"So, what can I do for you, Lord Omnevis?"
"I require a map. I need to go to a place your people call Frost Islands."
"Frost Islands? We know that place. We hunt monsters there and gather herbs for some of our potions. Can I ask the reason, my lord?"
"There is something I need to check in that place. I cannot say what it is just yet, but it is important."
Fugen nods his head and walks to the drawer to the left. I watch him take out a scroll and open it on the ground. He points at the archipelago on the northern side of the map. He points at the biggest island among them and says.
"These are the Frost Islands. We usually hunt on the biggest island in the archipelago. You can fly to the Northeast here, my lord. When you reach the Northern Tundra, look for the massive harpoon stabbed into a massive skeleton."
Ah, that must have been the Zorah Magdaros who died in that area. I love the lore of monster hunters, and I know that Zorah Magdaros died because an army of hunters killed the giant Elder Dragon in that area, from all the Relic Records you can gather in the game.
Hell, you can find all the bones scattered around the region in the game.
It is a pyrrhic victory for the army, and they die immediately from the monsters that get close to them. The last Relic Record talks about a curse, and now that I know, there is a curse about hunting with more than four personnel that is real… I think it is truly a curse that kills them all after they kill the Elder Dragon.
"Zorah Magdaros"
"I beg your pardon?"
"Zorah Magdaros. That is the name of the bones in that area. An army of hunters is the one that kills him."
Fugen looks at me in shock, and I can see a light appear in his eyes.
"May I ask if you are willing to tell me about the history of that fight, my lord?"
I shake my head and say.
"No. I will not tell you that. However, you can visit that place yourself. There are hints from the hunters of the past regarding what was happening in their time."
There is also the fact that I don't know anything other than the basic lore the developer created for us in the game. However, this is the real world, and more lore may be scattered around the Frost Islands for them to find.
"I see. I understand. Thank you for your information, my lord. Is there anything else we can do for you, my lord?"
"Hmmmm~ I want to eat some food before I depart. Do you have any recommendations?"
For some reason, he grins at my statement and nods his head.
"Of course! Let me take you to one of the best restaurants in the region!"
I let him take me to the restaurant. I wave my hand at the people looking at me, and I'm ready to enjoy my time in this village.
{{{===}}}
I look down, making sure I am not flying past the island. My sense as a Planeswalker is not good because this world is full of colored mana, and there are a lot of Blue Mana sources in this part of the region.
There are many islands, most of which are tundras and glaciers. That kind of land generates a lot of Blue Mana, making tracking my target a bit harder.
Lucky for me, Fugen gave me the map and list of landmarks I needed to pass through before reaching the Frost Islands. The people in the Monster Hunter world have already achieved flight, you know? I have already seen the flying boats they use, and they are rather fascinating.
Unlike planes back on Earth, the flying boats they use do not release any pollution, making them very environmentally friendly. It is much slower than a plane, but can maintain its flight far longer than a plane.
They use Firecell Stone to fuel their flying boat. One kilogram of that stone can make the boat fly for three hours straight without stopping while maintaining the highest speed.
I shake my head and continue to look around. I widen my eyes when I see a massive bone in the middle of a clearing with a harpoon resembling a dragonator. I land next to the bone and roar.
I announce my presence and release my power to back up my claim. The monsters in the area immediately notice me, and their reactions vary. The stronger monsters start to run away in panic, and the weaker ones faint immediately.
I can feel this part of the region already claimed by an Elder Dragon, but she stays in the distance, at the highest peak of Frost Islands. She notices me, but she does not move.
I can feel her presence even from here. She is strong. Her presence brings chills, which means her element is Ice. There is only one Elder Dragon in this area that fits that description. She is Shadow Upon the Tempest, Kushala Daora.
I look at her direction for a few minutes, and when I see she does not make a move, I nod.
I walk toward the bone and take a deep breath. I tap into the land and feel a rush of mana entering my body. Most of them are Blue mana, but Black mana is also entering my body. This island is a grave, after all. This is the grave of many monsters and hunters.
After connecting to the land, I connect to the remains of the Elder Dragon in front of me. Suddenly, I can see memories appear in my mind. It is a memory of the Zorah Magdaros. It is a memory of him fighting through an army of hunters that hunt him for a month straight.
He fights them nonstop as they keep coming. He fights on land and even at sea. In fact, the giant harpoon is the Dragonator, the army of hunters shoots from their Dragon Ship, a bigger variant of the flying boat, that hits the weakened spot on his head.
That weak spot appeared after the hunters hit his hide hundreds of times to crack the armor and form that weak spot.
The dragonator causes a lot of damage, and almost reaches his brain, but it is not enough to kill him. The Zorah Magdaros releases a massive beam of fire from his mouth to destroy the Dragon Ship, and before he falls, he breaks the massive ship the hunters use in half, dooming them to these isolated islands.
I snap out of the trance and feel something appear in my subconscious. I just got a Legendary Creature to summon. I can now summon Zorah Magdaros. As a Legendary Creature, it receives a massive boost from my magic, making it more powerful than the one I saw before.
However, there is a downside. As a Legendary-rank creature, only one can exist in a single world. That means I can only summon one Legendary Zorah Magdaros in this world.
And I understand why. The one I saw in my vision has already changed the climate in this region in the past. All the snow and ice in this region melt from the fight between him and the hunters, and the ocean water rises quite a bit from the melted ice because of the heat he releases.
He can even change the weather as the clouds above this region turn black and the sky turns red from all the heat. Legendary Zorah Magdaros? Increase that power by ten. It can affect global weather if let loose long enough.
To be fair, I can also do that, but unlike the Zorah Magdaros, I can use all elements. I just don't want to do it in this world because it will destroy the world's ecosystem.
I shake my head and take a deep breath. It is time for me to do what I want to do in this land. I gather the Blue mana in the area and condense it. Unlike other mana, Blue mana gets more stable the older it is because its stagnation characteristic gets stronger the more it ages.
This is the reason why I want to come here. I need to gather the stable Blue mana to make a stable magic formation for my training ground. The fact that stagnation is something that I need to slow down time is also an added bonus.
I condense the blue mana and create a massive blue orb. It is five meters in diameter and around 50 kilograms in weight. It is also very cold to touch, and if not for my affinity to Ice and my high resistance to Ice, my hand would freeze from the cold.
It takes me ten minutes to get what I want, and it is time for me to leave.
