Kyra's POV
I sighed deeply and stared at the imposing building. Attorney Lee's law firm was inside. Kieran's threat had been on my mind for three days. Now I had to make a decision. I wasn't sure if I would regret it later.
Sylvia was pacing inside me. She could feel how upset I was. This wasn't just about me anymore. Kieran had threatened Snow. My daughter. That changed everything.
"He might not hurt me," I whispered as I walked into the building, "but he will hurt my daughter."
I showed my ID to the receptionist. She took me straight to the elevator. My heart was beating so fast as I got closer to Attorney Lee's office. When I walked in, he smiled. He looked happy to see me.
"Good morning, Miss Monroe. Have a seat."
I nodded and sat in the chair across from his desk. I held my bag tight in my lap. My fingers twisted together.
"Do you want coffee? Juice or water?" he asked.
"It's okay, Attorney." I shook my head. "I came here to talk about my mom's real family."
