As the female Grandmaster fled, Jarek was pursuing her, and he was slowly closing the distance between them.

As Jarek observes her, Verana turns around only to see that Jarek is rapidly narrowing the gap between them.
She could only blame herself for her mistake. 'If only I hadn't taken that shot and left to warn master. Now it's useless.'
However, she didn't know that even if she had chosen to leave, Jarek's actions would have remained the same.
Worry crept into her heart as she continued to run. 'I can't keep running forever. What should I do?'
Eventually, Jarek would catch up to her.
In that case, her current actions were meaningless.
"If my end is inevitable, then I will go out with a bang."
As she says so, she stops running, coming to a halt.
Her energy contained within her core turns violent and rampant, eager to explode.
With a face full of determination, she is about to proceed with her next action when Jarek appears in front of her.
He strikes Verana with a palm containing a peculiar energy.
|Energy Seal|
Verana's energy, which had been threatening to explode, now becomes calm and docile, to Verana's astonishment.
'What...?"
But she isn't easily deterred.
She tries to gather her energy again, intending to self-destruct, but finds that she cannot manipulate the energy inside her core.
She could feel it, but no matter how she tried, she couldn't move it according to her will.
She couldn't comprehend why that was the case until she heard Jarek's next words.
"I really didn't think I would have to use sealing laws for the first time today."
Verana turned to look at Jarek, and she couldn't believe what she had heard.
She pointed at Jarek and tremblingly asked, "You... how many abilities do you have?"
At her question, Jarek just remained silent, making Verana's heart race as she thought, 'Does he have even more laws? Is he just like her? If so, we really never stood a chance against him.'
As she was thinking, Jarek walked over to her.
This pulled her out of her thoughts.
Jarek extended his hand and removed the cloak that was covering Verana at a speed she couldn't react to.
What Jarek saw was a young, beautiful woman with short brown hair.
Verana was looking at him with a gaze full of fear and anger.
She feared Jarek's strength and his abilities, which made her subconsciously compare him to another fierce figure.
At the same time, she felt angry at herself and at the man who would undoubtedly kill her master.
"Go ahead and just kill me." She knew that her fate was sealed, so she wanted Jarek to get this over with quickly.
'I'm sorry I failed you, master.'
Looking into her eyes, which held firm determination and an emotion that piqued Jarek's curiosity.
He raised his eyebrows and asked, 'Are you and your master lovers or something?'
Verana's eyes widened in surprise. 'How did he know?'
For some reason, Jarek felt that the feelings Verana held for Jurgen went beyond that of a master-subordinate relationship.
And while he was not completely correct, Jurgen didn't fail to lay his hands on his subordinate.
In fact, she was Jurgen's favorite woman and Selene's biggest competitor.
Although she knew her master didn't love her, she didn't mind.
After all, he was the one who saved her and gave her all she had.
Everything she is right now is because of Jurgen.
Seeing her reaction, Jarek confirms his suspicions. "It seems that is the case."
He then takes her storage bag and examines it.
Veran, who watched his actions, looked at him with disdain. "Don't bother, you won't find anything related to my master in there."
He only finds two daggers inside.
Jarek then calmly said, "I don't need to find anything related to your master to figure out his identity."
He then turned to look into her eyes. "It's the town mayor, isn't it?"
"What?" Veran was stunned.
She couldn't fathom how Jarek had figured out the identity of her master.
She was expecting him to only know after interrogating Thrain, and yet, without doing that, he had figured out everything.
"It is so obvious when you think about it. When I heard Thrain's story, I was fully convinced it was him."
"But he didn't even mention anything about the master. How could you...?" Verana was really struggling to understand how Jarek was able to piece everything together.
She wanted to know, even if it would be the last thing she would ever learn.
"Let me ask you. How many forces in this town have more than four Grandmasters? Only a select few come to mind. The fact that all of you possess different skills, with no single similarity, means you are not from cultivation organizations. For example, if you were actual assassins from an assassin organization, the other Grandmasters would possess skills similar to yours. But they didn't. And finally, this person would have to have the authority to allow Thrain to carry out his operations without problem, as long as they benefit from it. The mayor fits all of these conditions. And finally, your reaction was what made me 100% certain that it was the mayor." Verana takes this information into her mind, and she sighs with a defeated expression.
'We really never stood a chance.'
Jarek didn't waste any more words and swung his sword, ending Verana's life with a single swing.
Moments later, Jarek could be seen creating a ball of water.
He splashes the water at the two unconscious figures on the ground, who regain their consciousness.
When they raised their heads to look at the person standing in front of them, they couldn't help but tremble.
Jarek was towering in front of Thrain and Luneth, looking at them with an expression that made them shiver.
They could see in his eyes the emotions rarely seen from them.
Jarek couldn't wait to inflict the pain he felt all those years ago back to them tenfold.
The forest was soon filled with screams of the two, like pigs being slaughtered.
