Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

They mentioned a name... Arkisha," Henry added.

"I need to talk to whoever this Arkisha is to clear up all the questions in my mind," Henry said determinedly.

"Henry," Vin called. The two looked at Vin.

"It seems unlikely that you will get what you want," Vin said.

"What do you mean, Vin?" Nat asked.

"The name you mentioned, she's the daughter of Captain Nayong. She's been missing for a long time and is presumed dead."

Henry looked at Vin in shock.

"Presumed? So it's not certain? There's still hope!" Henry replied.

"Henry, even if it's not certain, it's been over three hundred years," Nat said sadly.

"The rumor is that when the dwarves attacked their palace, she suddenly disappeared. Some say she was taken by the dwarves and offered to their leader. Others say Captain Nayong banished her because she was conspiring with the dwarves," Nat added.

"What you heard is wrong, Nat," Vin disagreed. The two looked seriously at Vin.

"This is what really happened. My grandfather, who used to live near their palace, said seven dwarves attacked to warn Captain Nayong's realm," Vin explained.

"A warning?" Henry asked.

"Yes, a warning that the monsters' revenge was coming," Vin continued.

"But wait, how does that connect to Arkisha's disappearance?" Henry asked.

"Arkisha supposedly left or fled the palace to help the dwarves because her father didn't believe them. There was a past conflict between the two. So, Arkisha disappeared, and no one knows what happened to her after that," Vin answered.

The three continued their discussion about Arkisha's story.-----The next day, Vin hurried into the classroom. He found his classmates and teacher in the middle of a lesson.

Professor: John Kevin Garcia! This is your second warning. If there's a third, don't bother coming in! Sit down!

Vin quickly ran to his seat and glared at Henry.

Vin: Why didn't you wake me up?!

Vin asked angrily.

Henry: You said I should go ahead, right?

Henry replied teasingly.

Nat: Psst! I think I have a solution to talk to Arkisha.

Henry's mood brightened at Nat's words. He trusted Nat greatly. Nat's father was known for his healing abilities, while her mother was renowned for her foresight. After their Potions class, they immediately went to the library.

Nat: We need to find the Book of Life. It's used to temporarily bring a soul back to life.

In the midst of silence, Natasha suddenly laughed.

Nat: Haha, your faces are funny.

Vin: You're scary.

Henry: Wait, how are we going to do that?

Nat: The ritual is usually done at the grave of the soul to be revived. Since we don't know where her body is, we need to find her belongings.

Henry: Where are we going to find those?

Henry: Didn't you say Arkisha has a grave here? Maybe she has belongings there or in Mikel's room.

Nat: For now, it's important to find the book first. Then we can look for Arkisha's belongings. They searched for the Book of Life, an ancient book used by spiritists to communicate with departed souls.

Unfortunately, the three couldn't find the book they were looking for.

They had searched all three libraries in the school but found nothing. While resting at a table, someone approached them.

Librarian: Kids, what are you looking for? Maybe I can help.

Henry: The Book of Life.

Vin: Hey, why did you tell her?

Librarian: The Book of Life? Why do you want to speak to a soul? Do you know the ritual is dangerous?

Nat: How is it dangerous? Wasn't the ritual used before?

Librarian: Child, don't you wonder why it's hard to find that book?

Henry: Why is that?

Librarian: Because all the copies of that book were burned due to its harmful effects on souls. Some say the book strengthens Bakunawa's power.

Henry: So the book doesn't exist anymore? Not a single copy?

Librarian: That's right. If I were you, I'd find something else to occupy my time with instead of these foolish things. Now, excuse me.

After the librarian left, the three immediately talked again.

Nat: If the book isn't in the school, it might be in another library that's bigger and more guarded.

Vin: Didn't you hear what the librarian said? There's no copy of the book left.

Nat: You don't believe that, do you?

Vin and Henry looked at Nat curiously.

Nat: Think about it. To stop people from asking about and searching for a dangerous book, they would say that the dangerous book doesn't exist anymore. Get it?

The three laughed together.

However, not far away, a mysterious man was watching them.

Unknown POV

He placed a black book near the row of magic and ritual books in the library, ensuring that the three students of Arcania would find it.

He knew the chaos that book would bring to the school, and he wanted chaos to start within Arcania itself.

This way, his assigned task would be easier to accomplish.
