In the medical room where it was just the two of them, Caelum showed Selene a document file containing past data. He had gotten the file from the trial, and the results of his own investigation because he was interested in Selene's case.
"Are you so interested in me that you did the investigation yourself? I was touched when I heard that, you really want to know what I was like in the past," he said.
Although still looking very relaxed, Caelum could see that Selene's smile was different from usual. It was a sarcastic smile, where she really didn't want Caelum to know what her past was like.
Or maybe she just didn't want to know about her past anymore.
"Alright, tell me what you found out and I'll confirm whether the information you got is true or not," she said again as she crossed her legs awkwardly.
"I will begin. Listen carefully, because I want to know about the truth of this information," he said.
As soon as he opened the folder in his hand, the door to the medical room suddenly opened and two guards brought one of the male prisoners to lie down next to the bed where Selene was.
The male prisoner's face looked battered, probably because he had just finished fighting or other prisoners were bullying him.
The two warders who brought the prisoner looked surprised to see their chief and Selene there.
"Chief, we didn't know you were here." The two prison guards immediately stomped their feet and saluted their leader.
They then turned to Selene who was sitting casually on the edge of the nurse's bed in the medical room. She smiled and gave a small wave to both of them, making them feel confused. They had heard that she had fallen unconscious from being bullied by the other female prisoners.
"We heard you fainted, are you awake now?"
She nodded her head and played with her hair. "Yes, Chief Rothwell came and kissed me like a prince. And in a few seconds I finally woke up."
The two men were surprised at her answer, which made her chuckle at their reactions. Reflexively they turned to Caelum, who was silent as he held the document in his lap.
They didn't dare ask, but they also doubted that their leader was now wavering after Selene's arrival. There had never been any strange rumors about the chief before. But just two weeks after Selene's arrival, some rumors had already started to appear about the two of them.
"I think it's best if we postpone our conversation for now." He stood up from his chair, always wearing his hat again as he turned to her.
"Quickly stand up and follow me. I will personally escort you back to your cell room," he continued his sentence.
She grabbed his arm, and climbed down the medical bed. "My body still feels weak, let me hold on to your arm to walk," she said making excuses.
Caelum averted his eyes and walked ahead, leaving Selene behind. Instead of being annoyed, she chuckled at the Chief Warden's coldness.
"Playing hard, hmn? We'll see who goes down hard."
The grin on her face accompanied her as she walked after Caelum who had already left the medical room.

The next day, the female prisoners finally went to do the men's work of breaking rocks. All the female prisoners were involved, except Selene.
At breakfast, the cafeteria was deserted as many of the female prisoners were not there. Only a few of them were from other blocks that were not involved in yesterday's incident.
The male prisoners were whispering, talking about it and they saw Selene who had just entered the cafeteria alone.
"There she is! I heard that yesterday the other prisoners tried to do something bad to her and now they ended up getting a punishment of breaking rocks," said one of the male prisoners.
"Breaking rocks? That's so tiring. What did they do to deserve that punishment anyway?"
The other male prisoners did not know. Although they were in the same block, the female prisoners chose to keep quiet and not say anything about it when they were in their cell rooms.
However, seeing Selene walking into the cafeteria, even though the female prisoners in the same block as her were all punished. It made them wonder about that. Why was she the only one not punished?
Selene picked up her iron tray to get some food. As she lined up to get her food, one of the kitchen staff give her an offer that he regretted right then and there.
"I will give you more meat than the others. As long as you fuck with me," he said with a sly grin at her.
For most women, that would be considered harassment. Where a man asks for sex in exchange for a piece of meat. Is a woman worth a small piece of meat to him?
However, Selene took it in her stride and did not seem angry at all. Maybe that's just how it looked from the outside.
"That's fine," she replied.
The grin on his face widened, once he heard her answer. He added two scoops of meat to Selene's bowl which made it look fuller and more plentiful than the other prisoners.
However, it turned out that Selene had not finished speaking and she immediately continued her sentence.
"Just try to do it. I'll break your fucking cock before you can touch me." Her gaze sharpened, but what appeared on her lips was a menacing grin.
She brought her tray over and said, "Thanks for the extra meat."
The woman then chose to sit in an empty place every day. Because there were not that many prisoners in Redboiler Prison. So there are still a lot of empty tables even though all the prisoners gather to eat in the canteen.
However, since most of the female prisoners were not in the cafeteria that morning, the cafeteria looked much quieter.
As Selene enjoyed her breakfast, she heard a few men start whispering about someone who had just arrived in the cafeteria.
"Dargon's here! Dargon's here!" they whispered.
They started fussing over a man with a huge body, walking into the cafeteria with some of his men. The man, who looked terrifying, had a tattoo over his left eye and his gaze was so intense that it frightened the other prisoners.
Selene only took a quick glance at the man who was walking straight towards the food collection area.
'He's big, tattooed and has a lot of men. The other prisoners are also starting to make noise about him. Could he be one of the gang leaders in this prison?' she thought.
However, she didn't really care and continued eating her breakfast. Savoring the meat that could not be 3 times as much as it should be.
A few minutes passed, while Selene was still enjoying her meal she suddenly heard footsteps walking towards her. As soon as she turned around, it was Dargon and his men.
"You're sitting at our table. Now get lost, you little bitch," they yelled at her.
"There are plenty of empty seats for you to choose from. I was here first," she replied.
"We don't want to. We want to stay seated at this table and you'd better leave or else..."
Selene did not move at all from her seat, she did not even show fear like the other prisoners.
Annoyed, one of Dargon's men took Selene's iron tray and threw it away. Making the meat she had deliberately eaten last wasted.
"Now go, you fuckin whore!"
They laughed out loud, seeing how Selene silently stared at her spilled iron tray and the food she could no longer eat. The other prisoners' breath was held as they witnessed this.
Little did Dargon and his men know, they had just started a terrible war with the Goddess of Death.
