Chapter 5 - We have plans

Tammi came out of the kitchen a while later carrying a tray of treats.

Glancing at Yona dozing off on the sofa, he scoffed.

"Tsk, I thought you came to see me, but it seems you're here for naps and free food again," he sneered, placing the treats on the coffee table.

Lazily opening her eyes, she rolled them as she sat up.

"Don't get your trousers in a bunch, alright? I did come over to see you, babe," she pouted.

Getting settled on the sofa beside Yona, Tammi took out one teacup and a wine glass.

"What do you want this time? Dry or dirty?" he asked as he began preparing her a drink while making tea for himself.

"Dirty, definitely," came the answer without hesitation, a seductive smile playing on her lips as she reached for a cookie.

Taking a bite, Yona leaned back, saying, "Let's go out to celebrate and play. I plan to drink with the old bulls tonight—maybe even hit Flowers of Lily's Garden. They have new faces and surprises."

"No. I said yesterday we already had plans tonight," Tammi shot her down instantly, taking a sip of his tea before placing the cup down.

Yona jumped across onto Tammi's lap, hanging off him.

"What?! Whyyy?! What plans?!" she shrieked, appalled.

"Remember Elven is in town and is throwing a big bash this time. We can't miss it—and you were the one who agreed we'd make an appearance."

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot. What time does he come again?"

She whipped her head up too fast, knocking right into Tammi's chest, sending shared pain through both of them.

"Ofmh," he grunted as he caught her, taking her whole weight when her head smacked into his chest.

"Oww, dammit," she rubbed her forehead, now red from the impact.

"Serves you right, hm." Tammi smirked, poking the bump, enjoying her pain with contentment.

"Bad man," she pouted jokingly, turning her head away as if to say, I'm not gonna talk to you.

"But anyway, why do you wanna go out to celebrate again? You go out playing like every other night," Tammi questioned as he handed her the drink.

She took a long sip of her cocktail—one Tammi had learned from her grandmother, among other "mixed drinks," as she liked to call them.

"I'm free. She let me go now. I can do whatever I want." A wicked smile spread across her face.

Tammi whipped his head in her direction, searching for any sign of lying before pulling her into a tight, comforting hug.

"Congrats, hon. I'm so happy to hear that your wish has come true." He released her from the embrace, then asked, "Do you have somewhere to stay? Or wanna crash here in the guest room you normally sleep in when you stay over?"

"Hehe." Yona grinned foolishly, wiggling her body, feeling giddy.

"Haha! Eww—don't make that face, it's disgusting." Tammi laughed, pushing Yona off him playfully.

"Pfft! I'm not ugly!" Yona shrieked, glaring at him in dismay.

"… Are you sure?" he asked, looking at her with exaggerated fake confusion.

"…Tsk." Amused, she lunged at him.

"Ahhhh, save me!!" Tammi darted to the side and took off running into the back room as Yona chased after him.

"Don't worry! I'm trying to save you—from yourself!" Yona shouted darkly after him.

"Ahahaha!" Tammi and Yona joked around, play-fighting and chasing one another around the house.

Now completely worn out, Tammi and Yona slumped onto the sofa in the living room. Their breathing was labored, both out of breath.

"So… you are for sure staying here, right?" Tammi asked after taking a few deep breaths to calm down.

"Of course. I'm here to stay, bitch," Yona rolled her eyes at Tammi's antics.

He already knew she was going to stay—she didn't have any other friends nearby to crash with.

Tammi was probably the only friend she had who lived close enough. Even then, he still lived on the opposite side of the city from her mother's estate, located on the outskirts.

"You can lose the attitude, heifer," Tammi said, pushing her head away as he got up, straightening his clothes and glancing at Yona.

Yona flipped him the bird, making a face as her head jerked to the side from his push.

"Get up and start getting ready. We have two hours before the coachman comes to receive us," he smirked provocatively, as if to say, Is that all you got?

"Ugh! Okay, I'll be sure to doll myself up real good for tonight. But do start hating me when all the attention's on me and not you. Also, just remember—it was never personal. You're just not the whole package!" Yona stood up, marching to her room and tossing a mocking taunt at him.

"Oh," was all he said before rushing her.

"Ahhh!" she screamed, slamming her door shut quickly when she saw Tammi charging toward her.

She locked the door quickly and took a few steps back.

BANG! The door was kicked from the other side.

"Ahahahaha!" Yona laughed loudly, her laughter echoing through the room and ringing out from the other side of the door.

"Bitch! You can't hide in there forever. Remember, you can't cook and depend on my cooking to feed you! We're going to the same place—and we live together! Haha! You can hide, but you can't escape me, Yona!" Tammi laughed angrily from behind the door.

"That may be true, but I can still hide quite well! Hahahaha! Be gone, demon—let this queen get ready in peace!" Yona was definitely a shit talker and knew exactly how to provoke the reaction she wanted.

"Ugh! BANG!" The door was kicked one more time before his footsteps faded into the distance, signaling he'd walked away.

Having had enough fun, Yona quickly stripped, pulled out a large wooden tub, and filled it with heated water she conjured. She took out some liquid soap, poured it into the tub, then spun around it, creating bubbles. Using her finger to stir scented lily petals in, steam filled the room from the tub's heat.

She stepped in, sliding down as she stretched herself out.

"Ahhhh…" She closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth.

This is heaven. Who doesn't love a nice long soaking bath?
