In her opinion, while the boy lacked inherent strength, that didn't mean he couldn't utilize external forces.
External forces are forces nonetheless. Kyōraku Shunsui held his nephew in high regard.
"Huff... huff..." The black cat panted heavily, sprawled on all fours.
Maintaining its feline form while trying to catch the boy proved too difficult.
Every time its claws neared Kyōraku Callum's face, a temporal distortion occurred.
It seemed she had no choice but to revert to her human form.
Resolution hardened in the cat's eyes. With a meow, it launched itself at Kyōraku Callum again, a black flash across the air.
Just as Kyōraku Callum was about to use Shunpo to dodge, a fog suddenly appeared before him. A bad feeling washed over him.
As he was about to call out his Zanpakutō's name, a slightly seductive voice reached his ears.
"Little Callum, where do you think you're going this time!"
A tall figure shimmered in and out of the fog.
Kyōraku Callum's pupils constricted; he hesitated, slowing his movements.
In that instant, Yoruichi Shihōin was upon him.
"Finally, I've got you!"
The voice, so close, made Kyōraku Callum realize releasing his Zanpakutō might be too late.
He strained to keep his eyes open, trying to take in the sight before him.
However, the woman with wheat-colored skin was still trying to reach his face.
Oh well, I can just use Kidō to heal it later, was his last thought before the attack. He closed his eyes, awaiting the blow.
After a moment, he felt no pain. When he opened his eyes, a cool, refreshing sensation touched his cheek.
"Little Callum, this is just interest!" Yoruichi Shihōin's finger pressed lightly against his face.
An almost invisible scratch appeared beneath her fingertip, vanishing the moment she released him.
Kyōraku Callum chuckled wryly. "Was that necessary, Yoruichi-san?" He touched the spot; there was no mark.
"Thief! Long time no see. You finally gave up that decadent noble life," Yoruichi Shihōin said, arms crossed, unconcerned about her exposed skin.
Kyōraku Callum removed his haori and draped it over her.
"What decadent noble life? If anyone's decadent, it's the Shihōin family, far more than the Kyōraku family. High-class nobles are still leagues below the Four Great Noble Families."
Yoruichi Shihōin wrapped the haori tightly around herself, narrowing her eyes at Kyōraku Callum. "Is that why you've been avoiding me?"
Cough! Kyōraku Callum almost choked. Yoruichi Shihōin's erratic thinking was impossible to follow.
"That's not it," Kyōraku Callum insisted. "I was simply training."
Yoruichi Shihōin leaned closer, her golden cat-like eyes scanning his face. "Hmph! You're getting away with it for now." The haori was quite large on her. "What are you doing in the World of the Living?" Her tone became serious.
"I brought an Arrancar back from Hueco Mundo and need Mr. Urahara's help," Kyōraku Callum explained. "I won't be staying long."
He sighed. Interacting with Yoruichi Shihōin was always unpredictable.
"Haha, it's fine," Yoruichi Shihōin clapped him on the shoulder, laughing heartily. "We'll meet again in Soul Society. Watch your step!"
A glimpse of her exposed skin made Kyōraku Callum's blood rush. His composure nearly broke.
"It's not like I haven't seen it before," Yoruichi Shihōin said, leaning against his chest. "Are you shy, little one?"
A blush crossed Kyōraku Callum's face. "Damn it! Yoruichi-san, can't you be a little more ladylike?!"
Yoruichi Shihōin laughed. "It's just us; why bother? You weren't this reserved when you were petting me!"
Kyōraku Callum didn't argue. Petting a cat and this were entirely different. Besides, he didn't know it was Yoruichi Shihōin at the time.
While luck was a staple for time travelers, finding Yoruichi Shihōin in a random stray cat was incredibly surreal. Their feud was far from resolved.
After a brief exchange, Kyōraku Callum prepared to return to Soul Society. A prolonged absence would arouse suspicion. While strong, he wasn't strong enough yet. Even Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni, the Captain-Commander, had fallen.
After greeting Urahara Kisuke and reassuring Nelliel, Kyōraku Callum opened a Senkaimon near the Urahara Shop and returned to Soul Society. He didn't use a standard Senkaimon coordinate; he set it to his home. The Kyōraku family, being high-class nobles, had resources.
Opening the door, Kyōraku Callum found himself in an elegant room. To his surprise, Kyōraku Shunsui was sitting nearby, sipping sake.
"Back already?" Kyōraku Shunsui raised an eyebrow, looking at Kyōraku Callum.
