Chapter 13 - Devil's Flame

The string pulled both of them to a room full of demon officials, likely the Parliament.

Venor and Jaquer fell from the high ceiling of the room.

The demon straightened his body with ease and placed one arm beneath Jaquer's back and the other behind his knees before landing softly on the ground.

"My wife is fragile as a wind, you should be careful Gayter." Venor turned his eyes towards the demon holding a string instrument and spoke with serious expression.

Jaquer's expression turned sour with the word 'wife', but he didn't remark.

Meanwhile, Venor gently placed him on the floating seat above the lava pool before he asked, "Are you alright?"

Jaquer blinked his eyes and didn't reply. His lips were stained red, as the result of their shared intimate moment a few while ago.

Venor's eyes drew towards his lips, and a subtle smile spread across his face as he unintentionally licked his lips.

The demon took his seat and looked around the room.

The eyes of the demon official fell on the pair of demon and hunter, as they chuckled in mockery.

"If your wife is so fragile, why must the Commander Cythil marry him?" An official sitting far acoss, ridiculed them.

"If your brain is so small, why must the demon official be sitting here?" Before Venor could open his mouth, Jaquer flawlessly smiled and held the demon's hand while he continued, "He is going to marry me because he loves me. I guess there's no complexity to understanding my statement."

The hunter turned his eyes towards Venor, gaze dancing with amusement and lips pursed with a playful tug.

The other demon officials couldn't hold their laughter and wheezed at the insulted demon.

One thing about demons, they loved drama.

Being insulted by a rare human and mocked by his colleagues, the demon raised his hands. Fumed by anger, he chanted a devilish spell and spurred the lava behind Jaquer.

But before it could attack Jaquer, the lava splurged down like a puddle of goo.

"Demonic spells are forbidden within the walls of Devil's Den, Draxious."

At the centre of the room, an empty tomb stood where blue flames of fire slowly made its way to visibility.

The demon named Draxious was pulled up from his seat and thrown into the lava behind him.

The eyes within the flames glared at the demon's official sitting within a circumference before landing over the couple.

It can't control me, it can't control me...

Jaquer rang his safe mantra as he clenched Venor's hand tighter in his grasp.

The flames had a pair of eyes and a mouth, which asked, directed towards Venor, "Commander Venor, so it is indeed a truth rather than a rumour that you are planning to marry a prince of the Mortal Realm?"

"Yes, My Lord." With a smile reaching his eyes, Venor replied.

But Jaquer could feel his trembling hands. He squeezed them tighter, even though his own blood became cold, despite the warm heat somewhat burning his butt.

Without underwear, the lava's heat directly affected his sensitive area. Although not to a burning stage, but enough to make him uncomfortable with the Devil's gaze on his face.

"Introduce yourself," The Devil's flames burnt brighter as the question was thrown at Jaquer.

"Jaquer Rayfold William Leon," The hunter said, the fake name they prepared last night. Especially suggested by Hader in their meeting.

The eyes within the flame looked at Jaquer with dissatisfaction.

"Also, the Crown Prince of Pyran. Father, Rayfold II, and Mother, Leoness." He ran his mouth recklessly and said something out of their script with an awkward smile on his face.

"From what I have heard, they said the crown prince was used as a scapegoat to bring peace in the kingdom of Pyran. But here you are, smiling and chiming as if the love of your life is sitting beside you."

Jaquer looked shyly at the Devil's flame before he said, "The truce was an act that Venor and I planned together. We have been lovers for a while, and I wanted to marry him, but as a Crown Prince, it was impossible to marry the love of my life directly."

The Devil's flame looked at the Venor and Jaquer as he commented, "The Crown Prince left his Mortal Realm and his future crown just to be with the demon's commander, while the commander who should be inplanting formation over the Mortal Realm signed a truce to never disturb the Pyranian's again?"

The flame leaned backward from its tomb and laughed like a maniac as he roared, "In the name of true love? hahahahaha."

Venor and Jaquer smiled with the demon before the laughter snapped to a cease, and the Devil's flame moved before their faces and screamed, "HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU BOTH OF YOU OF SUCH IGNOMINIOUS BEHAVIOR, BOTH OF YOU MUST BE PUNISHED!"

A fire hand crawled out of the tomb and caught the hem of Jaquer's before lifting him from his seat and bringing the human body near its flaming mouth.

"If you don't want your lover to end up being my appetizer, sacrifice your blood, Venor. I will spare him." The Devil's flame sounded blissful as the Crown Prince dangled in his hand.

Venor widened his eyes with the revelation of the current situation, as he made a plea, "We came to take the parliament's blessings, why must you do that. Take my blood and leave him alone."

The Devil laughed again. He had been trying to yield Venor's blood since forever; never in his life had he thought it would take a mere human to make the crimson-eyed demon his slave.

A knife from the ceiling fell onto the table before Venor.

Venor took the knife into his hand, but instead of cutting his finger, he took the weapon and threw it towards the tomb.

Right at that moment, Jaquer summoned his demon-hunting sword from his heart and stated, "Infinity Mana of Miracle Eye, protect my soul and tear the demons apart!"

The sword slashed the flame-insentive hand before he landed right at the apex of the tomb.

The demon's officials gasped at the human whose hair danced with the wind of the flame and whose face shone with a hue of blue as they shouted, "A hunter!"
