Chapter 144: Three Hidden Swords
Ryusuke, who originally wanted to use the Hiding in Mist Technique for silent assassination, now found himself at a disadvantage. Under Sasuke's sonic radar perception, everything was visible. Using Ryusuke's own mist, Sasuke slowly approached, employing a water breathing technique Maru had taught him.
"Wind Breath, Fifth Form: Water Leaf Cut!" Sasuke attacked from the mist.
"Ten Thousand Silk Blades!" Ryusuke countered. The twin swords Hiramekarei transformed into two chakra dragons, forming a tight defensive net. The clash of their attacks dispersed some of the mist, allowing Ryusuke to finally locate Sasuke.
"I found you!" he shouted, and used his ultimate move. "Release: Deep Sea Whale Song!"
The twin swords glowed, and an enormous blue chakra whale materialized and crashed into Sasuke. He, in turn, unleashed his own ace.
"Wind Breath, Seventh Form: Ten Thousand Swords Return to Origin!"
Countless sword shadows intertwined. In addition to his six real swords, there was a large number of water swords made of chakra. The six physical blades merged into a giant spinning sword, which drew in the water ones and clashed against the chakra whale.
The result was a massive explosion. Sasuke's six swords shattered. Ryusuke, though exhausted, remained standing, victorious in the clash. "Go to hell!" he shouted, lunging for the final blow.
At that moment, Sasuke's three heads opened their mouths. From each, a sharp water blade, an improved version of Tobirama's Heavenly Cry, shot out. No hand seals. At point-blank range.
Ryusuke, caught by surprise, barely managed to block two of the blades with Hiramekarei, but the third pierced his heart. He used his clan's Hydration Technique at the last second to avoid instant death, but he was gravely wounded.
Sasuke seized the opportunity to snatch the two Hiramekarei swords and, with four of his hands, applied a basic seal to prevent him from summoning them back.
"So this is the complete Konoha Nine-Sword Style," Ryusuke finally understood. Six physical swords and three hidden ones.
"I'm not defeated yet!" he roared, and used the Great Water Arm Technique to attack.
Sasuke's two lower hands wielded Hiramekarei to withstand the blow. At the same time, his other four hands condensed three ninjutsu: two Wind Spiral Waves and a Double Water Cannon. The water cannons fused with the wind waves, creating two water-wind javelins that impaled Ryusuke's chest, ending the battle.
