Jae's heart jumped in his chest, his cheeks warming as he spun around to face her. "Hey," he said quickly, lowering his voice to a sharp whisper, "stop shouting in the library." His eyes darted nervously to the other students sitting nearby, who were already throwing annoyed glances their way.
The library wasn't packed, but it was still full enough that loud voices drew attention, and Jae didn't want to become the center of it.
Yuna's mood changed at once. Her big, bright grin faded into a playful pout, her blue eyes narrowing with a teasing gleam. She didn't look sorry at all.
Instead, she walked over to him slowly, her steps light and almost bouncy, like she was dancing her way across the floor.
She plopped down in the chair across from him, the soft thump of her bag against the table marking her arrival. Her very presence seemed to change the quiet, calm corner of the library, like a spark of electricity had entered the air.
