Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Victory

I could now see several chunks of frozen metal collapsed into the ground, creating a scene of havoc in the midst of the marching droids. Those that were nearby succumbed to this, and it wasn't just them. The gigantic AAT I targeted completely froze over, and with me finishing my combo, the charged diffusion ice missile did its wonders. The tank shattered, causing an instant death to the droids operating it inside.

I also recall in the games, there was certain tech you could do, at least in the prime games on certain versions. You could flick the c stick upward, and fire missiles outward at a rapid pace. Much quicker. Like twice or three times as quick as the normal rate. Speedrunners would use this. I don't know if that'll be the case here, since I have Adam. The Seeker Missiles are satisfactory for now, but down the line, I can ask Adam to improve my Power Suit to have a faster firing rate if I need to. Just seeing the result before me was enough.

The attack I launched did stun the droids for a few moments, but they shook it off. I took a mental note of how many were destroyed. Twenty regular droids, the AAT tank, the couple of droids that operated inside of it, and a few armored droids that were within the blast radius of the diffusion. No Rollers were affected, unfortunately. But seeing this alone, it was enough. Just like that, around ten percent of this droid army was wiped out in a flash.

In response, the droids reacted after they recovered, and managed to spot me resting within the coral trees on the left side of the trench.

"It's the sniper again. Blast them!", One of the unaffected droids said, giving the command to some of the droids nearby. There were still around two-hundred and seventy left. Several took aim, and began firing their red lasers in my direction. Pew. Pew!

I was surrounded by a lot of these coral trees, and each blast of these lasers collided against branch after branch after branch. The trees started getting torn up. They might not be the most accurate of shots, but these droids know how to cause damage. Adding to the blaster fire, not one, but two of the remaining AAT tanks shifted their cannons leftward. Igniting, two large lasers shot out. BANG!

I could see these two large lasers swiftly fly toward me. They weren't in my direct line of sight. One launched to the left and one launched to the right, knocking the couple of coral trees into the ground. I swiftly jumped down from the tree that I was on, and began running the other way. I reached toward my comms.

"The droids are distracted now. I'll head to the left and attempt to destroy another one of those tanks. This should give enough time for Master Yoda.", I said, talking to Thire.

"Understood. Those Clankers haven't spotted us yet. Keep distracting them and we'll try to find an opening.", Thire responded.

"Got it.", I said, and then turned the comms off. My primary goal was to cause a distraction long enough to allow Master Yoda to initiate his attacks like he did in the original story. I didn't think I'd take thirty or so down in the process. I wanted to keep the momentum going, I continued to run through the coral trees, and remained out of sight.

Further inside the trench, one of the droids quickly approached another droid that was commanding them.

"Commander, we've lost sight of the sniper.", The droid said.

"I can see that. Notify me if you spot them again. The Supreme Leader wants us to focus on hunting the Jedi. He's lurking around here somewhere. Take some patrols with you and continue onward. We'll tear this entire forest down if we need to.", The commander droid said.

"Roger-Roger.", The nearby droids responded in unison. Listening to the commander droid, the files began to branch off. Some began marching further inside the trench with the hope to find Master Yoda. Those patrols even brought three tanks with them, not wanting to risk a chance of something unexpected happening.

But this is what we wanted. I saw the droids start to part ways, separating themselves from the current file they formed. Some then marched leftward, likely following after me, while others marched onward, deeper inside. Seeing this, I smiled.

I didn't immediately take a second shot, and also waited for the right chance to strike.

Meanwhile, further inside the trench again, the commanding droid brought out a hologram responder, and turned it on.

In it, a hologram of a bald and fierce-looking woman appeared. One mustn't underestimate this woman. She hailed from the Planet Dathomir, home to Dathomirian Witches, whose powers rivaled that of the Jedi. Insert force-sensitive children into the mix, and what does that result? A powerful person, that's what. But these witches are very prone to the dark side, to which this woman fell into. She would fight alongside Count Dooku as his apprentice, and lead most of the droids on the Separatists' side. This is the first time I'll get to meet her, and it definitely won't be the last.

And to a lot of people's surprise, Ventress does end up dying. But because she has the powers of the Dathomir, she revives herself, albeit at the sacrifice of the one she fell in love with. This, in turn, would spur Ventress on to wander out into the galaxy on her own, trying to live out the remainder of her life. This would happen around the time when the Clone Wars end.

Keeping myself hidden, I was able to spot the commander droid who turned this hologram on. This allowed me to look at Ventress, despite it just being a hologram. It's a shame I was too far away, I couldn't exactly hear what the commander droid was relaying.

"224, what's going on out there?", Ventress asked.

"We've engaged with the enemy, Supreme Leader. Our initial report identified a sniper amongst the Jedi's ranks, and we've verified it. They're hiding themselves within the trees. They're displaying a power we've never seen before.", The commander droid reported.

"An unknown power?", Ventress questioned, eyes showing full of doubt. "What kind of power?"

"It's some kind of weapon. They froze around ten percent of our troops and took out one of our tanks.", The commander droid responded, causing Ventress to turn silent, acting if she was deciding on something.

"Keep pushing on. I want that Jedi captured at all costs. Leave no one else alive!", Ventress declared.

"Roger-roger.", The commander droid responded, seeing Ventress cut off the hologram responder.

Back on the gigantic coral tree that overlooked the entire moon, King Katuunko could be seen flapping his wings, and had a wide grin on his face. He looked at Ventress, who appeared to be somewhat angry.

"It would seem the Master Jedi is giving you a run for your credits. They say a Jedi's strength is one in one-hundred. Perhaps it is more around one in one-thousand, haha!", King Katuunko said, laughing at Ventress. "And here you are, so sure that this droid army of yours would secure victory. I am beginning to think otherwise."

"The Jedi can only run for so long. We will come out of this victorious. Have your allegiance ready by nightfall, Highness.", Ventress declared, looking back at him with an unwavering look.

"We will see. This match is not over yet.", King Katuunko said, only to fly off to the side, and observe the ongoing battle in the near distance. It was much closer this time compared to the fourth wave.

As for Ventress, she clenched one of her hands, and held the grip of her own lightsaber. A flash of anger, but also one of clarity streaked across her eyes.

'If those Jedi managed to recruit some outside help, should I personally enter the fray?', Ventress wondered whether or not to enter the battle herself. On one side, she would have a direct line of fire with the Jedi opposing her. But on the other hand, it would expose her to being captured. The clones that were opposing her made it through a few waves of her droids. She knew she couldn't underestimate them, even if they were so very few in number. They had the backing of a Master Jedi, and an unknown assailant assisting them.

Ventress clenched her teeth this time, finding herself in a conundrum.

Back inside the trench, Master Yoda could be seen, and his eyes suddenly whipped open, showing a decisive look.

"Now, the time it is. A good enough distraction, that was.", Yoda said, smiling. All of a sudden, with the help of the Force, he lifted himself into the air, doing an acrobatic jump. He flew outward, and no longer hid behind the rocks. The nearest droids spotted Master Yoda igniting his green lightsaber. Hummm!

"It's the Jedi! Do not let him escape!", The droid commander issued. Several normal droids began walking toward Master Yoda, holding up their blaster rifles. Seeing this, Master Yoda actually spoke out to the droids.

"More worried about your rear, you should be. Hmm?", Yoda questioned

"What are you going on about, Jedi?", The droid commander questioned. "The Jedi is within sight. Blast him!", The droid exclaimed.

"More aware of your surroundings, you should be.", Yoda responded. He let out a rare sigh, listening to the ignorant droids like this. The droids started firing at Master Yoda. Unsurprisingly, Master Yoda started deflecting one laser blast after another, which began to scorch the rocky ground around him. He didn't just block, he jumped around, swiftly dodging all attacks the droids were firing at him.

It was this time the droids heard another powerful explosion resounding from deeper within the droid army toward the rear. BOOOOM! Large chunks of ice began to fly rapidly striking against droid patrols and armored droids in all directions. One after another, the droids either became droidcicles from the sub-zero plasma striking against its inner machinery, or explode into tiny little chunks of ice altogether. On top of that, another AAT tank had fallen!

"Victory within our grasp, it is.", Yoda declared as he continued deflecting the blaster fire the droids in front were attacking him with.
