Dionysus slammed shut his mouth. A woman who turned into a heap of dry bones. Ariadne was dead. She breathed her last in his arms and implored him to forget her.
‘Please burn me. Please remove this body and our home without a trace. And please forget me. I don’t want to be in your pain even after death.’
He also heard her scolding him at the River Styx.
‘You promised me.’
The dead shed bloody tears.
‘Your obsession is holding me, this dead body, so tight.’
