A purple hue steadily overtook Fraser's body, he couldn't move no matter how hard he tried.
"Huh?? What's happening?!" Panic overwhelmed him.
He was completely paralysed from head to toe.
A vicious laughter resounded before him as the enemy sorcerer struggled onto his feet, tightly gripping their bloody blade and putting it up to Fraser's neck. Droplets of blood coursed down his back as the sword slowly pressed against Fraser.
"What luck is this! The Void has blessed me yet again. Midnight blade venom… you truly are careless, kid."
He sighed before continuing.
"However, I'll admit you had me cornered. Killing you here would be a waste, submit to me, sign a Void enslavement pact and maybe I'll let you live, bud." The sorcerer muttered slowly.
Fraser was paralysed and surprised at the stupidity of this sorcerer. He couldn't sign a Void pact if he was unable to move…
The man waited for Fraser's answer, being inevitably met with silence.
"Hmph! Your arrogance will simply lead to your death."
The steel sword in the sorcerer's hand curled back before accelerating rapidly toward Fraser's neck, attempting to behead him.
Fraser much preferred signing the pact than dying. Even as a slave, he still had a fighting chance to reach his goals. However he couldn't currently convey this thought, the midnight blade venom had long since completely paralysed every one of his limbs.
Fraser had already accustomed himself to this feeling of impending doom. It had chased after him several times now, and each time he had barely avoided it by a hair's breadth. But because of these past experiences, he was now much calmer than before, after all, if not for his terrifying luck, he wouldn't be alive currently anyway.
Whoosh!
The blade cut through layer and layer of Fraser's neck, the intense pain being nullified by the venom coursing through his veins.
A twisted expression appeared on the sorcerer's face, as if enjoying the moment, before suddenly changing into a dark frown.
The cave suddenly illuminated as bright light shone in from inside the walls, the entire interior appearing like iridescent jewels rather than ordinary stone. A hazy humanoid floating figure appeared before the sorcerer, simply outstretching its finger toward him before the man was launched, hurling toward the rocks at an astonishing velocity.
His body was directly crushed by the immense force of colliding with the cave walls at such a speed, the man's blood stained the crystalline walls, causing the spirit-like entity to flash a look of disgust before slowly turning toward Fraser.
Fraser was lying face down, horror stricken from what he was hearing, the first thought that crossed his mind from this point was the idea that he was next on the chopping board.
The figure grabbed at Fraser's collar, before a large white band of incantations enveloped the cave.
The entire cavern completely underwent a mass reset, returning to the state it was before anybody had arrived, meanwhile Fraser and the mysterious entity vanished without a trace, leaving in their wake a faint trace of starlight.
