Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: Sorry, I Just Went Blind

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.

In the stillness of the dark night, a sudden eruption of vast, storm-like chakra rippled out, shaking the artificial moon that had hovered above for a thousand years. The once-bright moonlight became distorted and hazy, falling across the cold, frosty face of Ōtsutsuki Tsukihime, giving an uncanny illusion of space and time displacement.

"Clan head, please calm down!"

The sudden burst of pressure from Tsukihime caused Ōtsutsuki Biluo's guts to tremble with fear. Under the gaze of those pure white Byakugan eyes, a bloodline-deep pressure made her legs go weak. With a thud, she dropped to her knees, forehead pressed tightly against the floor, sweat pouring like rain as she trembled and spoke.

This pressure…

It felt stronger than even her eldest cousin.

Unlike Biluo, who lost her composure at the threshold, Uchiha Gin—still crouched low to keep his presence minimal—wasn't too affected by the pressure. Instead, he compared this overwhelming aura to Uchiha Madara's… and cast his vote in favor of the figurine girl.

As the saying goes: "Side with reason, not blood."

But damn, she's just so big.

"Ōtsutsuki Biluo, do you know your crime?"

Tsukihime lowered her gaze toward the groveling Biluo and spoke coldly, her tone piercingly icy, sending chills down anyone's spine.

"Clan head-sama, I know I was wrong… I shouldn't have had such selfish thoughts!"

Biluo shakily raised herself up, her white eyes filled with fear. Tears streamed down as she began a full-blown self-criticism. Looks like Tsukihime was furious that she hadn't handed over Gin—so unfair.

She shot a glance at Gin, who looked like he was slacking off, and sighed internally. Looks like he's gonna suffer tonight.

"Sigh… Considering you are a long-standing elder of the clan, and since the Ōtsutsuki are still recovering, I'll let you off just this once. Reflect well, and don't ever act so absurdly again."

Seeing Biluo's regretful face, Tsukihime retracted her chakra pressure. Everyone makes mistakes. For a diligent elder like her, a mild scolding would suffice.

"Clan head is merciful!"

The immense pressure suddenly lifted from Biluo's shoulders. She exhaled in relief and bowed repeatedly, forehead knocking against the floor with loud thuds.

"Haah… You may leave now. Just remember—don't let it happen again."

After handling Biluo, Tsukihime yawned and turned away lazily, waving her hand to dismiss her.

"Understood. I take my leave…"

Though she had escaped punishment, Biluo didn't look pleased. Seeing Tsukihime's sleepy face, her sharp emotional intuition told her exactly what that meant:

The clan head was getting ready for bed.

Gin… was doomed.

With a melancholy look, she turned toward Gin and gave him a long, reluctant glance before sighing softly and turning to leave.

"I should've been under the carriage, not inside it…"

Gin was about to follow when Biluo blocked him with a wave of her hand. She kept her head low, avoiding his gaze, though he noticed tears sliding silently down her cheek.

Huh? I haven't even gotten in the carriage yet?

As the heavy doors shut, Gin was left standing there, utterly baffled. Even his dumb brain couldn't figure out why he was being left behind.

He had no choice. With his chakra suppressed and his presence reduced as much as possible, Gin remained where he was, silently waiting for the icy figurine-like Tsukihime to pass her judgment.

"Hello, I am—"

But before he could even finish the first line of the dramatic self-introduction he had rehearsed countless times in his head, a cheerful voice interrupted.

"Ah—finally free! Go get me some fries!"

That same icy beauty, Tsukihime, had now tossed off her heavy robe, revealing a tight little tank top and shorts so short they were criminal. She sat cross-legged on the floor like a total slob, pulling out a rose-covered romance novel and grinning like a schoolgirl. The expression on her face was pure otaku joy.

She looked like someone who finally got the house to themselves and could go full gremlin.

"Ahem…"

Gin realized that if he didn't say something now, he might end up seeing way too much. And at that point, there would only be one outcome: getting murdered to silence him.

"Little Black, why are you coughing?"

Tsukihime looked over suspiciously at her black puppet attendant. Her tone was irritable, her lips pouty.

"Master, that wasn't me," said the puppet earnestly, its yellow eyes fixed on Gin.

"It's him, master."

Yeah, puppet lives matter—this was not a mess it was going to die for.

Still lost in her pink daydreams, Tsukihime felt an itch down below. With absolutely no shame, she reached down and scratched, then casually brought her fingers to her nose to sniff.

Just as she was enjoying the smell like a weirdo, she looked up—and saw him.

"Uh… excuse me. Where… where am I?"

Knowing he had just witnessed something that should never be seen, Gin dove into full drama mode. He pulled out a wooden cane, let his eyes go dull, and tapped the floor blindly like a lost man. His expression was full of confusion and sadness.

"You can't see?" Tsukihime asked, a blush still on her cheeks. Her Byakugan narrowed in suspicion.

"Sigh…"

Gin inwardly grinned but kept his expression tragic. He said nothing—just stared blankly… directly at her long legs.

"Eh…"

Tsukihime's blush deepened. Despite being a clan head for decades, her social intelligence was at the level of a teenage girl. She panicked a little.

"Little Black, go test him."

Even though Gin looked convincingly blind, Tsukihime still had a strange feeling about his gaze—it made her feel hot and itchy. She needed confirmation.

"Whoosh!"

In a flash, the puppet zipped to Gin's side and thrust razor-sharp blades toward his eyes.

Zzzzt!

The blades stopped a centimeter from Gin's eyeballs. He didn't even flinch, not so much as a blink. Just stood there letting death gleam in front of him.

"Huh… so he really is blind."

Tsukihime finally relaxed.

"You're the man from the surface mentioned in Elder Biluo's proposal?"

"If I'm the only man from the surface, then yes, that'd be me."

Gin nodded slightly. His eyes remained dull, but his real ones were soaking in her figure like high-res scanners.

"Really from the surface? Is it fun down there?"

She suddenly brightened, skipping over to him with excited curiosity.

He really was good-looking, just like Biluo described. Tsukihime thought about all the male clan members she knew—none of them could compare. Big red Xs on all of them.

"Oh, it's very fun. So many people, so much food, and sights to see…"

Gin began to enthusiastically describe the surface world, while Tsukihime's white eyes lit up in amazement.

"Sights? But… you can see?"

Wait, that didn't add up.

"Ahem… I only just went blind. But before that, I saw many beautiful… very big… very white things."

Yes. Just now.

I, Uchiha Gin, am always honest.
