Receiving Aphelius’ attention right before her eyes, Eutostea’s cheeks turned red as if she exposed her embarrassing personal matters. She felt so humiliated and betrayed that she had a razor-blade pain in her heart.
“I’m asking you who the person is.”
“That’s such a question to ask, instead of inquiring how your daughter is doing, such as whether she got sexually violated or not.”
“You are the princess of Thebes before you’re my daughter.”
“Yes. And an ‘unpretty princess.’ I can tell that from you throwing me as bait for a blind dog to take.”
Her voice sounded sarcastic and pungent. Eutostea’s face engaged in a self-mocking smile. Her stubbornness seemed like she inherited it from her father. Neither of them gave an inch and were in a fierce standoff.
“I’ll tell you about my virginity and the person I’ve become intimate with when the hawk returns from Delphi. Just as you said, as the princess of Thebes.”
