Chapter 149: Poison Gas Labyrinth
"Master Baizhan, be careful of an ambush," Ao warned, worried.
As commander, Kaguya Baizhan knew the basic principle of not venturing into an unknown forest. "Ao, I hear you have a good sense of perception. Lead the scouting team."
After a reconnaissance, Ao's team had moved several kilometers away. Hearing the birdsong indicating everything was clear, Baizhan felt relieved. "Ao is too timid. There's no trap. It's obvious the Konoha Hundred are scared."
So he sped up the pursuit. "Master Baizhan, the White Blood Demon is very cunning, it's best to be careful," Ao insisted.
"What if there's a trap? What can we do? At worst, we can just turn back," Baizhan said with disdain. Ambushing in a misty forest was the Mist ninjas' specialty.
Unbeknownst to them, they had pursued their prey for tens of kilometers. Suddenly, Baizhan stopped. "Halt, there's miasma in the mist."
"Master Baizhan, this isn't miasma," Ao corrected. "It's the Konoha Hundred's poison gas."
"Go, find a genin and test the poison," Baizhan ordered indifferently, pointing to a young ninja. The genin, pale with fear, obeyed. As soon as he came into contact with the gas, he became paralyzed.
"There's a trap, retreat," Baizhan finally understood. But before leaving, he shot a bone bullet from his fingers, killing the poisoned genin. For the Mist ninjas, a wounded person was a burden, and killing them was a routine operation.
Just as they were retreating, Sasuke's clones released more mist, along with gas bombs and bat venom, creating a labyrinth of poisonous corridors that blocked their return. In the gaps of these areas, traps and sniper teams of the Konoha Hundred were positioned, each led by a Sasuke clone serving as a tactical instructor and perception center. Each clone, moreover, was equipped with two jonin-level puppets.
With the addition of Pakura and Sasuke's 25 clones, their force was formidable. As long as the Seven Ninja Swordsmen and Baizhan were occupied, the rest of the Kirigakure legion would undoubtedly be defeated.
"How can they have so many poisons?" Baizhan wondered, seeing his men fall one by one as they inhaled the gas. Finally, seeing that the Seven Swordsmen and he himself didn't care about casualties, Umino Sasuke had to use himself as bait to divert their attention.
"White Blood Demon, I found you."
The Seven Ninja Swordsmen and Baizhan pursued him. The battlefield was divided.
Kaguya Baizhan, the bone demon, against two steel mechas. Suikazan Fuguki, wielder of the Samehada shark skin, against another mecha puppet. Biwa Jūzō, the legend of the Executioner's Blade, against Sasuke himself. And the remaining four swordsmen... found themselves facing a green beast burning with a blue aura. Might Duy, with the Seventh Gate open.
