The screams and wails of the two vampires soon died down, and the forest was soon enveloped in silence.
Jarek now stood over their bodies, his eyes full of coldness and brutality as he looked at the two.
For two hours, he had made sure that they begged for death, especially Luneth, who was the one who took his mother's life with his own hands.
Their bodies were now unrecognizable from before, and they were lying in a pool of their own blood.
They were dead beyond doubt.
Once Jarek saw that, his expression momentarily became nostalgic as he gazed into the sky.
'I have finally avenged you, mother. You can now rest in peace.'
Jarek wiped the tear flowing from his eyes as he remembered the moments of happiness he had with the mother he was lucky to have in this life.
Though the time they spent together wasn't particularly long, he would never forget those memories for the rest of his life.
Fifteen minutes later, Jarek finally managed to gain his composure, and he looked in the direction of Arvenca town.
"The night is still young. There's one still left."
He walked up to the two corpses and burned them to ashes.
He then headed deeper into the forest, running at his full speed.
It didn't take him long to spot eleven figures, nine who were bound and kneeling, and two vampires who stood next to them as if they were guarding them.
But just as Jarek had noticed them, they also noticed his approach.
The vampires were the first ones who managed to perceive his approach.
But before they could react to his presence, one of the vampire's heads flew from his neck, and he died instantly.
Jarek didn't want to waste any more time and slashed at the other vampire.
Not wanting to die, the vampire tried to fight back.
But alas, Jarek was too fast and with one swift motion, Jarek stabbed his sword into his heart, and the man collapsed to the ground, having breathed his last.
Jarek then looked at the nine familiar faces who were bound.
Their faces were full of relief.
They were scared of what their fate would be after falling back into the hands of the vampires who had captured them years ago.
As he freed one of them, he expressed his thanks.
Jarek calmly accepted his gratitude, while inwardly thinking, 'That guy was really meticulous.'
He was, of course, referring to Thrain.
One of the reasons he was even able to find the hostages was because of Thrain.
When he used his escape treasure, he was going to escape in this direction.
When he spots a treasure similar to the one he saw Thrain use nearby, he realizes that Thrain wasn't just planning to escape.
No, he was planning to use these hostages as a last resort.
He had to kill Jarek today, because he was sure that if Jarek lived, he would surely die.
He really had quite a lot of hidden cards that made him a force to be reckoned with, a powerful blood-related ability, a High Grade spear, and a space-type escape treasure.
It was too bad he didn't have any special resources.
Jarek didn't know that Thrain had used one to forcibly break through to the Grandmaster Stage.
Once it is Nell's turn to be released from his bindings, he displays a look of guilt on his face, as he was the person who spilled every information he knew about Jarek to Thrain in a moment of fear.
But surprisingly, even though Jarek knew, he didn't say anything.
For a moment, everyone thought that he didn't know, but they kept quiet, knowing that if Thrain had turned to them first, they would have acted the same.
Jarek understood that there was nothing more precious than saving one's own life.
That is why he admired the loyalty that the four Grandmasters and Verana had towards Jurgen to even die for him, even if it was misplaced.
It was something he didn't know he could do for anyone.
Once he had freed everyone and assured them that the vampires would no longer be a threat, he pointed in the direction of the town. "The town's that way. If you would excuse me, I have an urgent matter I have to deal with."
As he said so, he moved to leave in the same direction at full speed.
Outside the mayor's mansion, two guards stood guarding the gate to the mansion.
Their cultivation was at the Grandmaster Stage.
They soon notice a person covered with a cloak heading in their direction.
It didn't take long for them to realize the cloaked figure's destination, the Mayor's Mansion.
"Halt! State what brings you here?"
But the cloaked figure doesn't speak a single word, and keeps walking as if he hadn't heard the guard speak.
The Grandmaster then draws out his sword, aiming to kill the disrespectful intruder, when his head suddenly bursts open and his blood sprays everywhere.
Strangely, not a single drop of blood lands on the intruder's cloak, as he was using his energy to form a layer of protection.
The second guard, witnessing the death of his colleague, has eyes wide open in surprise and terror.
'I didn't even sense the attack. An Empyrean!' The guard speculated.
But before he could speak, he soon suffered the same fate as his colleague.
The intruder opened the gate and calmly walked in, as if he hadn't killed the guards outside.
Those inside were already alerted, and the intruder walked inside only to find four Grandmasters ready to face him.
Once they saw him, and they couldn't tell his cultivation level, they soon came to the realization that they were facing an Empyrean.
"Sir, may this humble one ask..." But before one of the Grandmasters could finish what he wanted to say, he was sent flying by an invisible force, crashing into the building, and a hole the size of a football could be seen in his body.
The others were startled, but their eyes turned resolute once they realized they couldn't reason with the intruder.
He was here for blood!
Inside the mansion, Jurgen, who lay in bed with Selena in his arms, was startled by the noise coming from the outside and woke up from his sleep.
He freed himself from Selena, an act which also woke her up.
"What with all the ruckus? Are we under attack or something?" Although he said that, he didn't believe such a thing could happen.
But even so, he still needed to see what was going on.
He dressed himself properly and left the room, leaving Selena behind.
When Jurgen opened the door to the outside, his eyes widened at the scene in front of him.
Then his body shook in rage. "How dare you!?"
