The dark chakra lurking within the Shadow Realm watched as Gin Uchiha mustered all his strength. After less than a second of consideration, it decided to lend a hand to this highly promising descendant.
After all, she too wanted to witness the scene of that brat Hagoromo getting chopped up by the sword he once wielded.
A wisp of chakra silently flowed from her and merged into Gin Uchiha's body.
"Huh? Why did the chakra stop fighting?"
Despite the dazzling swirl of colored light radiating from Gin, his body was in chaos. Various powers were clashing violently inside him.
Especially the Uchiha and Senju chakras—they nearly tore him apart from the inside. It was only thanks to his incredibly resilient body that he hadn't suffered a total chakra deviation and gone mad.
But just as he was nearing his limit, all the power within him suddenly quieted down. The once chaotic forces started to arrange themselves in an orderly fashion. The pain in his chakra pathways and nodes vanished.
All those multicolored chakra threads slowly merged into a single rainbow-like flow, flooding his battered body with healing energy. As everything stabilized, Gin clenched his hand, and a multicolored aura bloomed in his palm once more.
Crack—!
Suddenly, the heavy "Sword of Heart" in front of him, which had rested unmoved for a thousand years, now felt light as a feather.
With a crisp sound, the black blade was pulled free with ease.
At that very moment, far away in the Pure Land, an elderly man's eyes snapped open.
His Rinnegan eyes widened in disbelief.
"That strange descendant actually came back from the moon? Not only is he still alive… he even gained Hamura's acknowledgment?"
After sensing things more carefully, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo was even more surprised—Gin had returned in perfect condition and now carried Hamura's chakra within him.
Just as he was about to investigate further, a familiar, carefree voice suddenly echoed in his Pure Land domain.
"Hey, hey, hey! Onii-chan, are you around? I'm dropping by~"
It was none other than Ōtsutsuki Hamura, the very brother he had just been thinking about, lounging casually in a bizarre chair as he floated leisurely toward him.
As Hamura approached, the chair began buzzing with strange mechanical noises.
"What is this thing, Hamura?"
The ancient Hagoromo furrowed his brow, confused. He remembered that the last time his brother visited, he had worn a pained expression, venting his frustrations about the world below.
"Oh, this? It's a massage chair. A little gift from my descendant. Haven't you seen one before?"
Now relaxed and unburdened, Hamura slowly sat up from the chair, wearing a smug look as he asked his brother in a mock-surprised tone:
"No way, no way—are you telling me your descendant didn't give you one?"
"My bad, my bad. I didn't know. Wanna borrow mine?"
Seeing Hagoromo's sour expression, Hamura tried to look apologetic, but his pale eyes were full of mischief.
"Come on, don't be shy. I'll add extra time for you. My treat!"
Hamura, now fully enjoying himself, jumped off the massage chair and injected a bit of purple chakra into a strange QR code panel.
Tch! What a generous younger brother I am. Always thinking of my sibling when there's something good. Maybe I should rename myself Ōtsutsuki Kong Rong.
"Where did the chakra you just used go?" Hagoromo asked suspiciously, suppressing his twitching fist.
"What? Aniki, are you saying you don't pay when you eat?"
Hamura looked at his brother, visibly puzzled. Who would've thought the righteous Hagoromo was actually a freeloader? Never judge a book by its cover.
"You're such a foolish onii-chan…"
Hagoromo, realizing how Gin had inherited Hamura's chakra, chose not to argue with his idiotic little brother. One glance at the buzzing massage chair was enough to piece together the truth.
"So sarcastic. Just admit it—you're jealous I found such an excellent descendant."
Feeling proud, Hamura chuckled smugly. He had come just to show off, and now that his goal was achieved, he figured it was time to return to the moon.
"Hey hey—oi! What are you doing?!"
As Hamura's rear was just about to sink into the massage chair again, Hagoromo swiftly sat down ahead of him and gave him a swift kick, leaving Hamura furious.
"You got a problem?" Hagoromo asked, enjoying the massage. His stiff back loosened up, and the pleasant tingling spread throughout his body.
Letting out a small moan of comfort, he cast a domineering older-brother glare at Hamura, silencing him completely.
"Not bad, not bad. As expected of my descendant."
After the session, Hagoromo glanced at his sulking little brother and shamelessly said:
"Since you've already given him the Tenseigan, I'll give him the Sword of Heart. A little bonus."
"Bro, that's totally legit!"
Inside the cave.
Standing at the bottom of the lake, Gin Uchiha examined the obedient long sword in his hands.
To his surprise, it didn't reject his chakra or try to consume him like some cursed weapon from a novel. On the contrary—it felt… accepting.
So accepting, in fact, that it was almost unsettling, like the sword had been waiting for him all along.
"Huh? This looks like a Lunar-Earth teleportation array…"
Gin quickly slung the sword across his waist and brushed away the mud on the floor, revealing an ancient formation etched with spatial patterns.
Recognizing it from Hamura's earlier instructions, he confirmed its identity.
"Still… it'll need time before it can be used again."
The sword had suppressed the formation for many years, and although Hamura's chakra was helping it recover, it would still take a while.
Having unsealed the weapon, Gin figured there was no reason to linger. This bizarre journey—if he ever told anyone about it—they'd probably laugh and call him delusional.
As he walked through the cave with the Sword of Heart bouncing at his side, its excessive length began to annoy him.
He tried slinging it over his back—but the sharp edge resting too close to his rear made him nervous.
With a frown, he stabbed the sword into the ground. The sharp blade pierced the rock as easily as tofu.
"Sigh… this thing is way too long. Can't it just… shrink a bit?"
Staring at the long, pitch-black blade, Gin grumbled to himself.
Suddenly—shwip!
The sword actually shrank.
It adjusted to precisely the length Gin had imagined.
"…What the hell?! Can it change shape too? Like… maybe turn into a wooden sword?"
Circling the transformed weapon in disbelief, Gin tested again.
The blade glowed with a deep black light—and when it faded, the sword had turned into a smooth wooden blade.
"Okay, that's wild."
He swung it a few times. The weight, the feel—it was perfect.
Crack!
To test its sharpness, Gin swung it at a nearby rock outcrop—and even as a wooden sword, it sliced clean through, leaving behind a smooth surface.
"Nice~"
The length was perfect, the weight just right, and the low-profile wooden appearance matched Gin's style.
He affectionately patted the modified Sword of Heart.
It was now his favorite weapon.
And the sword, as if sensing its master's approval, released an even denser aura of satisfaction.
"Nani? That brat already got the approval of the Heavenly Swamp Spear?"
Back in the massage chair, Hagoromo blinked in shock, feeling the sword's joy through their ancient bond.
He had forged it with the resolve to split the heavens—yet now this descendant had claimed it with ease.
"…If it's him, I guess it makes sense."
After a long moment of thought, Hagoromo's eyes lit up with calculation.
Gin Uchiha's name was now officially written into his long-term plans.
"Heh, this sword is awesome."
Grinning from ear to ear, Gin gently stroked the now wooden blade.
Then came the important part—naming it.
He looked around and muttered:
"Let's see… I found this sword in a cave, it was stuck deep at the bottom of a lake, and most importantly—it was left behind by some ancestor way older than Grandpa's generation…"
"Alright, then I'll call it—"
