"But can't the Academy Head just control his mind and hand him over to the sect? I don't see why the academy goes through with all this farce for all these years?"
The Deputy Academy Head then turned to look at him and said, "Ernst, that would be the height of sheer stupidity. If done right, a supreme grade talent can be the world's finest treasure at your fingertips. But if done wrong, it can be a cause of great disaster."
He then sighed and added, "If it were possible, we would have done it already. One thing prevents us from doing so, and that is karma. To be more precise, heavenly karma."
Ernst raised an eyebrow and, before he could ask the Deputy Academy Head to explain, the bearded man continued, "Talent and physiques are considered by many as a sign of heaven's favor. The higher one's talent is or the higher the grade of one's physique, the more of heaven's favor one has."
"Trying what you are suggesting comes with enormous risks. You would be afflicted with heavy karmic sin. You would then need to try and decrease it, which takes a very long time. And during that time, you will be faced with many problems because of the heavens. That is because you tried to steal a destiny granted by the heavens. And that is even if you succeed. These people's destinies are strong. They don't fall easily."
Ernst keenly listened to the elder's words. "And that is what happens when you try this out on medium-grade talents. The effect of doing that to high-grade talents would be unimaginable, let alone supreme-grade talents. And we discovered this long ago. A good example of this is when the Dolathra nobles wanted to control the Dao Empress a century ago."
Ernst's eyes widened as he finally understood what the bearded man was trying to imply. 'Nothing good comes from antagonizing a supreme grade talent. It just leads to ruin.'
Dolathra's situation serves as a warning of what might happen to us if they were to do the same.
"And that's not even the worst part." Ernst looked at the man as if asking, 'What could be worse than that?'
"Having such a large amount of karmic sin is like painting a target on your back. Do you know what happens when someone with karmic sin is killed?"
Ernst shook his head, indicating he didn't have a clue.
"You get an almost equivalent amount of karmic blessing. If the Order accumulates too much karmic sin. Can you picture what its fate would be?"
Ernst shivered the more he thought about it.
"The whole world will want to get rid of the Order, just to get a piece of the highest level of karmic blessing."
"So, instead of taking direct action, we use the same heavenly karma that protects them against them?"
The bearded man nodded. "Yes, the heavens will place the same karmic burden on them as regular people. The heavens are fair in that regard."
"In fact, when we do this, we are accumulating an enormous amount of karmic blessings. Now do you see why we do things the way we do?
Ernst nodded, finally convinced by the order's choices. "Thank you for enlightening me, grandfather."
"No problem. No problem. Unlike that foolish son of mine, you still have great potential. I believe that you will be able to join the sect as an outer disciple. Your future will be greater than mine." The elderly man said with a smile as he looked at his grandson.
Unfortunately, they had truly underestimated Jarek, along with almost everyone.
The trap would have worked fine on any other supreme grade talent, but on Jarek, who has the system, it was useless.
By the time they would realize that their trap had failed the moment it was sprung, it would be too late.
But for now, they remained blissfully unaware.
The arena soon witnessed many battles after Jarek's.
Some battles were so close that either fighter seemed to have an equal chance at winning.
These types of matches had most of the audience on the edge of their seats.
And then there were battles where victory and defeat were decided in a short period of time.
In one of these matches, a pink-haired student with unparalleled beauty took two minutes to defeat her opponent.
The attacks fired at her would constantly be off the mark because of her opponent's shaking.
And when she was close to her opponent, who was about to attack, he would clutch his head in pain out of nowhere.
The woman would then take the opportunity to launch the final attack, securing her win.
As he looked at her status, he immediately recognized the woman's means of attack.

'Mind and curse laws, huh?' Jarek kept this information in his mind, but he felt that she wasn't that much of a threat.
In another match, Astrid defeated her opponent using a straightforward approach.
She used earth laws to defend against her opponent's attacks and took him down with her spear.
Faced with Astrid's flawless defense and terrifying offense, her opponent suffered a rather quick defeat.
Brynhild's match lasted for quite a bit before her opponent's qi ran out and was defeated without her expending much effort.
There were also other talents like Asvald, a dwarf who fought using a large hammer and a shield.

Contrary to Jarek's expectation when he came to this world, dwarves weren't as short as he thought they would be.
They were a bit shorter than the average person, but not in the same exaggerated manner they were portrayed as in Earth's stories.
In fact, they looked like humans, but what distinguished them from humans were their pointy ears, which looked like those of the elves.
Asvald's fighting style was similar to Astrid's, but his defense was even more impeccable.
Jarek thought that if Asvald and Astrid were at the same level, Astrid would have a hard time cracking Asvald's defense.
The same was true for Asvald's current opponent, who faced this issue.
Faced with this impenetrable defense, Asvald easily secured his first win.
And then there was a catkin whose agility was unmatched.

With two daggers in hand, he would dance around the enemy, making it difficult to keep catch him.
Not to mention the opponent's responses were always delayed by the cat-kin's strange but familiar ability.
Jarek recognized the ability as soon as he saw it.
It was an ability similar to Jarek's Shadow Bind.
Soon, with a dagger to his neck, Klaus's opponent was forced to admit defeat.
And then there was another strange demon whose attacks were incredibly fast.
His opponents would be defeated before they realized how.
The day's matches soon came to an end with everyone having participated in their matches except for one lucky person who managed to move on to the next round without fighting.
Jarek was now in his room cultivating deep into the night, reflecting on the day's matches as he increased his unattributed qi capacity.
If anyone walked into this scene, no matter how composed they were, their mouths would be hanging wide open.
Because what Jarek was doing was absurd.
Cultivating both unattributed and attributed qi at the same time was unheard of across all stages.
It was common sense that one can only cultivate one type of qi at a time.
Jarek had also thought so when he was new to cultivation, but soon after some experimentation, he discovered this operation was also possible.
Other cultivators had to dedicate a specific amount of time to each type of cultivation.
At one time, they would be developing their unattributed qi, and at another time, they would now focus on their laws.
This was why their progress wasn't as fast as they wanted it to be.
With his energy gaining the characteristics of Genesis qi, his control over all types of energy could only be described as transcendent.
These limitations didn't apply to him.
His body would just absorb the world's energy, and it wouldn't interrupt his focus when he was cultivating his laws.
That night, Jarek didn't sleep but delved even deeper into his cultivation throughout the night.
But he was not the only one engrossed with his cultivation at this time of the night.
