Chapter 37 - 2. First Encounter on the Continent of Celesta

After arriving in the new world of Luminaria through the dimensional gate, Kim Young-min discovered the potential of Hangeul-based magic through his research and experiments, succeeding in creating magic scrolls and items. Now, he resolved to head to the continent of Celesta across the sea, having learned that a thriving civilization existed on the new continent.

Upon crossing the sea and arriving on the continent of Celesta, Kim Young-min felt a sense of wonder at the new environment. His eyes were met with wide plains and cow-like animals roaming freely upon them. They sometimes appeared as cows, and other times as a hybrid of a cow and a human. Most of the animals merely watched Kim Young-min with wary eyes, but a few charged at him aggressively.

Tense, Kim Young-min drew the sword he had prepared. Though he had grown as a mage through research and experimentation, he had also practiced swordsmanship. It wasn't perfect yet, but he had learned how to use a sword for survival.

A herd of cow-like creatures charged toward Kim Young-min. He calmly took a breath and gripped his sword tightly.

"Bultaollara, Hwayeomgu!" (Burn, Fireball!) As Kim Young-min shouted, flames erupted from his hand and flew toward the bovine creatures. The creatures hit by the flames retreated with pained cries. However, some still pressed the attack.

In case his magical power ran low, Kim Young-min swung his sword. His swordsmanship was still unrefined, but it was effective when it needed to be. He swung the sword with one hand while continuing to chant magic spells with the other.

"Nunpokpung, morachyeora!" (Blizzard, rage on!) At his voice, a cold wind raged and pushed the creatures back. With a combination of magic and sword, Kim Young-min was able to fend off the attacking creatures.

After the battle, Kim Young-min caught his breath and surveyed his surroundings. The creatures no longer threatened him, and he set off on his path once more. Crossing the wide plains, he headed for the central region of the continent of Celesta.

One day, while exploring a forest, Kim Young-min discovered a woman in danger. She was beautiful and surrounded by several massive wolves. Without hesitation, he decided to save her.

"Bultaollara, Hwayeomgu!" As Kim Young-min shouted, flames erupted from his hand and flew toward the wolves. The wolves, struck by the flames, retreated with pained howls. But a few still tried to attack the woman.

Kim Young-min drew his sword and faced the wolves. His swordsmanship was still unrefined, but with courage and determination, he was able to defeat them. Finally, all the wolves retreated, and the woman was safe.

He approached her and asked, "Are you alright?"

The woman answered with a cool expression, but her words were in a language Kim Young-min couldn't comprehend.

Lilia: "Lari na haren, marenol."

Kim Young-min looked flustered, unable to understand her. He used hand gestures to show that he didn't understand.

Kim Young-min: "I'm sorry, I can't understand you."

Lilia thought for a moment, then slowly gestured for him to follow her.

Lilia: "Eseli'na." (Follow me.)

Understanding her gesture, Kim Young-min nodded and followed her. Lilia guided Kim Young-min to a nearby village.

Episode : Adventure in a Small Village

Kim Young-min and Lilia arrived in a small village. The villagers were wary at first, but they accepted Kim Young-min after Lilia's introduction. Kim Young-min began to interact with the villagers, helping them out as he did.

Since he had not yet learned or created a spell to translate languages, Kim Young-min began to acquire the language using a notebook. He attempted simple conversations with the villagers, slowly learning words and sentences.

There was an old man in the village, a wise figure who knew its history. The elder told Kim Young-min about the history of the village and the continent of Celesta, using pictures and murals to aid his explanation. Kim Young-min tried his best to understand, piecing together the meaning through context clues.

The Elder: "Karna'valen tir'na." (This mural shows the history of our village.) (Pointing to the mural) "Hic'miles. Aran'dora. Protectoris." (The warrior you see here is our ancestor. He fought to protect this village.)

Kim Young-min couldn't understand the elder's words, but he grasped the general meaning from the mural and the man's gestures. He jotted down important words in his notebook along with sketches to learn the language.

Kim Young-min: "Warrior... ancestor... protect..." (Writing in his notebook) "I understand."

The elder smiled and nodded.

One day, a giant bear appeared and threatened the villagers. Kim Young-min and Lilia stepped forward to defeat it.

Kim Young-min: "Bultaollara, Hwayeomgu!" (Burn, Fireball!) Flames erupted from his hand and flew toward the bear. The bear was struck by the fire and retreated with a pained roar, but it did not give up easily.

Lilia: "Natura, exsurge!" (Power of nature, rise!) At her voice, vines grew from the earth and bound the bear. Working together, Kim Young-min and Lilia were able to defeat the beast.

After the battle, the villagers expressed their gratitude to Kim Young-min and Lilia. A villager approached Kim Young-min and said, with a gesture of thanks:

Villager: "Gratia." (Thank you.)

Kim Young-min smiled and nodded. "You're welcome."

During his stay in the village, Kim Young-min experienced many things, further honing his magic and swordsmanship. He learned a great deal from the villagers, and living among them allowed him to further develop his powers.

One day, Kim Young-min was helping out in the marketplace when a child approached and spoke to him.

Child: "Name... Kim Young-min?"

Surprised, Kim Young-min nodded. "Yes, my name is Kim Young-min."

Child: "Magic... show?"

Kim Young-min smiled and raised his hand. "Bultaollara, jageun bulkkot!" (Burn, little flame!) A small flame blossomed in his palm. The child's eyes sparkled with joy.

Child: "Wow! Cool!"

Pleased by the child's reaction, Kim Young-min said, "Thank you. Are you interested in magic?"

Child: "Yeah! I wanna be a mage too!"

Kim Young-min smiled at the child. "Then study hard, and someday you'll be a great mage too."

As he continued to learn the language with his notebook, communicating with the villagers gradually became easier. He came to understand their culture and adapted to their way of life. Kim Young-min began to feel less like a stranger and more like a member of the village.

Lilia: "Kim Young-min, you have become an important member of our village now. Let's continue to work together."

Kim Young-min: "Yes, I'm happy to be with you all. I have learned so much here, and I hope to learn much more."

The villagers welcomed Kim Young-min warmly, ready to start a new adventure with him. By living with the villagers, Kim Young-min's life in the new world became ever richer.

Episode : Journey to the High Elf Forest

After finishing his adventure in the village, Kim Young-min, along with Lilia, decided to head to the forest of the High Elves. Lilia had agreed to teach Kim Young-min more deeply about High Elven culture and help him further develop his magic and swordsmanship.

Before setting off, Kim Young-min said goodbye to the villagers. They gave him a warm send-off, wishing him luck on his journey ahead. Cherishing his time with them, Kim Young-min set out on the road to the High Elf Forest.

Lilia began to explain the various environments and plants of the forest to Kim Young-min. He listened to her explanations and took notes, absorbing the new knowledge.

Lilia: "Ecce, herba haec est 'Alicis Berry'" (Look, this plant is an 'Alicis Berry.') "It's an edible fruit, excellent for replenishing energy."

Kim Young-min wrote down the fruit's name and characteristics in his notebook.

Kim Young-min: "Alicis Berry... I'll have to remember that."

Lilia: "Et illic est 'Rubia Herb.'" (And over there is 'Rubia Herb.') "This herb is poisonous, so you must never eat it. But when used as a medicinal herb, it helps to alleviate pain."

Kim Young-min carefully noted the herb's name and the warning as well. He tried not to miss a single piece of information necessary for survival in this world.

As they journeyed together, Kim Young-min worked even harder to learn the language from Lilia. He applied the words he learned from his notebook in real life, and little by little, he became able to hold a conversation. Lilia saw his effort and encouraged him with a smile.

Lilia: "Bene, Kim Young-min. Sermo tuus multum profecit." (Good, Kim Young-min. Your language skills have improved a lot now.)

Kim Young-min: "Thank you, Lilia. I've learned a lot thanks to you."

While walking through the forest, Kim Young-min marveled at the natural beauty of the continent of Celesta. The landscape, with its giant trees stretching toward the sky, streams flowing with clear water, and a harmony of colorful flowers, was like a scene from a fairy tale.

Kim Young-min: "This place is truly beautiful."

Lilia: "The continent of Celesta is a place full of nature's power. We live in harmony with it."

As they walked, Kim Young-min and Lilia faced an unexpected danger. A creature resembling a giant bear appeared before them. Tense, Kim Young-min drew his sword.

Kim Young-min: "Be careful, Lilia!"

Lilia: "Natura, adiuva nos!" (Power of nature, aid us!)

He cooperated with her to face the creature. He attacked it using a mix of magic and his sword, while Lilia used vines to restrain its movements.

At the end of the battle, they finally defeated the creature. Kim Young-min let out a sigh of relief and approached Lilia.

Kim Young-min: "Are you okay?"

Lilia: "Yes, I'm safe thanks to you. Thank you, Kim Young-min."

Continuing their journey, Kim Young-min and Lilia finally arrived at the High Elf Forest. The forest was mystical and beautiful, a place filled with the power of nature. The High Elves looked at Kim Young-min as a stranger, as humans did not often come to this forest.

An Elf: "Humanus in silva... rarum est." (A human in the High Elf Forest... a rare sight indeed.)

Kim Young-min felt nervous under their gazes, but Lilia reassured him.

Lilia: "Don't worry. I'll introduce you."

Lilia took Kim Young-min to her home. It was a beautiful place in harmony with nature. The house, made of wood, blended perfectly with its surroundings.

Lilia: "This is my home. Please, come in."

Kim Young-min entered Lilia's house. The inside was filled with a warm and cozy atmosphere. Lilia served him tea and said:

Lilia: "It would be good to rest here for a bit and plan our next steps."

Kim Young-min: "Thank you, Lilia. This is a really beautiful place."

Lilia: "The High Elf Forest is a place where we live in harmony with the power of nature. I'm sure you will learn many things here too, Kim Young-min."

At that moment, Lilia's parents entered the room. Lilia's mother said with an elegant smile:

Lilia's Mother: "Lilia, you've brought a guest."

Lilia: "Mother, Father, this is Kim Young-min. He is a human, but he is learning many things while staying with us."

Lilia's Father: "Salve, Kim Young-min. Gratum est te in domo nostra habere." (Welcome, Kim Young-min. We welcome you to our home.)

Kim Young-min bowed his head respectfully in greeting.

Kim Young-min: "Hello. Thank you for inviting me."

Lilia's Mother: "I will prepare a meal, so please wait a moment."

A short while later, Lilia's parents guided Kim Young-min to the dining table. A variety of foods were prepared on the table. Kim Young-min was amazed at the food prepared by the High Elves. It was filled with all sorts of fruits, vegetables, and dishes with a mystical aroma.

Lilia's Mother: "Please, eat as much as you like. All this food comes from nature."

Kim Young-min expressed his thanks and tasted the food. It was fresh and delicious, and he was deeply impressed by the High Elves' cuisine.

Kim Young-min: "This is really delicious. Thank you."

Lilia's Father: "I'm glad you enjoy it. Kim Young-min, if there is anything you need here, please don't hesitate to ask."

Kim Young-min: "Thank you. I would like to learn many things here."

After the meal, Lilia said she would show him more of the forest.

Lilia: "Kim Young-min, would you like to see more of the forest after our meal? There are many mystical places here."

Kim Young-min: "I'd love to, Lilia. I want to know more about this place."

Lilia guided Kim Young-min into the forest, helping him to understand the life and culture of the High Elves more deeply. As Kim Young-min explored the High Elf Forest with Lilia, his journey entered a new phase.

A few days later, Lilia decided to introduce Kim Young-min to the High Elf Council. She wanted to help him be formally recognized by High Elf society.

Lilia: "Kim Young-min, today we are going to meet the Elder of the High Elf Council. Greeting him will be helpful for your stay here."

Kim Young-min: "I understand, Lilia. Thank you."

Lilia took Kim Young-min to the council's meeting hall. The hall was decorated with natural trees and flowers, and in the center sat the elders. One of them was the head of the council.

Lilia: "Greetings, Elder. This is Kim Young-min. He is a human, but he is learning many things while staying with us."

Elder: "Salve, Kim Young-min. Gratum est te videre." (Welcome, Kim Young-min. We welcome you here.)

Kim Young-min bowed his head respectfully in greeting.

Kim Young-min: "Hello. Thank you for having me."

Elder: "Kim Young-min, how is your life here?"

Kim Young-min: "It is very interesting, and I am learning a great deal. However, to settle here and live among you, I believe I will need a name."

Elder: "I see. Then what name would you like to use?"

Kim Young-min thought for a moment before answering.

Kim Young-min: "I would like to use the name Merslin."

The Elder heard the name and seemed to ponder it for a moment before smiling.

Elder: "That is a fine name. It would be good for you to go by that name from now on."

Kim Young-min was pleased to receive the Elder's permission.

Kim Young-min: "Thank you, Elder. I look forward to learning much more."

Elder: "Merslin, if there is anything you need here, speak at any time. We are more than willing to help you."

Kim Young-min expressed his thanks in reply.

Kim Young-min: "Thank you. I am grateful for your help."

After the meeting, Lilia said to Kim Young-min:

Lilia: "So now you'll be called Merslin. Congratulations!"

Merslin: "Thank you, Lilia. It's all thanks to your help."

And so, Kim Young-min came to be called by the new name of Merslin in the High Elf Forest. He continued to learn the life and culture of the High Elves with Lilia, further developing his magic and swordsmanship. Merslin was now ready to face new challenges as a member of the High Elves
