Moving through the halls of the Xavier Institute Charles and Derek eventually arrived at the dining hall.

Just as they did so did Scott Summers and Jean Grey.

Also known as Cyclops and Marvel Girl respectively.

One of the most iconic Marvel couples, and X-Men related couples, whose babies always ended up being powerhouses no matter what reality they got together in.

Just thinking of the terrifying children the DNA of the pair in front of him could make sent a shiver down Derek's spine.

He was especially wary of Jean.

Given she's almost always the host of the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix.

Which Xavier usually pisses off by sealing away simply because he doesn't understand it.

Leading to a fucking Dark Phoenix saga.

An event Derek wants absolutely no part of.

Thinking that Derek is wondering if maybe he could help set the Phoenix free, and then maybe it wouldn't try and destroy all of Earth.

But again that's a matter for future him to contend with.

Right now current Derek is simply going to get the know Scott and Jean as people.

The people in question immediately moving their gazes to Derek the moment he stood in front of them.

"Yo." Derek spoke. Doing a two finger salute. "Names Derek Cowan."

"He's our newest student here." Charles added. "Derek, meet Scott Summers and Jean Grey."

"Nice to meet you." Scott said. Offering a hand, which Derek shook.

"Same." Jean added.

"Same to the both of you." Derek replied.

Especially in Jeans case.

Since she was a knockout.

And now meeting her in person he can completely understand why Scott, in some universes Logan, and so many others simp for her.

Though Derek is definitely not one of them.

He simply thinks she's cute.

Once introductions were out of the way the four of them entered the dinning hall.

Where everyone else was already seated.

Including a brown haired boy Derek didn't know.

The boy immediately turning his attention towards him when he entered the room. "Sup man, names Bobby Drake. Who are you?"

"Derek Cowan. The newest student to the institute." Derek replied. "Nice to meet you Bobby." He spoke.

Wondering if this version of Bobby was straight or gay like he was in the comics?

Not that Derek thinks there's anything wrong with that. To him people can love whoever they want.

He's just curious is all.

Well, given he's going to be hanging out with the X-Men for the foreseeable future he'll have time to figure it out.

"Same here." Bobby replied.

While Derek took a seat at the table.

After which he grabbed a plate and began filling it up with food.

From pancakes, to bacon, to eggs, and even French toast.

Given the spread in front of him.

He chose not to hold back.

"Looks like someone has an appetite." Rogue mused.

"With all this kind of delicious food in front of you who wouldn't?" Derek asked. In between bites.

Given he wasn't a slob after all.

"Well said mine friend." Kurt spoke.

"Oh no, did we just get another Kurt." Bobby asked.

"Like you're one to talk Bobby." Jean spoke.

Earning her laugh from almost the entire table.

But once they finished Xavier spoke up.

"Everyone a moment of your attention please." He asked. Leading everyone to look at him. "I'm glad you're all welcoming to Derek. And on that note I would like to ask for volunteers to take him into town and help him acquire things that he needs. Such as clothes, and the like. Given he arrived here with nothing but the clothes on his back."

"Did your parents kick you out?" Bobby cautiously asked.

"Nope. Since I never knew them. Grew up in an orphanage and they kicked me out once my powers manifested." Derek easily replied.

"Oh." Bobby mused.

"Hey, it's fine. Really." Derek told him. "Now, who wants to go shopping with me? Sincce I'll definitely need a guide, given I'm new around these parts."

"I'll go." Kitty immediately spoke up.

Kurt absolutely ready to comment.

Only for a glare from Kitty to silence him.

"I'll go as well." Scott said. "After all Derek will need a guys opinion if he's going to pick out clothes."

"Hey, what's that mean Scott?" Kitty asked.

"Just what I said." Scott replied. Smirking.

Earning him a dirty look from Kitty. To which he ignored.

After that no one else spoke up.

"Well it looks like I've got my chaperones." Derek said.

"That you do." Charles added.

Once he did breakfast continued as normal.

Then once it was over Charles gave Derek a credit card before sending him, Scott, and Kitty, on their way.

All of them heading into town using Scotts Ruby-red convertible.

Arriving at the Bayville Mall in no time.

Once they did the shopping spree began.

Derek making sure his first stop was an electronics store. Where he purchased both a phone and a computer.

Along with a few other things.

Then once he did that he found, or rather, let himself be dragged around by Kitty to several clothing stores.

Since she did have a good sense of fashion.

Though when she went too far Scott helped out in reeling her in.

Not that Derek found anything wrong with Kitty upbeat and bubbly nature.

In fact he felt it for her perfectly.

Though for a guy who was and introvert in his previous life, and is basically still one, dealing with her did wear him down quickly.

Even so he dealt with it.

Leading to Derek finding the shopping trip all the more enjoyable.

Bags in their hands, and Derek wearing one of the new outfits, the group of three found themselves in the food court.

Seated at a table.

Their first rest since they arrived at the mall.

Leaning back in the chair he was in Derek sighed. "Well I think that's enough excitement for one day." He mused. "And I've got everything I need. So after we eat what say we head back to the mansion?"

"No way, we've only just gotten started." Kitty said. "The days still young."

"And you know how the professor will be if we're out too late." Scott spoke.

Leading Kitty to frown at him. "Come on Scott, don't be such a stick in the mud. Lighten up a bit and have some fun."

"I do know how to have fun Kitty, just responsibily." Scott retorted.

"Yeah, the "boring" way." Kitty said. Using air quotes.

"Well sometimes boring is good." Derek stated.

Leading Kitty to look at him. "No, not you too Derek."

"Sorry Kitty, not tonight." Derek replied.

Given he really was tired.

After everything he did today. From the tour of the institute to his medical assessment and then power assessment.

Add into that all the shopping and he just wanted to go lie down in his new bed.

"Looks like you've been outvoted miss Pryde." Scott said.

Leading Kitty to hang her head in defeat.

So with that after the group ate they returned to the mansion.

Once they did Derek immediately went to return the credit card to Charles.

Who was in his office.

"Thank you Derek." Charles spoke. Upon taking back the card. "I trust you found everything you needed."

"And then some professor." Derek replied.

"Good to hear." Charles replied. "Which means everything will be in order when you enroll in school." He spoke.

"Yes." Derek replied.

Until he immediately realized what he just said.

Not to mention what he just realized.

He was going to have to attend highschool again.

...

...

...

'God dammit.' Derek thought.

He then put a wry smile on his face before leaving Charles' office and heading to his room.

Where he quickly got ready for bed, asleep in no time at all.

Since he needed a break from reality.

Given the challenge of high school ahead.
