"Not good! It's a large-scale spatial storm!" Pengyu's expression changed dramatically. "A spatial storm of this magnitude only appears once every few decades. Our luck couldn't be worse!"
The trembling grew more violent. Cracks began spreading across the ceiling of the cavern.
Even worse, black streams of spatial turbulence started leaking through those fractures, a sign that the cave's spatial stability was collapsing.
"We have to leave immediately!" Pengyu shouted. "If we don't go now, it'll be too late!"
"But what about the treasures?" Silvermoon asked anxiously, looking at the storage chests scattered around the cavern.
"Take whatever we can carry!" Pengyu began gathering the most valuable items at lightning speed. "The rest will have to be abandoned!"
Rowan immediately joined the rescue effort.
He prioritized smaller objects with immense value, especially the relics left behind by the Immortal-level experts.
However, just as he picked up Voidslash, a massive spatial rift suddenly tore open in the center of the cavern.
A horrifying suction force erupted from the crack.
Countless treasures were instantly dragged into the void.
Pengyu desperately held onto a storage chest filled with priceless crafting materials, but in the end, even his strength could not resist the pull of the spatial turbulence. He could only watch helplessly as the chest disappeared into the depths of unknown space and time.
"Damn it!" Pengyu cursed furiously.
"That chest contained materials I spent three hundred years collecting!"
Clutching Voidslash tightly against his chest, Rowan struggled to maintain his balance amid the violent currents.
Silvermoon managed to grab a smaller storage chest filled with ancient cultivation manuals.
"We can't stay here any longer!" Pengyu roared.
"The cave is about to collapse completely!"
The three of them sprinted toward the exit.
Behind them, the spatial rift expanded relentlessly, devouring everything in its path.
Just before they escaped, the Starriver Scepter was swept away by the turbulence and vanished into the endless void.
"No!"
Pengyu reached out instinctively, but there was nothing he could do.
Moments later, the trio burst from the cave.
A thunderous collapse echoed behind them.
The entire treasure vault was consumed by the spatial storm.
Centuries of collection had been destroyed in an instant.
"At least we're still alive," Rowan said, trying to comfort him.
"And we managed to save some of the treasures."
Pengyu looked at the few storage chests remaining in his hands.
Pain and regret were written all over his face.
"Eighty percent of my collection is gone."
"Especially the Starriver Scepter and those rare materials. It took me hundreds of years to gather them."
"But we still have Voidslash," Silvermoon pointed out, gesturing toward the black sword in Rowan's hand.
"This was the personal weapon of the Void Sword Saint. Its value is probably greater than everything else combined."
She wasn't wrong.
Although countless treasures had been lost, the value of Voidslash was immeasurable.
This legendary sword contained the power of Spatial Laws.
For any warrior, it was a dream beyond dreams.
"And we recovered several other valuable items as well," Rowan added while examining Silvermoon's storage chest.
"These ancient manuals are incredibly valuable."
The spatial storm lasted nearly an hour before finally calming down.
When everything returned to silence, the place where the cavern had once stood was gone.
In its place remained a gigantic spatial scar, flickering with dangerous black light.
"It looks like this place is finished," Pengyu sighed.
"My secret vault is gone."
"Don't be too upset," Rowan said.
"We escaped safely, and we obtained a divine weapon like Voidslash."
"Exactly," Silvermoon agreed.
"Obtaining an Immortal expert's relic is already an incredible stroke of fortune. Besides, there will always be opportunities to discover new treasures in the future."
The three carefully retraced their path toward the exit of the Void Rift.
Along the way, Rowan continued studying Voidslash.
The sword was much lighter than it appeared, yet it radiated unbelievable sharpness.
The law patterns engraved on its blade glowed faintly under his gaze, as though responding to his thoughts.
"It looks like the sword is accepting a master," Pengyu observed.
"Seems it has acknowledged your Kunpeng bloodline."
"Accepted a master?"
Rowan looked surprised.
"Weapons left behind by Immortal experts possess their own spirits," Pengyu explained.
"They choose the masters they deem worthy."
"If Voidslash truly recognizes you, then one day you'll be able to unleash its full power."
As soon as those words left his mouth, Voidslash erupted with dazzling brilliance.
When the light faded, the law patterns on the blade appeared even clearer.
Rowan could distinctly sense a connection forming between himself and the sword.
"It worked!"
Silvermoon exclaimed excitedly.
"Voidslash really accepted Rowan as its master!"
"Incredible," Pengyu said in amazement.
"Voidslash is famous for being extraordinarily selective."
"Even some Immortal experts failed to earn its approval."
"And yet it chose you, a mere Planetary-level warrior."
"That alone proves how limitless your potential is."
Feeling the bond growing stronger, Rowan's heart filled with excitement.
He knew he was still far from unlocking the sword's true power.
But as his cultivation improved, Voidslash would undoubtedly become his greatest weapon.
After several more hours of difficult travel, the group finally escaped the Void Rift safely.
The moment they stepped onto stable ground again, all three breathed sighs of relief.
"Despite some unfortunate losses, I'd say this expedition was a success," Pengyu concluded.
"The value of Voidslash alone compensates for everything else."
"And we gained priceless experience," Silvermoon added.
"We now understand far more about dangerous places like the Void Rift."
"Most importantly," Rowan said with a smile, "everyone came back alive."
"Life is worth more than any treasure."
By the time they returned to Silvermoon's home, evening had already arrived.
Her parents were visibly relieved to see all three of them return safely.
After hearing about their experiences inside the Void Rift, both of them broke into cold sweats.
"The fact that you came back safely is the greatest blessing," Silvermoon's mother said.
"As for the treasures, there will be opportunities to find more in the future."
"She's right," Silvermoon's father agreed.
"Nothing is more important than your lives."
That night, the three carefully reviewed everything they had gained.
Besides Voidslash, the storage chest Silvermoon had rescued contained several valuable items, including ancient cultivation manuals and rare crafting materials.
Although Pengyu had suffered tremendous losses, he had still managed to save some of his most important possessions.
"Obtaining Voidslash marks a major milestone in your cultivation journey," Pengyu told Rowan.
"But if you want to unleash its true power, you'll need to increase your strength dramatically."
"I understand," Rowan nodded.
"Still, with a divine sword like this, I have even more confidence in my future training."
"And don't forget these ancient manuals," Silvermoon said while opening the chest.
"One of them contains cultivation techniques from the ancient Kunpeng Clan. It should be extremely helpful to you."
Both Rowan and Pengyu lit up with excitement.
Ancient Kunpeng cultivation methods were invaluable for awakening and strengthening bloodline power.
In some ways, they might be even more precious than Voidslash itself.
"It seems this adventure brought us greater rewards than we expected," Pengyu said happily.
"We may have lost many treasures, but what we gained could prove far more important."
The next day.
Morning sunlight shimmered across Silvermoon Lake, bathing Swordheart Planet in warm golden light.
Rowan woke early and stepped into the courtyard for his usual morning training.
After the events inside the Void Rift, he had gained a new understanding of his own strength.
And now that he possessed Voidslash, he was eager to discover what the legendary sword could truly do.
The blade rested quietly on a stone table nearby.
Even beneath the morning sun, its surface remained deep black.
Only the glowing law patterns emitted a faint radiance, as if responding to their new master.
"Morning, Rowan."
Pengyu's voice came from behind.
He had returned to his human form and was dressed in silver-blue training attire.
He looked completely refreshed.
"Morning, Pengyu."
Rowan turned around.
"You're up early too."
"It's a habit. As a Starwing Divine Roc, I've always risen with the sun."
Pengyu walked over and glanced at Voidslash.
"So, did you try deepening your connection with it last night?"
"I did, but the results weren't great."
Rowan scratched his head.
"Even though it recognizes me as its master, I still can't fully control its power."
"Every time I try to probe deeper, a tremendous pressure forces me back."
Pengyu nodded.
"That's perfectly normal."
"Voidslash belonged to the Void Sword Saint himself."
"It contains Immortal-level Law power."
"The fact that it accepted you at all is already a miracle."
"Mastering it completely will take time."
"So how much of its power can I use right now?" Rowan asked.
"Interesting question."
Pengyu thought for a moment.
"Why don't we test it?"
"We can spar. Actual combat is the best way to judge the sword's current capabilities."
"Are you sure?" Rowan asked.
"What if I accidentally hurt you?"
Pengyu burst into laughter.
"You're underestimating me."
"Yes, you have a divine weapon, but I'm still a Starwing Divine Roc."
"My strength is comparable to a peak Universe-level expert."
"Besides, I understand Voidslash very well. I'll control the intensity of the battle."
"Fair enough."
Rowan nodded.
"But where should we do this? This courtyard seems too small."
"There's a dedicated training arena in the center of Silvermoon Lake."
Pengyu pointed toward the lake.
"It has powerful protective formations. We won't need to worry about collateral damage."
Before long, the two arrived at the training arena.
The platform was nearly a kilometer wide and constructed entirely from a special metallic material.
Complex energy circuits covered its surface.
Around the perimeter stood massive crystal pillars glowing with pale blue light.
Clearly, they formed part of a sophisticated defensive system.
"This arena was specifically built by the Silverblue Empire for high-level warriors," Pengyu explained.
"The protective array can withstand full-power attacks from Universe-level experts."
Rowan felt the immense energy flowing through the crystal pillars.
"Impressive."
"With protection like this, we can test Voidslash properly."
The two men took positions at opposite ends of the arena, roughly five hundred meters apart.
Pengyu remained in human form.
Yet his aura steadily climbed, quickly reaching an awe-inspiring level.
"Ready?" he asked.
"I'll gradually increase the intensity."
"You respond with Voidslash."
"And remember, don't force yourself. Stop immediately if it becomes too much."
"I understand."
Rowan inhaled deeply and slowly drew the sword.
The moment Voidslash left its sheath, the atmosphere of the entire arena changed.
An incomparably sharp sword intent spread across the platform.
Even the surrounding space began trembling slightly.
The law patterns on the blade shone brilliantly.
Tiny spatial fractures seemed to dance around its edge.
"What overwhelming sword intent!"
Pengyu exclaimed in admiration.
"As expected of the Void Sword Saint's weapon."
"You've only activated a fraction of its power, yet its presence is already terrifying."
Holding the divine sword, Rowan felt an unprecedented confidence surge through him.
He knew he was nowhere near mastering it completely.
But even this much power was enough to set his blood racing.
"Here I come!"
The instant Pengyu finished speaking, he vanished.
A moment later, he appeared directly in front of Rowan.
His right hand transformed into a blade-like strike, slicing forward with explosive speed and force.
Even Star-level warriors would hesitate to receive such an attack head-on.
But Rowan didn't retreat.
Instead, he raised Voidslash and met the strike directly.
The instant sword and palm collided, a jet-black sword beam erupted from the blade.
With shocking ease, it sliced through the energy barrier protecting Pengyu's hand.
Pengyu's eyes widened.
He immediately retreated.
Looking down, he discovered a small cut on his palm.
It was shallow.
But its existence alone was astonishing.
"How is that possible?"
Pengyu stared at Rowan in disbelief.
"That attack actually broke through my energy defense?"
"I'm just as surprised."
Rowan looked at the sword in his hand.
"It felt like Voidslash was fighting on its own."
"I was simply following its rhythm."
Pengyu carefully recalled what he had sensed during that brief exchange.
"That sword beam contained the power of Spatial Laws."
"It can directly sever space itself."
"My energy defense was as fragile as paper in front of it."
"Spatial Laws?"
Rowan frowned.
"How could I possibly wield something like that?"
"You aren't wielding the laws yourself," Pengyu explained.
"Voidslash contains the Void Sword Saint's understanding of Spatial Laws."
"When you swing the sword, the law power embedded within it activates automatically."
"That's why it can create a space-cutting effect."
