Chapter 27 - Chapter 26: The Evil Wizard Babidi

The World Martial Arts Tournament… was no longer just a tournament.

A hush of tension had rippled through the crowd as strange new faces appeared. Colorful, unfamiliar warriors—Shin and Kibito—stood silently among them, but their presence alone distorted the atmosphere.

Rykon's gaze sharpened.

The tournament board says those two are Shin and Kibito... but this isn't just some martial arts event anymore. Something else is happening here. Something big.

Beside him, Goku crossed his arms. "Yeah… I'm with you on this one."

Android 18 narrowed her eyes, her instincts prickling. "They're not just people," she muttered. "There's something… unnatural about them."

Vegeta scoffed, a smirk twitching at the corner of his mouth. "Tch. Overreacting, the lot of you."

The announcer's voice thundered, oblivious to the undercurrents.

"LET THE WORLD TOURNAMENT BEGIN!"

The Matches Begin

Krillin set the tone, dismantling his opponent with ease. But when Piccolo stood across from Shin in the next match, something shifted.

Piccolo's pupils contracted.

What… What is this feeling?

His muscles locked, his heart quickened.

This isn't right. Who is this guy?!

Shin's calm voice pierced the tension, like a cold wind brushing against Piccolo's thoughts.

"Let's just enjoy the game… for now."

Piccolo took a step back, sweat beading at his temple.

No. I'm done. I'm not fighting this.

He forfeited. The crowd erupted in confusion and outrage.

"What's going on?!" Gohan leaned over the railing, eyes wide.

Rykon narrowed his gaze.

Piccolo never quits… Unless he knows something we don't.

A God Revealed

Back in the waiting room, Piccolo caught Shin's sleeve. His voice trembled.

"You're not… the Grand Kai, are you?"

Shin gave a small smile, walking past him.

"No," he replied softly.

Kibito stepped forward, his tone sharper. "He is the Supreme Kai."

Piccolo's breath hitched. His heart pounded in his chest.

The Supreme Kai? The god who rules above all Kais…? So the legends were true.

When Goku noticed Piccolo's shaken face, he tilted his head. "Something wrong? You want me to—"

"NO!" Piccolo snapped, his eyes darting. "Don't. Say. Anything."

Videl vs Spopovich

The tournament continued.

Videl stood her ground against the monstrous Spopovich, but his unnatural strength overwhelmed her. Every punch she threw was answered by something inhuman—something grotesquely wrong.

Goku clenched his fists. "Something's off about that guy. It's like… he's using power that isn't even his."

Rykon growled, his eyes narrowing.

No kidding! Look at him… That's not normal. I can't stand this.

Blood splattered across the tiles as Spopovich stomped Videl's head into the ground.

Gohan's aura snapped awake, golden light swirling violently. "That's enough! I'll kill him!"

Krillin grabbed his shoulder. "Hey! Calm down—"

"No!" Gohan's teeth clenched. His rage ignited like wildfire.

I won't let this go on!

An Unexpected Attack

As Spopovich prepared to end Videl, Yamu interrupted, his voice cold and calculated.

"That's enough. We have more important tasks."

Spopovich sneered, tossing Videl out of the ring like trash. She crashed to the floor, motionless.

Gohan rushed to her side, his voice cracking. "Videl! Stay with me!"

But Spopovich and Yamu walked away—empty, hollow puppets.

Rykon's Test

When it was Rykon's turn to fight Kibito, things only got stranger.

"Show me your Super Saiyan form," Kibito demanded, his eyes steady.

Rykon raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And why would you know about that?"

Kibito simply replied, "You'll find out soon enough."

Piccolo gave Rykon a small nod from the sidelines.

Trust him. Just do it.

With a smirk, Rykon shrugged. "Fine then. Don't cry when I beat you."

His aura exploded. Electricity cracked the air—Super Saiyan 2. Sparks danced along his arms as the crowd stared, stunned.

Ambush

Before Rykon could bask in the moment, Spopovich and Yamu charged.

What now?! His body tensed.

"Aww, that's cute."

But before he could react, Supreme Kai raised his hand—and Rykon's body froze.

Wh-What the hell? I can't move!

Pain shot through him as Yamu stabbed a strange device into his side, draining his energy. His vision blurred, his body collapsed.

"GAAAAAHHH!"

Damn it… When I get free, you better run…

Aftermath

Gohan screamed, his aura flaring uncontrollably. "UNCLE RYKON!!"

Goku knelt beside his brother, his voice tense but focused. "He's still alive… barely."

Yamu held up the energy container. "We've got it."

They flew away before anyone could stop them.

The True Threat Revealed

Supreme Kai gathered the Z Fighters.

"An evil wizard named Babidi is behind this," he explained as they raced through the sky. His tone was grave. "He's trying to revive Majin Buu."

Rykon awoke mid-flight, groaning. "Majin Buu, huh? Sounds like fun."

Kibito frowned. "Fun? You fool! Our job is to stop his revival, not welcome it."

"Hey, relax," Rykon said, stretching. "I've been itching for a fight for seven years."

Gohan sighed, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "Typical Saiyan…"

Spying on Babidi

They landed silently on a cliff, gazing down at a sinister ship.

Below, Babidi laughed, his shrill voice echoing. "Excellent! The energy collection was a success."

Next to him, Dabura—the King of the Demon Realm—stood silently.

Kibito's face twisted. "That's Dabura… Babidi's made him a slave."

Rykon clenched his fists.

Another bug to squash.

But Kibito's warning rang in his ears. "Dabura is no ordinary enemy."

Betrayal and Death

As Babidi chattered, Pui Pui—one of his lackeys—obliterated Spopovich and Yamu with a blast. Their bodies turned to ash.

Rykon rolled his eyes.

Figures. I wanted to kill them myself. People are so selfish nowadays.

Dabura's Attack

Suddenly, Dabura vanished—and reappeared right beside them.

Before anyone could react, he fired a blast into Kibito's chest. Blood splattered. Kibito collapsed, dead before he hit the ground.

Dabura flipped into the air, spitting on Piccolo and Krillin. Their bodies hardened, transforming into stone.

Shin's eyes widened in horror. "No…! They've been turned to stone! Unless Dabura dies, they cannot be saved."

Rykon's aura flared. "Then we'll kill him."

Dabura's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Leave now. You cannot stop Lord Babidi."

With a single motion, he disappeared into the ship.

Inside Babidi's Ship

They followed, dropping into the first chamber. The walls glowed ominously.

Pui Pui awaited them.

Vegeta cracked his neck. "So who's first?"

They played rock-paper-scissors. Vegeta won. "Because I'm number one," he smirked.

Pui Pui snarled. "This is where you die! Any energy you waste will be absorbed for Majin Buu!"

Vegeta smiled darkly. "Good. Then if I kill you in one shot, no energy gets stolen, right?"

Before Pui Pui could answer, Vegeta lunged. His fist smashed into Pui Pui's gut, sending him crashing into the wall.

The Gravity Trap

Babidi's voice echoed. "Papparapapa!"

The room warped—shifting to Pui Pui's home planet. The gravity multiplied tenfold.

Vegeta didn't flinch. "Ten times gravity? Pathetic."

Pui Pui's confidence crumbled. "Y-You're bluffing!"

Vegeta crushed him without breaking a sweat. Pui Pui's body disintegrated into the air.

Next Challenge: Yakon

They descended to the next floor.

This time, a hulking beast with razor fangs awaited them.

Shin whispered, "That's Yakon… the demon beast."

Rykon sighed, scratching his head. "Glad it's not my turn."

Goku smiled, stepping forward. "I've got this."

Babidi's Panic

From his magic orb, Babidi's eyes bulged in disbelief as Goku tore Yakon apart.

"What ARE these people?!" he shrieked.

Dabura placed a hand on his chest. "Worry not, Lord Babidi. I will handle the rest."

His crimson eyes gleamed.

"No one in this universe can defeat me."

Somewhere, in a distant realm…

A purple cat stirred from his slumber.

"ACHOO!"

His attendant blinked. "Lord Beerus? Are you alright?"

The God of Destruction rubbed his nose, a curious smirk forming.

"Hmph. Someone just made a bold statement."

He closed his eyes again, drifting back to sleep.

Final Floor: Dabura Awaits

The heroes dropped to the third level.

Dabura stood, arms crossed, his demonic aura crackling.

"Impressive," he said with a grin. "But this is where your luck ends."

Vegeta's eyes gleamed. "Looks like Babidi's getting desperate."

Dabura's voice turned cold. "Enough chatter. Come at me—all of you."

The heroes stepped forward, fists clenched, energy swirling around them.

The real battle was about to begin.
