Chapter 173 - The Doctrine of Fast Guns

Boom!

His body plummeted, stirring up flurries of snow. The chilling wind from all directions was blocked by an invisible barrier.

The snowflakes clung to the barrier, creating ripples before quickly melting away.

For ordinary people, the swirling snowstorm was deadly. But in the vast expanse of white, the young man walked lightly towards the mountain peak.

One step, two steps.

As he got closer, the invisible field overturned everything. Gravity was disrupted, and the accumulated snow that should have been on the ground floated in the air.

He exhaled gently, and the rushing air enveloped the snow, forming it into a large snowball that flew far away.

Bang!

It was like hitting an invisible wall. The snowball exploded, and a transparent air wall faintly appeared.

Having completed the "knocking" ritual, the young man wore a frivolous smile. "Is anyone there?"

No one answered. It seemed the entire world consisted only of the white, swirling snow.

"Buzz~"

His eyes flashed with a fiery red light. Gino's lips curled slightly, and his tone deepened. "I'll ask again, is anyone there?"

"Crack~" As if hearing the young man's voice, the encompassing transparent light screen flickered slightly. Then, it dissipated like flowing water, and a series of magnificent golden palaces and courtyards appeared before Gino.

The tightly closed door opened, and a white robe swept out.

"Welcome, traveler."

A white-bearded old man with a gentle smile quickly walked out of the courtyard, his aged face radiating a harmonious expression. "Welcome to Kamar-Taj."

"I am the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme, guardian of Earth."

Unlike the movie world, the Ancient One in this universe was a white-bearded old man.

"Hello, my name is Gino Luther." Gino rubbed his neck and chuckled, "You can also call me Superman."

The cold, fierce snow slammed against the glass windows, causing a "whooshing" sound.

Outside the windows, a howling blizzard raged, while inside, it was as warm as spring.

A nanmu table stood in the center of the hall. The Ancient One, the old man with the long beard, narrowed his smiling eyes and gently pushed a teacup forward. "The tea of Kamar-Taj, please enjoy."

"The tea is good." Gino accepted the cup, his gaze fixed on the embroidered pattern.

"But, I didn't come for tea."

Gino slowly stood up, his hands clasped behind his back as he walked to the window, gazing at the snowstorm outside: "I need you to help me find someone."

"His name is Clark Kent."

"Clark Kent?" The Ancient One murmured the name, then looked at Gino: "The same one who entered Earth's protective array with you?"

"That's right."

The Ancient One lowered her eyes: "However, if I tell you where he is, in exchange, you must leave this Earth."

The Ancient One's strength varies across dimensions; this one didn't seem particularly strong.

"Of course, you can leave," Gino said with a smile, turning around. "As long as I get what I want."

The old man's face lit up with a smile at Gino's assurance.

"I can probably pinpoint a specific location for you," the Ancient One said, spreading his fingers. Magical energy surged, constructing a golden image of the Earth. "He's in Germany."

The midday sun beat down on the dense forest.

Germany.

Inside the dense forest.

"Faster, keep moving!"

Clark guided the panicked crowd, urging them to run through the forest.

Just hours ago, Clark decided to rescue the people held in the prison.

After a brief moment of thought, Clark chose to abandon thinking and act on instinct.

"Get them!"

The German soldiers behind him roared, drawing their guns and pulling the triggers.

"Tat-tat-tat!"

A barrage of bullets rained down on the crowd.

"Whoosh!"

Before anyone could react, Clark had already blocked the bullets. Whistling bullets struck against his body, sending sparks flying. Clark stepped past them, turned around, and knocked out the pursuing German soldiers with a single blow.

"Is everyone keeping up?"

Clark turned to look at the crowd when a woman rushed forward, crying, and grabbed his arm. "Sir, my son is missing!"

"His name is Eric!"

Before Clark could react, a rustling sound came from the nearby woods again.

"Clark Kent!"

Schmidt's angry shout echoed through the forest. The German officer was about to explode with rage.

At first, he had planned to deceive the extraterrestrial visitor and use him as a lab rat for experiments.

But he hadn't expected Clark to lead everyone in the prison to escape.

Clark narrowed his eyes slightly.

His gaze pierced through the branches of the trees.

In the blinding sunlight, a grimacing Schmidt held a child, a cold handgun pressed firmly against the boy's temple.

"If you run, I'll kill this child!"

Schmidt panted heavily, his eyes filled with madness: "I believe you certainly wouldn't want to see this boy die because of you."

Although their time together had been short, Schmidt's grasp and analysis of human nature was clearly very strong.

He could see that Clark was a soft-hearted person.

Or perhaps, a soft-hearted god?

"I can ignore those who ran, but you must come back with me!" Schmidt gripped the boy's neck with one hand, increasing the pressure, and the boy's face gradually turned purple from difficulty breathing.

"Don't shoot!"

Clark raised his hands to show he meant no harm.

Facing the gun pressed against his temple, he couldn't guarantee he could save the boy without fail.

"Good, just like that. Come with me." Schmidt pulled the boy close, his eyes fixed on Clark.

The surrounding German soldiers walked towards Clark and put handcuffs on him.

They pushed Clark, forcing him to retrace his steps.

Schmidt's lips curled into a smile; he had gotten a hold of a god.

"Rustle~"

The rustling in the surrounding bushes started again.

"Perhaps, you should let go of that boy."

A lazy voice echoed from nearby.

Looking over,

A young man in a black suit was slowly walking towards them.

The weeds and trees around seemed to be welcoming their king, parting to create a wide path through the forest.

"Gino!"

The moment Clark saw the young man, the look of helplessness vanished from his face, replaced by joy and happiness.

Despite having many questions for Gino, Gino lightly raised his hand, gesturing for Clark to be quiet.

"Now is not the time to talk."

Gino glanced at Schmidt, "I'll give you a chance. Let the boy go and get out of here."

His tone was flat, as if he were discussing a trivial matter.

However, the air around them seemed to solidify, making it difficult for Schmidt to breathe.

Greed overcame fear in Schmidt's heart, and he raised his head, "I don't think you're faster than a gun, I..."

"Buzz!"

Before he could finish, a blazing red light flashed through the dense forest.

"Pa!"

The raised head exploded with a deafening crack, like a watermelon dropped from a high bridge, splattering a mix of red and green – like paint – all over the boy below.

Gino extinguished the heat vision in his eyes and glanced at the headless corpse. "Now you know."
