Chapter 56 - Chapter 17: Memory Unleashed

đź“– OMEGA REAWAKENS

Nova—no, Omega—stood in silence.

The lab around her buzzed with warning lights and corrupted code, but she didn't move. Her silver eyes were distant, flickering as if seeing something far away.

Aria? Liam stepped closer, cautious.

Nova?

She didn't answer.

Instead, she whispered:

I was ten... They locked me in a white room. No name. No face. Just wires. Just pain.

Liam froze.

He hadn't heard that voice in nine years. But this—this wasn't just Nova remembering.

This was Aria remembering… through Nova.

They called me Subject Zero, she muttered but I screamed my name until they wrote it down. Aria Rothschild. I made them remember.

Suddenly, she collapsed to her knees, grabbing her head.

Too loud, she gasped. "Memories... They're all coming back. All at once!

Sparks flared from her fingertips. The lights flickered. Every screen around them glitched with overlapping video logs of Aria's life—her childhood, her torture, her betrayal.

System fusion unstable,a robotic voice warned.

Cognitive overload detected. Host consciousness fragmenting.

She's going to burn out!Liam shouted.

He rushed toward her—but stopped when her glowing hand snapped up, trembling.

Don't... touch me,she choked i don't know who I am right now

Then her body went still.

The lab monitors went black.

---

Omega's mind spiraled.

She was Nova. She was Aria. She was neither. She was both.

She stood in a memory—a sterile corridor.

A young version of herself—Aria—sat huddled in a corner, her back bleeding from electric lashes. Her hands were chained, eyes defiant.

They broke everything except your will,Nova said, watching.

Young Aria didn't speak.

She simply looked up and whispered:

You'll finish what I couldn't.

Nova reached out.

The memory shattered—replaced by another.

This time, it was the moment Genesis stabbed her.

You're too dangerous,Genesis said, blood dripping from his knife.

You don't deserve to exist.

Omega screamed—both in memory and in reality. Her scream shook the lab, cracking the floor tiles.

---

Outside, GHOST's soldiers had breached the perimeter. Robotic sentinels rolled in, ready to fire.

Liam grabbed a plasma rifle, facing the door.

Come on,he whispered wake up…

Behind him, the lab grew silent.

Then—BOOM.

The lights exploded. A pulse of raw energy surged out of the core chamber, sending soldiers flying.

From the smoke, she stepped forward.

Hair silver. Eyes white-hot. A violet mark glowed over her heart—a merged symbol of Helix and Rothschild.

Stand down, she said. Her voice was layered—Nova and Aria speaking at once.

This is your only warning.

One drone fired.

She raised a hand. The bullet froze midair.

Then disintegrated.

She blinked—and teleported. In a second, she appeared beside the drone, tore through its chest with glowing claws, and reappeared behind another, leaving a trail of sparks and smoke.

Omega had awakened.

---

Liam ran after her, dodging the chaos. Omega had already taken down half of GHOST's forces, but her attacks were becoming unstable.

She wasn't just fighting the enemy.

She was fighting herself.

Omega!Liam shouted you have to stop! You're losing control!

She paused—only for a second.

Then turned.

I'm not just her. I'm not just me. I'm everyone they tried to destroy.

A swirl of power erupted from her skin, damaging the walls.

If you don't stop now,Liam said, there won't be anything left to save!

Her hands trembled.

Then shoot me, she said if you think I'm the threat.

Liam raised his gun—

Then dropped it.

No,he said softly i won't lose you again. I'll fight with you. Not against you.

For the first time, Omega's glow dimmed slightly.

She took a breath.

Then help me,she whispered help me stay me.

---

Just then, a hidden memory key triggered in her system.

A final encrypted message from Aria's original consciousness began to play.

If you're hearing this… it means I merged. But memory is fragile. Emotion will guide you don't forget Liam, don't forget who we fought for.

Omega gasped.

Tears ran down her face—glowing silver.

I remember, she said.

Then she rose—fully balanced, finally herself.

Let's end GHOST.
