When the Wei clan members heard what Yu Feng Zhēnjūn said, they collectively gasped. Some even cast furtive glances at the Ancestor. Moments earlier, the Ancestor had seemed ready to compromise, planning to sacrifice part of the clan to save the rest. Those people lowered their eyes, keeping their thoughts buried deep in their hearts.
Wei Lingtao was deeply shaken. They had nearly walked into disaster. Thankfully, Yun Xi had been capable enough to turn the tide. If not for her, today's calamity would have been unavoidable.
The most embarrassed person was Wei Nanfeng. His smile froze stiff on his face. It was Wei Lingyue who stepped forward to break the awkward silence.
"That girl Yun Xi really, she went and did something so huge, yet didn't even send word back. We could have at least made preparations."
Yu Feng cut in bluntly.
"You're Yun Xi's father. Shouldn't your first concern be whether your daughter was injured while facing off against two Nascent Soul cultivators? Instead, you blame her for being inconsiderate. If she hadn't known when to hold back, neither of us would be standing here right now."
His words left Wei Lingyue completely speechless. Asking was wrong, not asking was also wrong. And with a Yuányīng Zhēnjūn before him, he didn't dare show any attitude. All he could do was step aside quietly.
Yu Huo turned to look at Wei Lingtao and, without further explanation, issued a command.
"Pack up quickly. Leave when the time comes."
"Yes."
Wei Lingtao was quick on the uptake and responded respectfully. He invited the two Zhēnjūn to sit in the main hall, but both declined.
Yu Feng threw out a flying ship that hovered above the Wei clan's estate. He and Yu Huo boarded it directly, clearly unwilling to make small talk with that fool from the Wei clan.
Their actions were a complete slap in the face to Wei Nanfeng. But he didn't dare voice a single complaint. He directed all his frustration toward Yun Xi. When he saw her again, he was definitely going to interrogate her thoroughly.
Back at the Feng clan, Feng Jiaqing immediately went to report to Feng Feng after returning home. He briefly described what had happened with the Wei clan.
Feng Feng thought for a moment, then said, "The Wei clan is likely planning to relocate. Once they've left, contact Yun Xi again. Something must have happened to prompt her to move the entire clan."
Feng Jiaqing also felt that the sudden appearance of two Haoran Sect Zhēnjūn meant something serious had occurred. He nodded and asked, "Should we go send them off?"
Feng Feng waved a hand. "No need. We already extended a helping hand when they were in danger. That's enough goodwill. But since this involves evil cultivators, there's no need to invite trouble. Still, it wouldn't hurt to stay vigilant."
"Understood."
After seeing the two Zhēnjūn board the ship, Wei Lingtao immediately began issuing orders. This was a full clan relocation. Private property had to be managed, fixed assets needed to be liquidated, and countless other tasks awaited him. He didn't even have time to comfort Ancestor Nanfeng.
In the end, it was Wei Lingyue who escorted the Ancestor back. Only after that did he return to his own courtyard and inform Du Ruolan to pack quickly. They were leaving Kunyu City for Haoran City.
Du Ruolan only knew that the clan had previously been attacked by a powerful enemy and had activated the protective formation. Now, however, the situation had shifted dramatically. Haoran Sect had sent people to escort them to Haoran City. Naturally, she was overjoyed. This way, she could see her daughter more often. She packed swiftly, gathering all her best items into a large storage pouch.
Two hours later, Yu Feng Zhēnjūn landed the flying ship inside the Wei clan's main courtyard and called for those leaving to board.
The Wei clan was the leading family of Kunyu City, with over a thousand members. Some branch families hadn't relocated to Kunyu City, but this time, only six hundred and seventy chose to leave.
Some couldn't bear to part with their homeland. Others had lost hope in making further breakthroughs and didn't want to start over somewhere new. They chose to remain behind, guarding the ancestral estate. If things didn't go well in Haoran City, they could serve as a fallback.
Others stayed behind to handle the family's fixed assets in Kunyu City. Two hours wasn't enough time to convert everything into spirit stones. After settling those matters, they would head to Haoran City on their own.
Wei Lingtao was a whirlwind of activity, but by the deadline set by Yu Feng Zhēnjūn, he managed to get everyone aboard the ship.
The flying ship slowly rose into the sky, carrying the excited members of the Wei clan toward Haoran City.
Haoran Sect, Haoran Peak
Yun Xi felt relieved once she heard that Yu Feng and Yu Huo Zhēnjūn had departed for Kunyu City. She immediately sent message talismans to Wei Chenyin and the other Wei clan disciples, informing them of the clan's upcoming relocation to Haoran City.
After the messages were sent, Yun Xi considered her next move and decided to visit Dan Peak. She wanted to check on Wei Yunqing's cultivation progress and take the opportunity to speak with the little Flying Mist Butterfly that had stayed behind. If possible, she planned to provoke Wei Yunqing a bit further.
Having made up her mind, Yun Xi adjusted her path toward Dan Peak.
The disciple guarding Dan Peak inspected her identity jade token and respectfully welcomed her in.
Meanwhile, Wei Zonghao was surprised when he received Yun Xi's message talisman. He had just reached the peak of the Foundation Establishment mid stage and was planning to take on an external mission to visit his family. Then he heard that the clan was relocating to Haoran City. He quickly packed up and prepared to visit Yun Xi. The message had been too brief.
Before he reached the base of Dan Peak, he unexpectedly ran into Yun Xi coming to find him. He cupped his hands and greeted her.
"Martial Uncle Wei."
Yun Xi nodded and returned the greeting. "I was just looking for you. We need to talk."
Wei Zonghao grinned. "I was about to head to Lingxue Peak. Didn't expect you to come first."
"Let's talk at your place."
"Alright."
Yun Xi followed Wei Zonghao to his new courtyard. He had moved there after formally becoming a disciple. The place was maintained by outer sect disciples, and the spiritual fields inside were planted with commonly used second and third rank herbs.
Wei Zonghao brewed a pot of spirit tea, a gift from his master, and then asked about the message.
Yun Xi didn't hide anything. She told him in broad strokes what had happened after finding her uncle. She explained that relocating the Wei clan wasn't just to avoid being targeted by evil cultivators. It was also to keep Wei Nanfeng from doing something reckless and to prevent Wei Lingyue from using her name as a cover for underhanded schemes.
Once he understood the whole story, Wei Zonghao sighed.
"When the elders are unreliable, life for us juniors is tough."
"You're telling me. Once that old man gets to Haoran City, he'll probably make trouble for me again. When that happens, you better play dumb. Best if you know nothing at all. Got it?"
Wei Zonghao nodded helplessly. "Got it. I'm officially under a master now. The Ancestor won't give me attitude. I know how to deal with him."
Yun Xi's apricot eyes gleamed with calculation.
"If he asks you to refine a Longevity Pill, push it onto me. Say I found a Shouyuan Fruit, but you don't have the main ingredient for refining the pill."
"Alright, I'll remember that."
Wei Zonghao didn't know what Yun Xi was planning, but he was on her side no matter what.
After their discussion, Yun Xi asked, "How's Wei Yunqing been lately? Stirring up any trouble?"
Wei Zonghao frowned. "Yun Qing has been spending a lot of time with Ye Shaohua. Most of their days go into cultivating spirit plants. Nothing major has happened, but..."
