Behind Chizumi, Izumi stood frozen, watching her senpai face down the entire Anbu division by himself. Guilt gnawed at her—this mission was supposed to end with her killing Shimura Danzo. But now Chizumi was protecting her from the consequences of her own weakness.
Even Jujirō, the ninja cat, spoke up:
"Rookie, just accept the trial Chizumi-sama set for you. Don't be so hesitant—he hates indecisive people. If you understand what he's trying to do, then follow through without flinching."
Izumi gave a firm nod, bit down hard, and forced her eyes toward the open door of the chamber.
Danzo was inside—only half a body left—glaring at her with a fury that refused to die.
She pulled out her blade and stepped into the room without looking back.
"Wait—stop!" an Anbu panicked. If the Hokage finds out Danzo was killed under their watch...
They'd all be held responsible.
Just as he moved to stop her, the room's temperature spiked—and he heard the unmistakable drip drip of lava hitting the floor.
Sweat drenched him. Was it the heat… or the fear?
He froze and turned toward Chizumi.
"No entry."
"Anyone who tries—dies."
Chizumi delivered the words calmly, like he was just stating facts.
The Anbu couldn't respond. Neither could Mitokado Homura.
…
Inside the chamber
Danzo lay strapped to a steel slab, eyes burning with rage and disbelief. He never imagined Chizumi would actually find him. He certainly didn't think he'd go this far.
What the hell was this brat?! Born evil like all Uchihas?
And now… a girl stepped into view.
Danzo suddenly realized—she was here to kill him.
What the hell?!
Chizumi had chased him down… and now wasn't even going to finish the job himself? He sent a no-name "sidekick" to do it?
What was that supposed to mean? Was he afraid of getting his hands dirty? Too good to do it himself?
Danzo wanted to scream, but his voice was long gone. All he could do was glare at the girl stepping closer.
He could see she was nervous—but beneath it, there was determination.
A while ago, he could've killed a kid like her with one hand. But now? All he felt was fear.
His limbs were bound to keep him from moving—what was meant to protect him was now a prison.
Where the hell is Homura? The Anbu?
Isn't this their own damn base?
They took his Sharingan, shut down his division, and now… abandoned him?
He thrashed on the table, making strangled noises. Fear and helplessness wracked his body.
"Chizumi-senpai is out there holding off the Anbu by himself. He must be under immense pressure.
But I'm too weak to help."
"He told me: Absolute Justice—when you eliminate evil, justice will reward you. That power makes justice even stronger. Don't fight it."
Her gaze locked onto Danzo.
She knew exactly what he'd done. He might look like a frail old man now, but she couldn't feel an ounce of pity.
"Danzo, did you ever once think about how your victims felt while you were ruining their lives?"
"Now it's your turn. What you're feeling right now—that's what they went through."
"Justice delayed may not be justice at all...
But someone's gotta deliver it."
Danzo's eye locked on her. In his head, he was screaming, You little Uchiha freak! Damn you! Damn you!
If he were an Uchiha, that rage alone might've awakened a Mangekyō Sharingan.
!!!
A flash.
A clean strike.
His vision spun—the girl vanished—and the last thing he saw… was the leg of the table.
Izumi had unconsciously copied Chizumi's execution technique. One swift swing—Danzo's head hit the floor and rolled.
She stared down at it.
Her face flushed unexpectedly.
She could feel the gift of Absolute Justice. This time the reward was enormous. Her chakra surged like never before—it left her stunned.
What kind of power gives you strength just for killing evil? It has to be Chizumi-senpai's Mangekyō Sharingan, right?
[Ding! Your Absolute Justice follower has killed a Red Named villain! Chakra increased! Congratulations! You've unlocked: Wood Release – Kekkei Genkai!]
Uchiha Izumi gains a massive chakra boost!
She has passed the final trial of justice and now has the ability to see through the evil in others!
Chizumi saw the pop-ups flash before his eyes. He smiled slightly.
Izumi had finally made it. The clumsy rookie had become something else entirely.
And Danzo, ironically, had left behind his most valuable gift to the ninja world: Wood Release.
The lava around Chizumi's hand hardened, then faded.
His cold, killing aura softened.
Homura saw it all—and finally understood:
Danzo… was dead.
Homura had never felt this conflicted.
He'd watched Hiruzen tremble under Chizumi's words and dismissed it as weakness. He'd seen Uchiha Fugaku get brushed aside and thought he had no presence. He'd even watched Koharu get verbally destroyed and felt she wasn't decisive enough.
Now it was his turn.
And he realized—he was even worse.
He couldn't even bring himself to order the Anbu to intervene. He had nothing.
His face twisted in silent shame.
He watched Izumi walk out of the chamber, blade soaked in blood.
"Danzo…"
Homura closed his eyes, grief and dread peaking.
Then, opening them slowly, he asked:
"If one day, you see me as evil like Danzo… would you kill me too?"
"Yes," Chizumi said.
The chill that ran through Homura was unlike anything he'd ever felt.
Years ago, he had even tried to compete with Danzo to lead Root. If he'd won…
He'd be the one lying dead right now.
Behind Chizumi, Izumi wiped her blade clean and sheathed it. She stood tall and declared:
"Danzo has been executed."
She still felt a bit dazed. A Konoha elder—dead by her hand.
Whatever illusion she had about "powerful people" shattered.
They weren't above judgment.
Justice could cut them down just like anyone else.
That was Chizumi-senpai's Absolute Justice.
Even someone like Danzo—position and rank meant nothing in front of it.
No mercy. No immunity.
"Good," Chizumi nodded slightly—his way of acknowledging her.
His eyes swept across Homura and the Anbu.
Calm. Unbothered.
And yet every person there felt a cold hand clench their heart.
They weren't even sure what sins they'd committed—but the fear still gripped them.
The smell of sulfur. The stench of blood. The weight of justice.
If it turned on them—what would be left?
They watched in silence as Chizumi left with his ninja cat and Izumi.
"…Homura-sama, should we…?" one of the Anbu asked hesitantly.
"Tell Hiruzen. And the Shimura clan. Post extra guards on Danzo's body. There are too many secrets hidden in it—we can't let them fall into the wrong hands."
Homura sighed, suddenly looking much older.
If Hiruzen had been here, maybe Danzo could have been saved.
But I'm just an advisor, after all.
"Yes, sir!"
…
Sarutobi clan compound
"Maybe I can actually sleep tonight," Sarutobi Hiruzen muttered, exhaling a puff of smoke.
Chizumi had caused all kinds of chaos lately.
Naruto. The Daimyō's son. Compared to that, a Koharu‑clan casualty felt minor.
"We won't be able to keep the Daimyō's son quiet much longer. I've no idea how we're going to explain this…"
As he sighed over his pipe, an Anbu rushed into the compound and knocked hard on his bedroom door.
"Hokage-sama! Uchiha Chizumi just broke into Anbu HQ and killed Shimura Danzo!"
"…What?!"
Cough! Cough cough!
The news hit so hard he choked on his smoke and snapped the pipe in half.
He rushed out, eyes locked on the Anbu.
"Say that again?!"
The Anbu repeated the message in full detail.
"Danzo's dead…"
Hiruzen had guessed Chizumi might eventually kill him—but not this fast.
And… he wasn't that sad.
Danzo had always been a rival. The man had even tried to take the Hokage seat from him. Now that he was gone?
Hiruzen was more shocked than anything.
Chizumi's been going nonstop all day… does he ever rest?
Then something clicked in his head.
"Wait. Who did he bring with him?!"
"A girl. From the Uchiha clan."
Hiruzen's emotions rollercoastered again.
"A girl—Uchiha… Izumi?!"
Finally, the weight on his chest lifted. He'd feared Chizumi had taken Naruto to kill Danzo.
And publicly, he couldn't afford to seem more upset about Danzo than Naruto.
That would've looked… bad.
Especially since everyone already assumed Danzo was his "black ops man."
"Come with me. We're heading to Root."
"Yes, Hokage-sama!"
…
Uchiha district, later that night
Under the quiet night sky, Izumi walked home alone.
Chizumi had told her:
"Mission complete. Go get some rest."
"Like hell I can sleep."
She ran a hand through her hair. The memory of Danzo's decapitation replayed again and again. Killing a high-ranking official felt… surreal.
But her understanding of Absolute Justice had deepened.
She felt her senpai's intent—despite his cold exterior and silent demeanor, he had always paid attention to those he cared about.
"Huh?!"
She froze.
Something felt off.
In a flash, she grabbed a kunai and threw it behind her.
Thwack!
The blade sliced past a fox-faced Anbu mask, embedding itself in a tree.
"You've improved a lot, Izumi," a cold, familiar voice said.
"Following that man… really changed you. Your growth has been shocking."
She turned fast.
Not far behind stood a short figure—mask removed, a fresh cut along the side.
That young face—she could never forget it.
"Uchiha… Itachi!!!"
Her hand gripped her sword. Three-tomoe Sharingan lit up instantly. She stepped back, gaze locked on the boy she once called a friend—now tainted by darkness.
"You still dare show your face in the Uchiha compound? If I scream right now, half the clan will come running to kill you."
Her voice was ice.
Itachi was silent for half a second.
"Izumi—"
"Call me Uchiha Izumi," she cut him off.
"Until you drop those thoughts and return to normal, we are not close."
She couldn't stand the idea of being called by name by someone who would one day kill her mother.
Itachi's face didn't flinch. He just said:
"I saw you and Chizumi leave the Root base. They said Danzo's dead. And that you killed him."
"Izumi… you've changed. I barely recognize you."
"Are you planning to go against Konoha?"
The air around them turned icy cold.
