"Huh!?"
"An enslavement-type sorcerer? I've only heard of them before, but to see one this early." Fraser thought to himself.
Enslavement type sorcerers were sorcerers who specialized in enslaving wild beasts, be that through true taming, or forcefully enslaving. Enslavement sorcerers were quite rare, but experienced ones were treated extremely well in sects, clans and societies, mainly because strong enslavement sorcerers were able to take on multiple enemies at once, and possibly even fight sorcerers of higher tiers.
The one before Fraser emitted a dense tier two aura, his blade seeming ordinary and not an arcane weapon. They looked middle-aged, with short brown hair, a black eyepatch covering one of his green eyes, complementing the stubble developing on their chin. Black hunter garments covered the man, with silver plates on his shoulders, accentuating his well built frame and matching the longsword in his fairly dark skinned hands.
"A peak tier two sorcerer with three other tier two companions? Aren't you ashamed?" Fraser muttered.
"Will that matter over your lifeless corpse?" The man grunted in response, following it with a light chuckle.
The battle had finally begun.
Two wolves pounced toward Fraser, close behind them was the man, tightly gripping his blade while dashing toward Fraser in sync with the wolves.
Cloud Enhancement!
…
Earth Enhancement!
The aura of a tier one enhancement technique coated the man in the form of dust and sand, Fraser realized this was an earth type arcane, specializing in defense over anything else, so he decided to keep his distance and use his advantage in speed to slowly pick off the wolves.
And so he did. Only half an hour after the fight had begun, one wolf was dead and another was injured. But this did not decrease the strength of the man. Controlling enslaved beasts continuously consumed arcane stores, if they died, it would simply reduce arcane expenditure meaning the sorcerer could put this arcane into techniques that boosted their own strength.
But the man wouldn't let Fraser get rid of the rest of his wolves using such cheap tricks, he gathered the other two wolves near him, changing up his tactic. In the distance the injured wolf was curled up in a ball, wincing in pain as it gently licked its wounds. Small vines sprouted and coiled around the wounds of the injured wolf, healing it slowly, everywhere the vines went, the wounds would steadily disappear. The death of one of the wolves did not come without benefit, Fraser was exhausting his arcane, and endured a wound from that wolf on his back. However, he could definitely still fight.
Noticing that the sorcerer was using healing techniques, he dashed toward him with haste, hoping to disrupt the sorcerer's healing technique and get rid of the wolves. The man noticed Fraser's advance, pointing his finger toward him, as three thick vines emerged from the ground, rushing toward Fraser with tier two aura surrounding them.
Rushing Vines!
Fraser grit his teeth, stopping in his tracks before unsheathing the Tidal Edge and slicing apart the vines and continuing his attack. But precious time was wasted, the previously injured wolf had been fully healed, and now the two wolves acted as guardians, circling the man closely while counter attacking. All three of them moved in perfect synchronization, Fraser was facing difficulty attempting to dodge and block the repeating moves. He backed up quickly into a cave that led into the Sovereign mountain range.
Scratches and holes appeared on Fraser's body, pain assaulting him harder than the foes before him. But he could do nothing but brace and persevere. Swinging his blade at insane speeds, hoping he could make a breakthrough in their ferocious offense.
…
The lightfire wolf whimpered in pain, stumbling backward and falling onto its back as blood spouted like a fountain out of its neck, it struggled to breath, inhaling heavily but exhaling like a popped balloon.
Fraser had broken through, landing a crucial hack at one of the wolves by sheer luck, nearly killing it, and if it wasn't healed, it would surely die within moments.
The hostile sorcerer dashed toward the injured wolf and pointed out his finger, trying to heal it when he was within range.
Rooted Upbringing!
"Wishful thinking!" Fraser yelled as he closed the distance between him and the sorcerer rapidly, delivering a deep slash on their shoulder, cancelling the healing technique activation. A thick layer of ice crystals formed on the large gash, essentially crippling the sorcerer.
He hissed in pain, holding his shoulder while commanding the other wolf to counter.
But it was too late, their defense was now too shallow.
Fraser released thick fog, coating himself more thoroughly before quickly killing the second wolf with minor injuries.
The Void coursed through his veins as he renewed his enhancement technique, staring at the enemy with a deep gaze in his cloudy eyes.
He disappeared, reappearing before the sorcerer and stabbing at them multiple times, all of which landing successfully. The sorcerer thickened his defenses while healing himself and counter attacking. But the use of an arcane weapon with a conflicting arcane type on the wounds would greatly dull and slow healing methods of other attunements.
"Wait! Stop! I'll give you whatever you need! Please just spare me!" The sorcerer screamed at Fraser, begging for mercy, his death imminent.
Fraser simply chuckled in response.
He swung the killing blow.
But his dagger stopped right before hitting the sorcerer, as Fraser fell to his knees, his head faceplanting the ground beneath him.
"What?"
