"What do you mean?! You're asking this because he fought for me that day?" I asked as I sneered at him and the smile on his face faded at once.
"Do you think he's my mate all because he stood up for me by fighting against you? He's not, okay. He's not! Derek is not my mate. Whoever my mate is, it's none of your business,"
He smirked after hearing my comment and he tucked my hair to the side of my neck, wanting to see my neck clearly.
"But you don't have a mark.. are you sure you found your mate?" He asked and I gulped down the lump in my throat, thinking of what to tell him..
The mark was already concealed with the cosmetics I applied on my neck, making it less visible.
"We decided not to mark ourselves yet. Wait.. why am I even telling you all of these? leave me and stop asking me private questions.. it's none of your business if I've found my mate or not. All I want you to know is that I can never go back to someone like you. Having you as a mate will be the most miserable thing that'd ever happened to anyone. I'm so glad that we aren't mates!"
I snapped and rolled my eyes at him but before I could walk away from him, he held my hands again, halting my movements. He pulled me closer to him, bringing my chest into contact with his.
A smirk flashed on his face, prompting me to bite my teeth and glare at him with disgust.
"Why do you hate me this much?.I regretted all I've ever done to you but you're keen on not forgiving me,"
He asked, stroking my hair and I yanked his hands off me with bruising force, my teeth gritting and my eyes narrowing with hatred.
"I'm not only angry because of what you did to me.. I'm also angry because of what you did to Ashley,"
I disclosed and I could see his eyes widening as his jaw dropped slowly.
"Do you think I don't know? You threatened the poor girl and even blackmailed her. You used her to satisfy your carnal desires. You turned her into a bed slave and a sex toy all because you're of great status. When are you going to stop all of this? When will you start treating those in lower ranks as humans? Mason, we are not animals, and you should know that. After all that, do you think I'd ever want to be involved with someone like you?"
I spat at him, and I could tell he was speechless and shocked. He undoubtedly wondered how I found out about what happened between him and Ashley.
I yanked away from his grip completely before walking out on him.
Tucking my hair behind my ear, I made my way to the classroom and I could see the shocked look on Matilda's faces. Everyone had returned to the classroom after the sports period. They left me locked up in the bathroom and probably forgot me there. How despicable they are! I really wished I could walk up to them and slap them hard on their faces but I can't. It saddens me that I can't stand up for myself. Being weak made me avoid a lot of troubles but I feel depressed most times.
"Isabel," Bonnie called after walking into the classroom. Her hair was curly and beautiful with colorful garlands on it. Her face was plastered with worry and shock as she approached me.
"Where have you been? I've looked everywhere for you. You didn't come to the stadium plus, you weren't with the cheerleaders, I thought you wanted to join them.." She asked, worried.
I didn't want to tell her that I was locked up in the bathroom. I already promised her to always stand up for myself whenever I'm being bullied and If I tell her what happened, she will definitely see that I'm still weak.
"I've been with Miss Andrea. She was teaching me some important rules to follow as a cheerleader. I wasn't able to join them today because I urm.. assisted her with some things.."
I managed to lie and I felt my heart racing at the minute. I didn't feel happy about myself lying to Bonnie. Should I just tell her the truth? Derek walked into the classroom not quite long with many ladies trooping around him, grabbing my entire attention.
The girls cheered happily, their faces filled with smiles as they clinged onto him. He was now in his uniform and I felt bad because I didn't get a chance to see him play on the field.
"Derek made the blue bears team win! He made them win! How amazing," Charlotte squealed, and my eyes widened at once.
So he won the match. I turned around and I saw Enzo gritting his teeth with headphones in his ear. Few ladies were beside him and I could tell that he was angry as well as envious of Derek.
"I didn't know you were good at.sports. aren't you just a god?" Chloe beamed and fluttered her eyes as she stared at Derek.
When Derek's gaze met mine, I froze at a spot and bit my lips before averting my gaze from him.
Mason walked in with his eyes on me but he didn't have the courage to talk to me after I disclosed what he did to Ashley.
My heart raced and beads of sweat poured down my skin. When I couldn't take it anymore, I finally turned to Bonnie and said, "Mason is aware that I'm aware of what he did to Ashley,"
"WHAT!!!" Bonnie turned to face me with wide eyes….

After the closing hours, I left home as fast as I could, wanting to get some rest so I could relieve the tension in my mind. I just wished to be alone after having a stressful day. When I got into my room, I laid on the bed and grabbed my blanket before tucking myself in it.
Not quite long, Derek came home and he walked to my room immediately, knowing I was bothered about something..
He knocked on my door and I sat up, my chest heaving as I wondered what he wanted to say to me..
"Can I come in?" He asked softly and I muttered a 'yes'.
His eyes bore into mine as soon as he walked in. I hugged my knees and watched as he sat beside me on the bed, his hands reaching for my cheek. His face etched with worry and his green eyes held mine in their grasp, radiating with comfort.
With a low voice, he said, "You know you can always tell me whatever is bothering you, mate.."
When I heard the word 'Mate', my brows rose upwards and I stared into his eyes which were filled with love and concern.
"What is it, Isabel? Can you please share your worries with me? Is anyone bothering you?"
I shook my head, not having the courage to tell him everything. I didn't want him to know that I was being bullied.
"I didn't see you at the stadium today. You didn't see me play on the Field. Where were you? Is something going on that you'd like to tell me?"
My lips quivered as he gave me that intense gaze, one that tried to find the truth in my eyes. Before I could give him a reply, my phone chimed, grabbing my attention at once. My eyes widened when I saw that it was Mason calling.
