IVAN'S POV
"I have the evidence of my destroyed smartphone! And… and I could try to get my father's best technicians to reassemble the microchip…"
This was a waste of time.
"Get out of my sight, Serena."
"Ivan! You have to believe me! Maeve is a witch—or a spy—or something worse—"
"Isn't it just a little much of a coincidence that you were also in my room, Serena?" I turned to her now, my hard gaze pinning her in place. "Isn't it a little too much of a coincidence that you got into a brutal fight with Maeve when I was absent—then had her locked up with the intention of whipping her with her son present?" I frowned, low and dangerous, my rage returning.
Serena shrank back, eyes wide. "Well, that was the Luna's idea—not mine! I was simply waiting to catch Maeve in your room."
"Waiting to catch Maeve? In my room." My voice dropped lower, more dangerous.
Serena shuffled back. "I—I just had a… hunch that she might pull something like that."
