Chapter 7 - Rune date (Brunch Bistro: Part Two)

A moment later, the ex-princess of Valor regained her composure and sat down on the table next to them. Saint Nightingale soon followed, though his face was looking at the other direction, away from the two shadows. Although it was an extremely small detail that most awakened or even masters can't even picked up, but June could tell that the Saint with auburn hair, face seemed to more pink than before.

The whole bistro, although more quiet than before when the two saint entered, was still filled with mutters and stare all around the two shadows and the stunning saints.

Although June and Rain was quite uncomfortable now that everyone is staring at them, Rain being a bit more than June, due to the first already used to receiving stares from strangers, mostly for his looks.

Though this time, the attention that they were receiving isn't entirely due to them, it was because of the two world renown saints who had just arrived and were now talking to them.

'Well, at least I'm not the centre of attention this time around.'

June thought to himself as he take a small sip from his vodka martini. He'd then turns back around and stare at the two saint; His finger was weaving small and subtle signs.

[Hey Rain, is it just me or are those two seemed to be going out with each other?]

Rain then looked over to the Corsair, her eyes suddenly lighten up like a small puppy.

[Thanks the spell I wasn't the only one!]

Rain then took a moment to take a small sip from her drink. With a small breath out, her hands then again form subtle signs.

[I think so? It's not official or anything but I can definitely tell that they have something going on.]

Rain suddenly let out a small chuckle, that then turns into a small cheeky smile on her face. Which causes the Corsair to suddenly freeze for a second, his cheek turned slightly pinker than before, though he quickly hides this by grabbing a table napkin to clean his face.

'Stop having weird thought about your boss younger sister!'

Though to his relief, this train of thought was suddenly interrupted by Rain, who was weaving new signs from her fingers.

[Well at least that is what those romance webtoons I've read told me... No one seems to believe me when I say that there's something going on between them though.]

June then stared at the Princess of the Shadow clan with a blank expression on his face for a few moments.

[Seriously? If the media finds out about this, there would be an uproar! Two famous saints dating? Not to mention that one is a ex-princess of Valor and the other is the ex-singer, Night. Can you imagine the kind of headlines that would be on the news?]

[Yeah I can already imagine it, though I wonder how long it would take for those two lovebirds to make it official thou-]

Rain was suddenly interrupted by the sudden voice coming from the tall and imposing raven-black haired woman next to them. Her daunting vermillion red eyes sent a chill down Rain spine.

"You two have been quite silent for a while now, staring at each other. If we interrupted your little date, then I apologise."

Morgan appearance was nothing short of striking, she was wearing a polished ebony blazer that complimented her raven-black hair well, with a white tank top underneath. Similar to his companion, Saint Nightingale outfit is also stunning as well, the man wore a brown coat with a grey turtleneck and dark navy blue trousers.

The sudden statement from lady Morgan made Rain suddenly spit out her drink. Rain then looked back at the woman with alabaster skin, in a panic she'd then wave her hand around.

"N- No! It's not like that! There's nothing going on between me and June!"

Almost immediately, June let out a sigh, then returned back with a question to the woman with red vermillion eyes.

"We were simply wondering, what kind of business trip brought you and Saint Nightingale to this small restaurant."

Morgan then crossed her arms, taking a sip from the wine she just had ordered.

"Of course, we were meeting up to talk about citadels businesses and what to do with them. On the way, I got hungry and told the dragon, to come with me and find a place to eat."

Morgan then takes another sip from her glass of wine and then looked back at the two shadows.

"And here we are."

It was then that the gorgeous saint with auburn hair and green eyes waved over to the waiter on the other side of the bistro.

"Excuse me! I would like to order something!"

A few moments later, the waiter approached the gorgeous transcendent. It was the same waiter as before, and June could tell that he was a nervous wreck as he approached Kai.

"Y- Yes what can I help you with?"

Kai then looked down to see the man name tag on his uniform, then let out a small smile, which seemingly calmed down the waiter.

"Ah, no need to be so anxious Backer! I would like to order a dry aged Centurion stew please."

From across the table form him, Morgan lifted her eyebrow while drinking her red wine.

"Since when did you like eating Centurion stew? It's not a very pleasant dish for most people taste."

Kai stare back at the transcendent woman across from him.

"Oh it's nothing, while staying at the jade palace Beastmaster taught me how to make it. I supposed it just grew on me."

'Did I just see that or did Lady Morgan eye just twitched?' June and Rain both thought to themselves as they then turned their head and stared back at each other in a cartoonish manner.

Morgan glanced back at kai, putting her drink down on the table and started reading the menu.

"Well I hope that you had enjoyed your stay with them, Dragon."

There was then an awkward moment of silence between the two transcendent. Which made the two shadows who was accompanying them, quite nervous to say the least.

[Princess, should we try to do anything to calm down the situation here?]

Rain then gulped and weaved a few signs using her delicate fingers back at the Corsair. A sweat could be seen running down her face.

[We should! This could end up really bad!]

Their conversation was suddenly halted by the sound of the transcendent man with green eyes and auburn hair, coughing.

"Speaking of which, Lady Morgan, what are you planning to order today?"

The vermillion woman proceeded to take her eyes of the menu to look at the waiter who was screaming internally.

"Ah yes, I would like to order a Carapace thermidor and a few rolls and a remain of a vapor devil, to go along side it as well."

The waiter then hastily notes down all the thing the two transcendent in front of him just had ordered, then went away not too long after.

Kai then looked at Morgan again and asked.

"I didn't thought you would be the kind of person who eat Carapace rolls, Lady Morgan."

Almost immediately, Morgan shifted her gaze towards the gorgeous transcendent, letting out a huff.

"You got a problem with that, Dragon?"

Kai looked away nervously while scratching the back of his head.

"N- No, I just thought that since it's such a common food, legacy like you wouldn't eat it."

Morgan proceeded to pick up her drink again and began to take a sip from it.

"Well I supposed you're right in thinking that way, however it has always been a little bit of a guilty pleasure of mine to consume it."

Kai then let out a small chuckle.

"Well, strangely enough it does fit you, I think.

Letting out a sigh, Kai continued to talk.

"I actually know a great place that sells really good carapace meat."

Morgan leaned forward, placing both of her forearms on the table, staring at Kai with a grin on her face.

"What? Are you insinuating that you would take me there on a date? My, you are a bold one aren't you?"

Kai face suddenly turned pink, similar to what Rain just had did a few moment ago, he also started waving his hand around randomly.

"W-What? No! I- I was just recommending you a place, that's all!"

With that the ex-princess of Valor covered her mouth with one hand and started to laugh.

Kai, in embarrassment, tried to change the topic of conversation by turning around to face June and Rain.

"Soooooo, how did you two met each other?"

June quickly responds calmly after taking another sip of vodka to swallowed down the tender chicken he had ordered.

"We met at the bank over at NQSC a few months ago, saint Kai."

Kai then raises his hand and let out a small laugh.

"No need for honorifics, Kai would do just fine. Though, I thought you two met at work? Considering that you two are co-workers after all."

Just as June was about to reply back to the transcendent, he was cut off by Rain who hastily responded.

"Y- Yes it's true that we're co-workers but we also met before that!"

Kai managed to tell that Rain was indeed telling the truth, due to his flaw, however he could also tell that it was a half truth, after spending a lot of time with Sunny during the death game, it becomes more easier for him to see these things.

Just as Kai was about to speak again, he was quickly interrupted by Morgan.

"So then why are you two alone here today? Normally when co-workers hang out, there's usually more than just two people. Are you lying to me right now, little girl?"

Immediately, Rain responded back to the woman beside her.

"No! It's nothing like that! It's just that two of our other co-workers couldn't show up today... In fact, they were the one who recommended this place to us!"

June proceeded to chew down on his chicken, calming down after realising that Rain was attempting to make small talks with the two saints.

"In fact, this was the restaurant they went for their first date! My, I still remember dear Fleur talking to me about who sweet it was here-"

Rain was interrupted by the sound of Kai coughing, a smile could be seen on the transcendent face.

"I'm sorry... you went to the place that your co-workers, who are dating, went on their first date? Wouldn't that make you two, currently on a date as well?"

With that, Rain flinched and her body suddenly froze, her face turned bright red like a tomato.
