-looking LED lights that cast a soft, blue glow over the room.

The air was quiet and studious, with a sense of calm and focus that was palpable. The library was well-lit, with soft, overhead lighting that illuminated the rows of books and resources. The floor was covered with a soft, gray carpet that muffled the sound of footsteps, creating a peaceful atmosphere that was conducive to study and research.

The bookshelves were filled with a vast array of books, manuals, and resources on various subjects, including sniping, combat, strategy, and tactics. The books were organized by subject and category, making it easy for students to find the information they needed.

In addition to the physical books, the library also had a number of computer terminals and databases that provided access to digital resources and information. The terminals were sleek and modern, with high-resolution screens and advanced search functions that made it easy to find and access relevant information.

Overall, the library was a hub of knowledge and resources, and it seemed to be a place where students could come to learn, research, and prepare for their future careers as operatives. Wren and Diana were clearly impressed by the library's size and modernity, and they were eager to explore its contents and find useful information about sniping and archery.

As they navigated to the archery column in the library, Diana asked Wren, "What did you name your system?" Wren looked at her curiously, "You can name it?" Diana nodded, "Of course, I named mine Alexia. Sounds cool for my AI." She swiped on her system menu, learning more about her system's capabilities, before closing it with a satisfied smile.

Wren found it intriguing that Diana had named her system Alexia, and she began to think about naming her own system. "System," she said out loud, and the system replied, "Yes, master." Wren thought for a moment before saying, "I want to rename you."

The system responded with an "Okay," and Wren started brainstorming possible names. She thought about something unique and memorable, before suddenly saying, "How about Bil... Bil-harzia?" Diana's eyes widened in surprise, and she repeated, "Bilharzia?" Wren nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, I heard it once on the radio, and I like the ending 'zia'. It rolls out of my tongue with ease."

Diana looked at Wren in amusement, "But that's the name of a disease."

Wren chuckled, "Then lucky disease, it got a nice name." The system, now referred to as Bilharzia, remained silent, awaiting further instructions from its master.

Diana couldn't help but laugh at Wren's unconventional choice of name. "Are you sure, Wren? Naming your system Bilharzia?" she asked, still trying to process the unexpected name. Wren smiled confidently, "Yes, I'm sure. I like it." Despite the unusual name, Wren seemed pleased with her decision, and Bilharzia would now be her trusted companion in her training at Westwood Academy.

As they searched for an archery book at the top row, Diana stumbled upon a big brown book that caught her attention. The book was titled "Precision Shooting: Mastering the Art of Sniping." It was a comprehensive guide that provided detailed information on how to use snipers and other guns efficiently with precision.

The book was written by a seasoned marksman and provided tips and techniques for mastering the skills required to become a proficient sniper. It covered topics such as understanding the mechanics of sniping, choosing the right equipment, and developing the necessary skills to accurately hit targets at various distances.

One of the sections that caught Diana's eye was the chapter on hand skills. The book emphasized the importance of developing good hand skills when handling snipers, such as proper grip, trigger control, and breathing techniques. It provided detailed explanations and illustrations of the different techniques, including:

Proper grip: The book explained the importance of holding the sniper rifle with a firm but not overly tight grip, with the hands positioned in a way that allows for maximum control and stability.

-

Trigger control: The book discussed the importance of squeezing the trigger smoothly and consistently, without jerking or yanking the rifle. It provided tips on how to develop a smooth trigger pull and avoid common mistakes that can throw off aim.

-

Breathing techniques: The book explained the importance of proper breathing techniques when shooting, including how to breathe deeply and slowly to calm the nerves and steady the aim.

The book also provided tips on how to adjust for wind and distance, how to use the scope effectively, and how to compensate for the rifle's recoil. Diana found the information to be comprehensive and well-written, and she was eager to put the techniques into practice.

Meanwhile Wren browsed through the shelves, she found a black book with an interesting cover - an archery symbol crossed with a sword. The title of the book was "Tactical Archery: A Guide to Combat Marksmanship." Although swordsmanship wasn't her primary focus, Wren was intrigued by the book's content and decided to take a look.

The book was written by a seasoned archer and swordsman which provided information on the tactical applications of archery in combat situations. It covered topics such as choosing the right sword, bow and arrow, developing accuracy and speed, and using archery in conjunction with other combat skills. The book also provided tips on how to use archery in stealth and surveillance situations, and how to adapt archery techniques to different environments and situations.

The book was filled with illustrations and diagrams of different archery and swordsmanship techniques, including proper stance, grip, and release. It also included case studies and examples of how archery and swordsmanship had been used in various combat situations throughout history. Wren was impressed by the book's content and decided to take it back to her room to study further.
