Rage.
It's a wonderful emotion.
It fuels courage, emboldens the timid, and unleashes the beast of brutality hidden within every living being. Just a word, an action, or even a glance can awaken this ferocious beast.
At this moment, on the top floor of a building...
Three people and a corpse stood in the empty reception hall.
Lex shifted his feet towards the emergency exit. As a smart man, he planned to have a backup plan and find Bizarro.
No one noticed Lex. Even if they did, no one would care.
Gino and Clark locked eyes, seeing only each other.
There was certainly no ambiguity in that statement.
Knowing each other's strength, they both understood who their true opponent was.
"Clark."
Gino's hands hung loosely at his sides, seemingly unconcerned about the upcoming fight.
He even had time for small talk.
"You think I'm lecturing you, but have you ever considered..."
Gino raised his arm and slowly clenched his fist.
Air streamed out through his fingers, whistling from the sheer speed.
The boy finished his previously uncompleted sentence, "I'm just stating the truth."
Gino's words completely enraged Clark; his hands even trembled slightly with anger.
"So, you've always thought I was an idiot, reckless, ignorant, impulsive, right?"
Gino didn't speak, instead sweeping his gaze over Clark, his eyes full of pity, as if silently saying, "Yes, exactly."
"And even your decision to punch me is incredibly stupid."
Gino spoke again, pointing to his chest, a self-deprecating expression on his face. "I learned to ride horses at six, and from seven to nine, I received training from Ms. Shiva, the world's most powerful martial arts master."
"I have the best teachers in the world, and I possess the greatest talent."
"I can even give up Freeze Vision and fight you."
"Your only ending will be defeat."
Gino still had that calm and collected demeanor.
With the strength of a Kryptonian, why would he even bother learning martial arts?
That was because Gino had never forgotten that in the near future, General Zod would descend upon Earth with a group of Kryptonian outlaws.
He had been planning for the future since he was very young and had never slacked off.
Because Gino understood that with the same talent, the only thing that mattered was who worked harder.
Gino puffed out his chest and raised his head, just like a graceful medieval nobleman, and asked, "So, tell me your choice, Clark."
"Hmph."
Clark lowered his head, his gaze sweeping over Earl's headless corpse, and his already furious emotions surged again.
Clark roared out his intention, "I'm going to beat you to a pulp!"
Swish!
With just a slight exertion of force, Clark's figure flashed like a bolt of lightning as he charged towards Gino.
He raised his right fist and smashed it hard towards Gino's face.
But, Gino only slightly tilted his head and dodged Clark's fist.
Just as Gino thought, with the same talent, it came down to a contest of combat experience.
"I was knocked down a hundred times in Ms. Shiva's first class."
He needed to remember that his reaction speed wasn't slow back then, yet that woman still knocked him down easily.
However, the suffering he endured back then forged Gino's unparalleled combat experience.
He could even predict Clark's next attack just by watching the trajectory of his legs.
Gino easily dodged Clark's punches, his upper body and legs coordinating to constantly twist and turn, evading the blows.
If you zoomed out and slowed down the action, it would look like a very unfair boxing match.
It was like a rookie just starting out, throwing punches at an experienced boxer.
"Hoo… Hoo."
Clark continuously threw punches.
At normal speeds, the fight between the two was just a blur of intertwined afterimages.
Panting heavily, Clark gritted his teeth, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. Thousands of punches had left him drenched, and while he could endure the physical exhaustion, Clark found Gino's reaction even harder to accept.
Facing his all-out assault, Gino dodged with ridiculous ease.
It was as if he were proving his words: "You have no chance."
Another wind-whipped punch was easily dodged by Gino, and Clark, breaking down, roared, "Are you only going to dodge?"
Hearing Clark's words, Gino sighed.
He dodged another right hook aimed at his cheek, and the youth said indifferently, "You brought this on yourself."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Gino stopped dodging. His legs planted firmly on the hall floor, and the hands that had been behind his back shot forward.
"Whack!"
An arm clamped onto Clark's arm, and then Gino yanked hard.
The immense force transferred through the arm, Gino's swift attack giving Clark no time to think.
Seeing the panicked Clark pulled towards him, Gino didn't hold back, lifting his right knee.
"Boom!"
The fierce knee strike slammed into Clark's tender abdomen.
The intense pain caused Clark to knit his brows, his body bending over like a shrimp.
But Gino didn't stop his assault.
The young man raised his elbow and slammed it into Clark's back again.
Bang!
Another swift blow landed on Clark's back.
The rapid attacks resembled a well-practiced combination, leaving Clark unable to lift his head.
Gino grabbed Clark's arm again and executed a clean and decisive over-the-shoulder throw, slamming Clark to the ground.
Thud!
Clark, who was fiercely attacking just a moment ago, was now sprawled on the floor in a sorry state, his eyes filled with confusion and shame as he stared up at the ceiling.
Just as Gino had said, he had lost.
Gino was far superior in speed, strength, and reaction time.
Looking down at Clark, who was lying on the ground, weak, Gino showed no mercy. He raised his fist and rained blow after blow on Clark's face.
As he hit him, the young man said, "How much longer do you intend to..."
The whistling fist was packed with immense power, slamming into Clark's handsome face like a hammer.
Crimson blood streamed from Clark's nostrils; he had never been so humiliated.
"...last?"
Another punch landed. At this moment, Clark's eyes were unfocused, and everything before him blurred.
His eye sockets were swollen, and his ears were ringing.
He seemed to… seemed to see three Ginos waving their fists at him.
"To grow stronger!"
Gino's roar exploded in Clark's ears.
Clark watched the raised fist, clearly understanding the immense power it contained.
The final punch… he would die, wouldn't he?
Clark watched the fist fall, brushing past his cheek and smashing the concrete floor beside his ear, leaving a huge fist mark.
"This is for Lex."
Clark heard Gino's voice, his handsome face full of mockery: "You survived. You should thank yourself for saving Lex."
"That saved your life."
Ignoring Clark, who was lying on the ground covered in blood, Gino rubbed his aching fists and slowly stood up.
The young man walked away, his voice light, "We're even, Clark."
