The walk to the bar took about thirty minutes. Things would've been a lot easier if I had a bike or a car, but I couldn't afford it. Maybe that was the first thing I'd buy with my first paycheck from tutoring Tavian.
Right before I made it to the entrance, my phone beeped, startling me. I checked hesitantly, and released a sigh of relief when I saw it was just a text from Mira. I doubted Tavian and Rhydian would want me see me after what happened, so I let myself relax a bit.
I pushed the door open and the strong smell of alcohol, smoke and grilled beef perforated my nostrils. The air was dense as not enough fresh air got into it.
I scanned around me for any sign of Seraphyne, then it struck me.
I didn't know what she looked like.
I scratched at my hair. This was going to prove more tasking than I thought.
Suddenly, like the subconscious voice at the back of my mind, a whisper rang through my ears.
