Aveline's heels clicked against the ground as she hurriedly made her way towards the gates of the mansion.
Her Uber was just outside the gates waiting, because the security officers refused to let him in.
Just as she made it into the parking lot area, on her way out, something caught her attention.
"Aveline!"
She heard her name from the lips she dreaded the most.
It made her stop, and she turned to see he had reached her.
"Aveline, please," he said with desperate eyes.
"Please what? Why don't you tell me what you're apologising for? I'd love more than anything to hear why. If you're bold enough," she challenged him through quivering lips.
He staggered towards her, a complete mess. "What you heard back there. From Reese. I didn't know–"
"You didn't know Vanna was carrying your child?"
"No, not that. I didn't know Reese was going to say everything he did."
