"So what are you doing later tonight? I would rather escape than sit at that boring dinner table," Damon said, twisting his mouth.
"I would be busy with the family that raised me, another boring dinner table," I said, making sure to bring down his expectations.
"Oh, come on, Ari, it can't be that bad," Damon persuaded.
"I don't want to be the reason you miss a palace event. Besides, my family can't take visitors right now, Mon," I deflected.
"I think you should leave, Ari, alone. This whole thing is just too impromptu for her," Tristan said in a calm tone.
The shade in the atmosphere was increasing as night grew closer. By this time, we were already nearing the enchanted woods, and I knew it was time to ask them to leave.
"You can stop here now," I said, stopping dead in my tracks.
"Why? But we are still in the middle of the forest, anything can happen to you," Aven protested.
