After composing a text message to Clark, asking "What happened?", Gino put down his phone, propping up his chin as he gazed at the Tesseract housed within the high-precision equipment.
His Cybertronian loyal assistant, the Singer, was transforming into a metallic container to encase the Tesseract.
"Mr. Gino, the Tesseract has been used to scan the entire town for energy fluctuations. Clark Kent's biological signals were not detected. It is presumed that he may have left the town for an unknown location."
"As expected, Clark ran away." Gino exhaled, just as he had predicted, Clark had left the town.
Boys of this age were indeed prone to sentimentality, but regardless, from a friend's perspective, Gino chose not to get involved in this kind of issue.
"Mr. Gino, an unknown anomalous spatial energy reaction has been detected."
The Singer's cold, emotionless voice echoed from the screen.
"Energy signature detected?"
Before Kino could even think, the Singer used the Tesseract to project a holographic image of a small town. A water droplet-shaped energy projection was rapidly descending towards the town from above.
"Analysis indicates the trajectory of the spacecraft leads directly to the quarry cave on the west side of the town."
The Singer informed Kino about the spacecraft's path.
"Ugh, I knew something bad would happen eventually." Kino sighed deeply, feeling weary as he gripped the armrest and stood up.
His previous relaxed posture vanished, replaced by a decisive air.
"Keep me informed, Singer."
Gino slowly began to walk, and the Singer also obediently opened a space channel in front of him.
Gino stepped inside, his tone icy: "This is my town, and no one can destroy it."
The familiar quarry equipment. The Wayne Enterprises construction site here had already been halted due to the discovery of an underground cavern.
A blur of motion flashed past at an extremely fast speed.
Gino floated in the air above the quarry, looking around.
White flames, similar to those left by a rapidly passing aircraft, still lingered in the night sky above.
The originally flat ground was now furrowed with a deep trench, as if plowed by a water buffalo.
The shape of the damage resembled a plane crash, with the ground littered with destruction.
Kino slowly stepped onto the damp soil.
Following the trail in the mud, it soon disappeared into a cave entrance.
"It should be in here."
His eyes widened slightly, and Kino peered into the cave entrance. The pitch-black night seemed to not exist, as everything was clearly visible.
Old stone murals, strange stalactites.
His gaze slowly moved downwards. In the corner of the cave, a futuristic-looking aircraft, roughly several meters wide, was quietly parked in the dark and silent cave. Its edges emitted a blue light, and its exterior seemed to be made of a strange metal. The tail was equipped with several unknown material-made technology thrusters.
Unfortunately, Kino wasn't a scientist, so he couldn't figure out much from it.
But he understood one thing: this thing couldn't have been created on Earth. After all, people were still using button phones, let alone building a portable manned aircraft.
"Interesting."
Gino stared at the spacecraft, even with his X-ray vision, he couldn't see through its structure.
"Swish."
He landed lightly in the cavern, frowning. In his mind, he thought of the golden energy rift summoned by Jor-El not long ago. Perhaps, that thing's function might be some kind of coordinate energy? Attracting this spacecraft to come here?
He thought as he approached.
When the youth stood at the front of the spacecraft, his fingers touched the cold metal.
The material felt icy to the touch. His gaze swept across the surface, and then, Gino found a small "S" mark on the front of the spacecraft.
The familiar "S" mark, he didn't even need to think to confirm the identity of the being inside.
The mark Clark would wear on his chest in the future, symbolizing hope and redemption. But Gino knew that this thing was actually the House of El's emblem.
"Sure enough, there's someone from the House of El inside."
Clenching his fists slightly, Gino felt no fear towards the person he was about to face, but rather a sense of anticipation.
You see, the young Clark's strength was still too weak. He hoped he could have a proper fight with a real Kryptonian.
Well, to put it in a slightly pretentious way, he wanted to "test his capacity."
His raised fist slammed down ferociously, echoing like thunder against the alien spaceship's hull.
Crack!
The supposedly sturdy outer shell couldn't even hold for a second before shattering. The fist didn't stop, continuing its descent.
Fragments of the broken hull scattered, and the figure hidden within the ship slowly revealed their true appearance.
Moonlight streamed directly through the opening, illuminating Gino and reflecting off the figure within the container.
It was a lovely girl.
Golden hair lay still on the white cloth of the container. A pure white, slightly oversized nightgown clad the girl, giving her a slender appearance.
Long, slender, and fair legs were together, her toes pressed tightly against the bottom of the container.
A flawless, pink face, eyes tightly closed, like Sleeping Beauty in the fairy tale, quietly slumbering, waiting for the prince's rescue.
Logically, a beauty should be cherished, but Gino's fist didn't stop, just quickly slammed towards the girl's face.
Just as the fist was about to hit the girl's high nose bridge.
"Tsk."
Gino stopped his fist.
It wasn't that he was being gentle, but rather that a piece of information about the girl surfaced from a distant memory.
Kara Zor-El.
The only other survivor from Krypton, and Clark Kent's cousin.
In the future, this girl would have a super famous title - Supergirl, which meant "Super Girl."
"Hey, wake up." Gino pursed his lips, then reached out and pinched the girl's pretty face hard.
One second, two seconds.
The next second, the eyes that had been tightly closed suddenly opened, and a pair of mesmerizing, sapphire-like eyes stared at Gino's face.
Their eyes met, one expressionless, the other serene.
Gino clenched the other hand slightly, already prepared for a fight.
Kara felt the force on her cheek, their eyes locked.
Then.
"Waaah!"
A layer of glistening mist formed in Kara's eyes, and large tears, like pearls, slid down her cheeks.
"You, you're bullying me!"
Kara reached out a small hand, slapped away Gino's arm, and covered her face, sobbing. Her long legs kicked about wildly.
The girl's tearful cries echoed through the silent cave, a chilling sound if one ignored her pretty face.
Gino stood with his arms crossed, staring at Kara with a blank expression. Judging by the girl's behavior, her mental age seemed to be only six or seven?
She had a body that looked to be about eighteen or nineteen, but the mind of a six- or seven-year-old brat who only knew how to cry?
Gino almost burst out laughing, sneering inwardly: "Jor-El is an idiot. What's he doing sending this little kid to Earth? Expecting this airhead to kill for him and rule the world?"
After all, from what he knew, Kara was even more kind and benevolent than Clark.
