it was a normal day, birds were singing, flowers were blooming and.... Akira was smiling happily the next day, he went to YuSho already and was waiting and humming. Sora was just lovingly looking at Akira and, obviously, everyone noticed it. Yuzu smirks and says "oh? Someone is in love~?"
Sora chuckles and simply says "very much so" that caught the others off guard, Akira not paying attention was just looking at his cards. Mainly the XYZ card ".... How is it possible these cards exist?" He muttered to himself, he didn't ask for these custom cards, they just.... Existed, for sale or just really rare.
Sora walks over and asks "everything ok there my lollipop?" Akira blushes in surprise but nods and says "yeah, but tell me, have you've ever seen these cards?" As he shows them, mainly the XYZ Ancient Gear card (which I won't reveal yet). Sora shakes his head saying "nope, doubt.... You know who would've done you know what if that was the case" Akira nods in response.
After everything was down and everyone here, class started but.... If the basic summoning, AKA normal and tribute summon, everyone hated it, so Unknown stood up and said "let me teach Shūzō, alright?" Shūzō nods since Unknown knows multiple summoning methods "ahem, alright so, while Shūzō has went over the basic methods of normal, tribute and special summonings, I should add that with monsters there are one type of basic summoning monsters he didn't add, the level tens" Ayu raised their hand asking "what's so special about being monsters level ten Akira? Aren't they like every other monster?" Others nod in agreement.
Akira chuckles at that "oh no Ayu, it's special since if a monster is level ten, no matter it's stats usually, it has a really good effect or has really good stats, usually both though" Ayu nods, while Tatsuya asks "do you know some monsters" Akira smirks and nods before quickly sketching three specific cards
"These cards are called the three Egyptian God Cards, each wielded by very powerful duelists, two you know of very well, Seto Kaiba wielded Obelisk the Tormentor, and Yugi Muto wielded Slifer the Sky Dragon" everyone had stars in their eyes, while Yuzu asks "what about The Winged Dragon of Ra?" Akira nods "it was wielded by Mark Ishtar, all I mentioned were the top three of the Battle City tournament, and I have to say, of all of them the most intimidating one is Ra" everyone is confused "how so?" Yuya asked "because it has three forms, the one you see here and" he starts sketching again.
"They are respectively called Sphere Mode and Phoenix Mode" that caught their attention "sphere mode and Phoenix Mode?" Akira nods once more "see, Sphere Mode is the resting mode of Ra, the Phoenix Mode is what happens if you bring it back from the graveyard with a card effect or spell card like Monster Reborn, only for a turn though" that confused them a lot "only a turn?" Akira chuckles "God Cards are effected by spells and traps for only a turn, anyway the Sphere Mode can be summoned to the opponents field for three of their monsters, but only if you know the chant can you actually summon Ra in its normal mode" that surprised them for sure "really? Wow" Akira nods "they are the most prominent example, strong effects and, Ra's attack is equal to the amount of Life points you sacrifice to it, and if you sacrifice Ra you get the same amount of Life points back, now if you're wondering why you haven't heard of them, I don't know, but only the ones worthy of the cards can use them, else the god cards themselves will punish you" they shiver at that
"Anyway let's move on from the level ten monsters, who actually need three tributes to summon, and go to Ritual Summoning" he says, sketching two new cards after reading the board
"These two cards are the best example, anyone want to tell me what is so important about these two cards?" They think, before Yuzu raises her hand "is it that they were used by a strong duelist?" Akira nods "indeed, specifically Yugi Muto, anyway, a Ritual monster can't be normal summoned, but requires a ritual spell card as shown by these two, Black Luster Soldier and Black Luster Ritual, and if you want to you need to send cards from your hand field to the graveyard, exact level or not, but there are archetypes that are all about ritual monsters and spells, and spells like Advanced Ritual which allows you to use monsters from the deck instead, but only normal monsters and the level must be exact instead of more being allowed" they all nod, while Akira wipes the board and says "let's start with the extra deck summoning, starting with Synchro Summoning, honestly one of the harder ones" he draws again
Now, in order to use a synchro monster, you must have a tuner monster like the Ancient Gear, and the same amount of other monsters that the synchro monster requires, most require only one, others two, and finally some just get a bonus by using more then one monster like Gigantcastle, a level nine synchro monster that gains two hundred attack per non-Tuner monster used to summon it, now for advanced methods" that confuses the other as Tatsuya asks "is it like the level tens for the main deck" Unknown nods "exactly, specifically they're called double tuning and accel synchro" as he sketches again
"Now, cards like Immortal Dragon are required for an accel synchro summon, as it's weak compared to other synchro monsters it's level but it's a tuner in return, usually an accel synchro summon is used to to get a monster that specifies a synchro tuner monster" Yuya asks "there are monsters that say that?" Akira nods in response "yes, and they usually have strong effects and at least decent stats, now double tuning is able to be easier or harder to do compared to the previous method, depending on how the deck is built and have effects that game advantage of it like Mannadium Prime-Heart as per tuner used to summon it, it can attack the same amount of times" they nod "now, to end this chapter, a higher level does not mean it's stronger, usually that's the case but it could easily have a weaker effect then a lower level monster" he wipes the board "now onto XYZ summoning" Sora sours a bit, while Akira sketches
"Now, XYZ monsters don't have levels but ranks, and no that doesn't mean they're level zero, that's impossible." They nods hearing that "now most XYZ monsters don't require anything specific, and I have to argue it's the easiest method to learn by yourself, put two monsters on the field, and summon an XYZ monster, and of course there are two advanced ones, mainly requiring a spell card called rank up and rank down, as you can expect, you get a higher rank or lower rank" Yuya asks "why would someone want a lower rank?" Akira chuckles "because the lower rank might have a better ability at the moment" Yuya nods while Akira finishes up by saying "also, a rank four monster that requires three monsters may be stronger then a rank eight monster that only needs two" and he wipes the board before sketching two monsters
"Now, can anyone tell me why I chose these two monsters?" They think, Yuya raised his hand* is it because of attack points?" Akira shakes his head "wrong" Yuzu says "because of the effects?" Akira shakes his head again "no, but closer" Sora says "the materials and how easy it can be to fusion summon them" Akira smirks and says "correct Sora-kun~" Sora blushes "now, the materials are important because of one thing, my Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem requires a specific card and two cards from the same archetype, while Five-Headed Dragon just needs five dragons" Yuzu thinks for a moment before exclaiming "IT'S BECAUSE OF HOW MANY DECKS THEY CAN BE IN ISN'T IT!? THAT'S WHY THE MATERIALS ARE IMPORTANT" Akira flinched badly at the yelling, Sora says "Yuzu, yell again and I will mercilessly beat you down" in a very cold tone which scares Yuzu and she sits down.
"Ahem, a-anyway Five-Headed Dragon can be used in any decks that use fusion cards and use at least polymerization, and if course are dragon focused, while Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem can only be used in an Ancient Gear deck like mine, now there is technically a spellcaster version of Five-Headed Dragon" he sketches the card
"I'd argue it's stronger thanks to its effect, while yes it requires five differently named monsters, it nukes the entirety of your opponents field, spells, traps and monsters" that makes all of their eyes sparkle "now, one last thing is that while decks can focus on one summoning method, as you saw my deck can use more then just fusion summoning" they all clap and he bows dramatically "thank you, thank you" Ayu asks "do you have all the cards you mentioned? Not the god cards obviously but still" Akira chuckles and nods "yes I do" they all smile, once they were done Sora basically drags Akira away, who yelps and the others just blankly stare.
Once in an empty classroom Sora asks "so, do you have siblings?" Akira nods "adopted but yes, why?" Sora sighs "they're gonna test me, aren't they?" Akira giggles "yes, yes they are, good luck, you'll need it, now want to head to my home? Nothing inappropriate obviously but still" Sora nods smiling softly, at the house they dueled for fun, watched some fun shows or movies, ate unhealthily and so forth before snuggling each other and sleeping through the night.
