Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

Professor Leo POV

Professor Leo woke up with a strange feeling. He stood up from his bed and slowly peeked out the window. He noticed something unusual coming from the direction of the cemetery. On the other hand, the moonlight was shining brightly.

A moment later, someone knocked on his door, seemingly anxious.

Leo: Oh, good evening, Charles. Why do you seem uneasy? What's your purpose?

Charles: Professor, there's a problem.

Leo: A problem? What kind of problem?

The professor signaled for Charles to enter his room.

Charles looked around the professor's room quietly, seeking reassurance. He stopped when he saw a framed painting. The professor also looked at the direction the young man was staring at.

Leo was taken aback and felt something strange.

Charles: Professor? What do you think? Is this a big problem?

Professor: Go to the head teachers and call for a meeting immediately.

Charles: Yes, Professor!

Leo was left worried because of the missing picture in the painting.

-Present-

Meanwhile, Mikel was left staring blankly at the extinguished candles. He was even more shocked when the moonlight hit a framed painting that seemed blank, without a picture of his beloved Arkisha.

Mikel: Arkisha? Arkisha?

Mikel desperately called out the name of his beloved. After a few moments, he approached the painting and looked around every corner of the room. When he was sure that Arkisha's presence was no longer there, he immediately remembered the Book of Life that Nat had taken, so he quickly left and followed in the footsteps of the three students.

While running, Mikel suddenly noticed the lights turning on at the school, accompanied by the sound of the trumpet, which made him stop. He pondered for a moment because he knew the significance of that trumpet sound at such an odd hour of the night. He quickly turned around and ran swiftly towards the school.

Charles POV

While conducting his nightly patrol, Charles noticed a strange light coming from the direction of the cemetery. A moment later, he stood in front of a painting where Professor Isko's picture seemed to have disappeared. He curiously stared at the painting and then looked at the other paintings hanging in the school hallway. He was shocked to find that all the pictures seemed to be missing from their respective frames.

He immediately went to Professor Leo to inform him of the strange occurrences. When he reached the professor's door, he knocked five times.

The professor immediately opened the door, looking puzzled.

But he quickly composed himself when he heard Charles' trumpet. He prepared himself to face all the teachers regarding the urgent meeting.

--In the Hall--

Leo: Listen, everyone! I know you are wondering where the people in the paintings are. Even I am puzzled about their whereabouts. There is only one person I know who can give us answers.

Leo looked at Mikel, who was now standing near the door.
