Chapter 76 - Chapter 74: Fūjin and Raijin

Chapter 74: Fūjin and Raijin

"You said you didn't eat anything," Raijin growled. He raised his staff and slammed it next to Yamagui Uta's head, leaving another large hole in the ground.

"Raijin, I really didn't eat. Didn't I tell you that the front lines are dangerous and you can't go on missions without a plan? Why don't you understand?" Yamagui continued to explain, so scared he was crying. Facing two huge guys, ready to eat anyone, it was hard not to fear having your head smashed at any second.

"Your calculations are wrong!" Raijin shook his head, his anger calming a bit as he began to process. "Are we on a high-level mission?"

Fūjin and Raijin were stupid, but when it came to food, their IQ skyrocketed. Even a fool knew that high-level missions paid more.

"Yes, but..." Yamagui tried to explain.

"There's a lot of food on a high-level mission and you're still not satisfied!" Fūjin raged. "You keep saying you didn't steal food! I'm going to kill you!"

At that moment, the roles seemed to reverse. Fūjin was like a furious sage, while Yamagui was the fool who couldn't even add. Seeing Fūjin's large wooden staff looming over his head, Yamagui hurried to simplify the explanation: "Fūjin, Raijin, the termites in the logistics department took the remuneration!"

The large staff stopped. Fūjin had finally understood.

"Who did you say took our food?" he asked, understanding that it wasn't Yamagui, but some "termites."

Raijin heard it more clearly. He immediately grabbed Yamagui by the neck and lifted him. "What's the name of that termite in the logistics department? Where is he? I want to kill him!" he roared.

"Ahem! Raijin, I haven't said anything," Yamagui paled, unsure if it was from the shaking or from the fear of having spoken too much.

Seeing that he refused to give a name, the brothers turned to Kurama Kon. After a round of threats, she was forced to explain that it wasn't a single person, but a group, and that even the village itself took their food.

"Why did the village take my food?" Fūjin asked.

"The village is also a thief, stealing my food," Raijin concluded. His simple mind only understood the most direct logic.

"Fūjin, we can't defeat the village to get our food back. What should we do?" Raijin asked. He knew that if you're not strong enough, you can't get back what's been stolen.

"Sister Tsunade is very powerful. She'll definitely be able to defeat the entire village. Let's go find her!"

"Yes, let's go find her!"

The two decided to abandon their companions and their post to go find Tsunade.

"You can't leave!" Yamagui shouted, panicking. If they went and made a scene, the masters of the logistics department would blame him. His life, and his family's, would be over. Desperate, he used his ace in the hole: "Wait! Don't you want food? I'll go to the trading post to exchange my weapons for Hyorogan Pills."

The brothers stopped. They knew those pills didn't truly satisfy hunger.

"Captain, you can't sell any more swords," Kon whispered to him. "Without them, we won't be able to control them."

"Kon, it's too late," Yamagui replied, dejected. His strength lay in his tools, and without them, he was a toothless tiger. Kon's genjutsu wasn't very effective against the brothers when they were hungry and violent either.

"Captain, let's get some prey and secretly light a campfire..."

"Shut up! Do you want to be heard?" Yamagui interrupted her. "Last time we violated discipline, we got caught. Have you forgotten that suicide attack mission? Besides, they've already eaten all the prey in our defense zone."

Yamagui left for the trading post, leaving the three alone.

Hidden in the distance, Sasuke, who had seen the whole drama, was about to leave. At that moment, Fūjin's eyes, which until now only reflected brutal hunger, lit up with an extraordinarily sharp intuition, one that was reserved only for food. He spotted the hawk Shirotaka, who had just flown nearby.

"It's a big bird! I want to eat a big bird!" he cheered.

Whoosh!

He directly threw the large staff he held in his hand towards Shirotaka as if it were a javelin.
