Chapter 3 - a demon

"Prince, this is not possible. That warrior is incredibly powerful. It's because of him that this place is still safe. If we dare to do such a foolish thing in front of him, he will kill us."

"I don't care. That girl must die."

Just then, a soldier standing nearby smirks and speaks,

"Prince, my name is Leela. If you want that girl, you'll get her. But in return, you must make me rich."

The prince looks at the boy and replies,

"Your name is strange, but I like you. I will make you rich—just bring me that girl. Kill her if you have to."

Leela responds,

"Prince, getting that girl won't be easy. You'll have to use force. She's not extremely powerful. As for Traahi, I'll handle him."

Hearing this, the prince becomes pleased and says,

"Oh, excellent! Ask her. If she refuses—kill her."

Leela then walks up to Traahi and says,

"How are you? Come aside for a moment, I have something important to discuss."

Traahi, sensing something strange, steps aside, but just then, he feels something unusual. Quickly, he strikes Leela—but it might have been too late. Leela had already made his move.

He had powers. In this world, humans could inherit the power of animals, and by killing other animals or humans, they could grow stronger. They could enslave an animal to gain its abilities, or possess one of the five elemental powers.

As Leela approaches Traahi, he says,

"Do you know how much I hate it when this entire kingdom sings your praises? It feels like lava is being poured into my ears—it gives me a headache. I've always wanted to erase you. And now I finally have the chance."

Leela, who possessed the power of a snake, paralyzes Traahi and throws him to the ground. Traahi is writhing in pain, while Leela continues:

"And don't worry about your wife and child—your wife will be kept by the prince, in his lustful hands. And your son… he'll be killed. So tell me, what else do you want in life, except death?"

Hearing this, Traahi's eyes widen. He speaks with great difficulty:

"Wha... what have you done?"

Leela smirks and says,

"Oh, don't worry—I didn't do anything. It's all the prince's doing. Who knows, maybe..."

Furious, Traahi shouts,

"Remove this spell just once and I'll show you what real power is!"

Leela laughs loudly and says,

"Am I mad, or does it say idiot on my forehead? If I fight you head-on, I'll never win!"

Traahi, now helpless, suddenly remembers something and whispers in his mind:

"Lord Dattaraj (demon) hear my call. I'm ready to merge with you."

Tears fall from his eyes. Suddenly, a voice echoes from the sky:

"Hee hee ha ha ha ha ha ha! Traahi, I told you long ago—this world is loyal to no one. Stop helping others. One day, those same people will stab you in the back and forget your sacrifices. Look at me—I'm here today, and so are you."

Dark clouds fill the sky. Thunder roars, and a storm begins. Traahi says,

"Free me. I must save my family!"

Laughter echoes from all sides. The city is now filled with fear. Leela, standing next to Traahi, panics and says,

"Traahi, what's happening to you? Why is this black energy coming out of your body?"

Traahi's entire body is engulfed in dark energy. His eyes turn blood red. Terrified, Leela stumbles backward and falls. Traahi stands up and silently walks past him. Just passing by him causes Leela to convulse in pain and die instantly.
