The gigantic summoning beast, the Baku, whipped up a howling gale the instant it appeared, and the wind swept outward in every direction.

Amid the swirling sand and flying stones, even the six Root operatives standing in front of Danzō had trouble keeping their balance.

The Baku raised its head and looked up at the clashing Magma Dragon Head and Water Release techniques in the sky.

Opening its jaws toward the heavens, it rapidly brewed an even fiercer cyclone inside its mouth, which condensed into a huge, semi‑transparent wind sphere more than twenty meters across—clearly visible to the naked eye.

The moment the sphere blasted out of its mouth, it smashed the Magma Dragon Head in a single strike and scattered the six Water Dragon Bullets as well. The surging gale swept past like a typhoon, bending every tree for hundreds of meters around, and even trees a kilometer away shed their leaves.

Danzō had already leapt onto the Baku's head. His cloak flapped violently in the turbulent air, yet he stood there steady as a rock.

Expressionless, he formed hand seals and drew a deep breath.

"Wind Release…"

The Baku opened its mouth again, inhaling a vast volume of air.

"Wind‑Cutter Technique!!!"

Danzō and the Baku unleashed their Wind Release almost simultaneously. Two semi‑transparent blades of wind—one large, one small—tore through the air in an instant and shot toward Uchiha Chizumi!

Where they skimmed the ground, the blades sliced out two deep trenches.

"If I can't seal part of your body, then I'll shatter your whole self and seal every last piece. Let's see you come out unscathed this time!"

Murderous intent gleamed in Danzō's eyes.

He was convinced Chizumi's Lava Release had limits—after all, how could a mere kekkei genkai make someone an immortal monster?

The six Root shinobi attacked as well.

Wind, Water, Earth… every technique they thought might suppress Lava Release was hurled at Chizumi all at once.

"Baku… Danzō…" Sarutobi Hiruzen was rushing toward the disturbance, his face darker than thunder.

To summon something this dangerous inside the village—had Danzō forgotten who the Hokage was? Did he care nothing for innocent lives?

"Inoichi, what exactly happened?"

Running beside him, Yamanaka Inoichi answered bitterly, "Hokage-sama, I don't know what grievance Danzō-sama has with Chizumi. They ran into each other outside our clan compound, and before I could react they were already fighting."

Hiruzen felt a headache coming on.

Inside the Uchiha district, Fugaku stared at the distant spectacle.

"Baku… Magma…"

He realized Chizumi and Danzō were clashing again.

Last time, Chizumi had killed two Root operatives and exposed the Sharingan implanted in Danzō's arm, making Fugaku deeply wary of that high‑ranking official who coveted the clan's dōjutsu—so much so that he had grafted eye after eye onto himself without Uchiha consent.

Footsteps approached. Without turning, Fugaku knew it was his wife.

"Has Sasuke woken up yet?" he asked.

Mikoto shook her head. "He's still asleep."

Fugaku drew a long breath. "Stay with him. I'll go see what's happening."

Through the three‑tomoe Sharingan in Chizumi's eyes, the paths of both incoming Wind‑Cutter blades—one large, one small—were perfectly tracked.

With a razor‑fine twist of his body he slipped past them; the transparent blades missed him by barely ten centimeters, sending ripples across the lava flowing over his skin.

RUMBLE!

Behind him, the Yamanaka compound was cleaved into three sections by the twin wind blades, countless buildings shattered in the blast.

"Lava Release…

Meteor Volcano."

Facing the six Root shinobi, lava surged and swelled around Chizumi's right arm. When he punched forward, the arm had become an enormous, terrifying magma fist.

All their jutsu looked like paper toys before that titanic blow.

The eruption, like a volcano's blast, obliterated every technique in its path. Molten rock splattered outward, turning into dozens of deadly volcanic bombs.

Seemingly random, yet subtly targeted, the bombs rained toward the six Root shinobi, Danzō, the Baku, and the two giant tortoise summons.

One tortoise couldn't dodge in time.

A bomb over a meter wide slammed into its shell.

Confident in its sturdy carapace, it hadn't worried—until its eyes bulged in shock.

BOOM!

The bomb punched straight through the shell. Searing lava melted the carapace and bored into flesh; most of the creature's organs were cooked in an instant.

Agonizing pain overwhelmed it. Even when it finally thought to dodge, it was already too late.

BOOM!

A second bomb struck its skull dead‑center. It never even uttered a groan; a gaping hole opened in its head, its massive limbs collapsing beneath it.

The second tortoise, panicked, spewed torrents of water upward, trying to block the falling bombs—yet one still smashed its tail, vaporizing the limb entirely.

Shrieking, it dissolved in a puff of white smoke, unilaterally canceling the summoning and fleeing.

Chizumi's scarlet gaze flicked toward a Root shinobi whose eyes, visible beneath a mask, were wide with shock.

"…Not good!"

The man's heart lurched. He hurriedly formed seals to dispel any Sharingan genjutsu—only to look up and see volcanic bombs falling like rain. He couldn't tell real from illusion, nor which way to dodge.

BOOM!

A bomb slammed into the ground three meters behind him. A huge rock shot up and smashed the back of his head; droplets of molten lava sprayed like buckshot, boring into his flesh.

His body convulsed, then pitched forward. More than a dozen charred holes pocked his corpse, each rimmed with smoldering flames.

The remaining Root operatives had no choice but to throw up their strongest jutsu against the terrifying bombs or spring onto nearby civilian rooftops—having noticed that, while the projectiles didn't deliberately spare houses, most were crashing into open ground.

Even so, one more Root shinobi failed to escape and was swallowed by a blast—leaving not a trace behind.
