It was never fun or pretty when the gun was pointed to one's way, and Aveline realized this fact when Reese began to speak about her relationship with Atlas.
"Aveline, a poor girl raised in the slums of pineapple street," he paused. "From your faces, I can tell you don't even know where that is. Do you see where the deceit in their marriage began?"
Everyone began looking towards both Atlas, and Aveline.
Atlas didn't react. His body was stiff, his eyes focused in concentration. He didn't react for fear that once he started, he wouldn't be able to stop.
They took his unreactiveness as an admission of guilt, and the clicks went crazier.
"To make their sham of a marriage believable, Atlas lied that Aveline came from a middle class family of artists in France. When in truth, the only thing French about her is her ability to speak it. Something that could easily have been learnt considering how diverse the culture in Pineapple Street is."
