"What's my relationship with Zixuan?" Shengli repeated.
Then he suddenly burst into laughter. "Haoran, I didn't know you were this funny. What relationship do you think I have with Zixuan?"
He looked at Haoran, expecting him to say he was joking, but that cold expression wasn't going anywhere.
"We're just best friends," Shengli admitted.
"Better be," Haoran said coldly. "And I don't want this escaping business to repeat itself again. Your Wu Enterprise wouldn't like what they'd see from me."
"We are only friends," Shengli emphasized. "I think Zixuan is okay." He waved goodbye and left.
Now he understood why Zixuan was so adamant about escaping.
Minutes later, Zixuan stirred awake, his gaze unfocused at first before gradually settling on the figure sitting beside him.
"…Haoran?" His voice was hoarse and confused.
