Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Aokiji-san~

"Please reconsider!"

"I'm not selling."

Orin secretly sighed. Was there such a thing as an unlucky day in the world of One Piece? Maybe today just wasn't a good day to step outside.

He only went downstairs to grab some breakfast, and now he was being harassed by some sword-obsessed freak.

He couldn't exactly say he was a great swordsman himself—that would only invite more interrogation. But if he insisted the sword was just a collectible, they'd think he was wasting a national treasure.

So annoying.

If he'd known this would happen, he wouldn't have come to Marineford. He should've just warped to Impel Down and disguised himself as a guard instead—more straightforward that way.

"Ah la la... Namira, Rinari, finally found you. That Garp-san and Tsuru-san are currently—"

Just as Orin was losing his patience, a familiar voice echoed from the other side of the street.

The moment he heard it, Orin looked up at the sky and sighed.

Figures. He really shouldn't have come out today.

Of all places in Marineford… he had to run into his nemesis.

"Huh? It's Rear Admiral Kuzan. Please hold on a sec, I'm currently—"

Namira and Kuzan had known each other since their days at the Naval Academy. So his sudden appearance wasn't surprising, and she greeted him casually.

She was just about to explain she was busy, but the sudden wave of icy cold that spread inch by inch left her dumbfounded.

No way...

Was being late to a meeting really that serious?

"Orin!!!"

To her surprise, Kuzan didn't even glance her way—instead, he glared murderously at the person standing beside her. His expression was terrifying.

Namira had never seen Kuzan, usually so lazy and laid-back, look so serious.

"What? Are you talking to me?" Orin was still trying to play dumb, an innocent look plastered across his face.

"Hah? You think I wouldn't recognize you just because you changed clothes and put on sunglasses? Are you kidding me, bastard?! My hatred for you has never wavered!!!"

Having spent years chasing the Roger Pirates with Garp, Kuzan was arguably the one who knew Orin best in the entire Navy. He was also the one who'd been tricked by Orin the most.

Eventually, during pursuits, unless it was a direct boarding battle, Kuzan would never show himself on deck—just to avoid this damn guy.

If anyone knew just how terrifying it was to combine foresight with Armament Haki and Seastone bullets...

If Kuzan was second…

No one dared claim first.

As Kuzan's killing intent materialized in full force, Orin sighed.

He casually removed his sunglasses, revealing a calm and perfectly composed smile.

Almost the moment he took off his sunglasses, a freezing black fist filled his vision inherited from Garp himself came barreling toward Orin's face.

Yet the blackened fist did nothing to erase Orin's faint smile.

The punch landed.

Smoke and frost burst across the area, shrouding the street in swirling mist. But everyone present had mastery of Observation Haki—they all clearly saw what happened.

Namira and Rinari finally reacted.

That tall figure in sunglasses… was a pirate?!

"He disappeared instantly?"

"That speed... is it Soru?"

Rinari calmly analyzed.

Namira, however, was seething with shame and anger. To be toyed with by a pirate in the heart of Marine HQ? Furious, she drew her famed blade.

"If it was just Soru, it wouldn't escape the range of Observation Haki. It's probably a Devil Fruit ability... Hey, you two be careful. That guy's not easy to deal with."

While warning his companions, ice rapidly spread out from Kuzan's feet.

"That guy was once a crew member of the Roger Pirates. As much as I hate to admit it, his strength was comparable to Roger in his younger years. User of all three types of Haki. Great swordsman. Master of Observation Haki. Possesses an unknown fruit ability."

"A pirate with a bounty of a billion—Black Gun Orin!"

Kuzan's expression was deadly serious. As much as he despised Orin's actions, he had to admit:

This man was worthy of being his lifelong rival.

Just like Roger was to Vice Admiral Garp—someone he vowed to capture.

At this point, Kuzan wasn't yet the jaded man shaped by the Ohara incident. He still followed the path of "Burning Justice."

And now, facing this hot-blooded Kuzan… Orin had no choice but to accept that he couldn't bluff his way out.

Time to play for a bit… then make a clean getaway.

With that thought, Orin's figure suddenly appeared behind Namira.

"Sorry, dear Navy lady. Could you return my sword?"

Before the words were fully out—

The moment her Observation Haki detected someone behind her, she reacted instantly.

Namira's slim waist twisted with explosive force, and her blade slashed out like a freezing meteor.

The sharp sword aura ripped across the ground, leaving gashes several meters long.

Now that she was sure Orin was a pirate, the kind and friendly image from earlier was gone.

She had become a bloodstained rose of the battlefield—one careless step, and you'd be torn apart.

"Already a swordswoman at your age? Scary woman indeed."

Fwoosh—

Before she realized it, Orin had once again appeared behind her.

His spotless coat and unhurried expression made it clear: that earlier deadly slash hadn't even touched his coat's hem.

...

Orin casually grabbed her wrist, the one holding the blade. With a slight exertion of strength, he easily twisted her arm and restrained her.

A sickening crack could be heard from her bones. Her hand trembled, and she involuntarily dropped the famed sword.

Pain twisted her face uncontrollably.

And the famed sword returned to its "rightful owner"…

Well, not really rightful. But close enough.

"You damn pirate! Get your hands off Namira!!"

A furious roar erupted nearby—like the battle cry of a man charging for love.

Rinari came charging forward, body crashing like a tank, his fists coated in thick Armament Haki.

Seeing Namira pinned, rage exploded in his eyes.

Namira, still restrained by Orin, saw Rinari charging and a glimmer of hope flashed in her gaze.

This guy's strength was overwhelming. If Rinari could hold him for even a second, she might have a chance to escape.

"Die!!!"

"Nice job, Rinari!!"

"Sigh... I really don't get what you people are so fired up about..."

Zheng—

In a flash, crimson Haki surged around Orin's leg.

He shot forward with an explosive kick.

Time seemed to freeze.

That black foot appeared squarely in front of Rinari's chest.

"…Na...ni!?"

Rinari's instincts screamed danger, but he couldn't react.

Then—

A sonic boom exploded.

Terrifying strength and flowing Haki slammed into his meaty frame.

His consciousness vanished almost instantly.

Rinari's burly body was launched at a speed faster than he'd charged in.

He smashed through building after building.

Namira watched in despair—

Until finally, Rinari landed in a pile of rubble, eyes rolled back.

Unconscious.
