Cooking for one person didn't need to be complicated. Haneul used what was available and made a bowl of ramen. He came out of the kitchen and announced, "Master, dinner's ready!"
Tsunade climbed off the sofa and went to the dining table. She was a bit surprised to see only one bowl. "Who did you have dinner with?" she asked casually, picking up her chopsticks.
"Fugaku Uchiha," Haneul briefly explained what had happened.
"Shisui awakened his Sharingan at such a young age?" Tsunade was surprised. If anyone knew the Uchiha clan best, it wasn't Madara or Fugaku, but Tobirama Senju. His research on the Sharingan was incredibly thorough. As Tsunade, she had naturally read his work. She remembered that Madara, hailed as the strongest Uchiha, had awakened his at around twelve. Could Shisui's talent be even greater?
"Mhm," Haneul nodded. "The Sharingan certainly lives up to its reputation."
"The Uchiha Jonin have a legend of being invincible in one-on-one battles on the battlefield," Tsunade said, slurping her noodles. "Once Shisui awakens his three-tomoe, it will be very difficult for you to win against him again."
"Not necessarily," Haneul said with a smile. "I have great confidence in my teacher."
"What does that have to do with me?" Tsunade was a bit confused.
"A great teacher produces a great student," Haneul explained with a slight cough. "If the teacher is amazing, the student will be too."
"You sure know how to talk!" Tsunade rolled her eyes at him, then put on a serious face. "You've been learning swordsmanship all this time. Have you forgotten about Monstrous Strength?"
"Definitely not," Haneul said, glancing at his trait progress bar. "I estimate I can learn it this year."
"This year?" Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "You're quite confident." If he could learn it this year, it wouldn't be slow; it would be incredibly fast. In the original story, Sakura Haruno had taken about three years to learn medical ninjutsu and Monstrous Strength, while Shizune had never learned it at all. Their talent in medical ninjutsu was already astounding, which just showed how difficult Monstrous Strength was to learn.
"I can't bring shame to you, Master," Haneul said seriously.
"If you can learn it, you won't just be not shaming me, you'll be making me proud," Tsunade said with a smile.
"Then you can look forward to it, Master," Haneul smiled back. With his cheat system and hard work, it would be strange if he couldn't learn it.
"By the way, I accepted a mission today," Tsunade suddenly remembered.
"What mission?" Haneul's eyes lit up. His last mission had been a month ago. He was getting bored with all the training and it was time to go out for a bit. And who knows, he might run into another genius like Mei Terumi to help him farm talents.
"Catching a spy," Tsunade said casually.
Haneul's heart skipped a beat. Could it be a Cloud Village spy? A spy's gotta do what a spy's gotta do, but this was a necessary sacrifice.
"A spy from the Hidden Stone Village," Tsunade said, drinking some of the ramen broth. "They're scheduled to meet tomorrow morning in the nearby Tanzaku Quarters."
"What's the mission rank?" Haneul wondered about the geniuses of the Hidden Stone. At this point in time, had that "explosion is art" guy, Deidara, been born yet? Even if he had, it was unlikely he'd be a spy. As for the future Tsuchikage, Kurotsuchi, she was even younger, the same age as Neji, so she definitely hadn't been born yet.
"B-Rank," Tsunade said, then paused. "Don't worry, you definitely won't run into a Jonin like last time."
"Oh," Haneul acknowledged. "When do we leave tomorrow?"
"Tanzaku Quarters is about two hours from Konoha," Tsunade said after some thought. "6 AM tomorrow morning. Remember to come over early to make breakfast."
"I'm your student, not your manservant," Haneul couldn't help but complain.
"Did I charge you any tuition fees for being my student?" Tsunade shot him a look. "Making you cook is a huge bargain for you."
"Yeah, yeah, right," Haneul said dismissively.
"You little brat!" Tsunade put down her chopsticks, stood up, and leaned forward. "Are you looking for a beating?" she said with a serious expression, unleashing her authority as a teacher.
Haneul's body stiffened. What is that blocking my view? He struggled to look up and said meekly, "You're right, Master. I'll go wash the dishes now."
Tsunade pouted. The little brat was too slippery, leaving her feeling unsatisfied.
After washing the dishes, Haneul went outside. He spent two hours training in Monstrous Strength, leaving the ground in a complete mess, before finally stopping.
The next day.
Haneul arrived at Tsunade's house early. He woke her up and then made breakfast. As Tsunade passed the kitchen after washing up, she paused. She looked inside and saw Haneul's busy figure. A dazed look appeared on her face. She didn't know when, but she had gotten used to his presence. If he weren't here one day, she wouldn't be able to adapt.
"Master, stop staring. Grab the bowls and chopsticks and go outside," Haneul said, glancing at her without ceremony.
"..." Tsunade's sentimental moment was instantly shattered. She walked over, roughly ruffled his hair, and then picked up the bowls and chopsticks.
Haneul was used to it. He silently made a note in his little black book. He would definitely get her back for this one day.
After breakfast, the two of them left. "I've specifically requested two Anbu to accompany us. They'll take the spies back to Konoha," Tsunade said, rubbing her hands together excitedly. "As for us, we'll go hit the casino for a few rounds."
Haneul now understood why she had taken this mission. She had an ulterior motive. Tanzaku Quarters had been mentioned in the original story. It was a bustling street, a veritable den of pleasure, and Tsunade often went there to gamble. Now that she had Haneul, and without her hemophobia, she went less often.
Two hours later, they arrived. It was only 8 AM, but the streets were already crowded. Haneul glanced around and saw many scantily clad young women standing outside izakayas, trying to attract customers. Tsunade's gaze had already drifted to a nearby casino. She cleared her throat and said, "Just like last time, you'll handle the mission alone."
Haneul nodded. He already knew this from last night, so he wasn't surprised. When he looked up again, Tsunade had vanished. He looked around and quickly identified his target: an inn called the Amaterasu-in. According to the mission, he needed to capture the Iwa spy and his contact alive. It would most likely be two Chunin.
Transformation Jutsu! In a puff of smoke, Haneul's body grew, transforming into an unremarkable thirty-year-old man. He walked into the inn and checked in. After the attendant left, Haneul climbed out the window and soon arrived at the room of the Iwa spy.
Only one person? Haneul peeked through the window and saw a middle-aged man in the room. He thought for a moment and decided to just knock.
"Who is it?" the man asked warily.
"Room service," Haneul made up an excuse.
"Not needed," the man refused.
Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Technique! Haneul formed hand seals, and the moment they were complete, he kicked the door open, making eye contact with the man.
The man was about to speak when the scene before him changed. He was in the Hokage's office, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, was glaring at him. "You've been exposed!"
"No! Don't kill me!" The man's face was filled with terror. The Hell Viewing Technique showed the target their greatest fear. As a spy, his greatest fear was being exposed.
Haneul walked over and delivered a punch, physically releasing him from the genjutsu. The man immediately fell into a baby-like sleep. Haneul propped him up at a table, then flickered up to the rafters to hide, preventing anyone from seeing him through the window or the door crack.
Time ticked by. A few minutes later, a knock came at the door. The rhythm was distinct: three long, two short, repeated. Haneul recalled the 'Ninja Ciphers' taught in class. This was clearly the Hidden Stone's special contact method. He jumped down and opened the door.
"You..." The young ninja who entered saw the unfamiliar Haneul and his pupils contracted. But the next second, he fell into a daze. Haneul used the same method to knock him out.
"Genjutsu is really convenient," a figure flickered into existence. It was Tsunade, who had been hiding in the shadows. She had witnessed the whole thing. It was indeed very clever; he hadn't just rushed in with brute force. She had thought he would be too proud to use such underhanded tactics and had been ready to lecture him, but it turned out to be unnecessary. A bit of a pity. This kid was too excellent, not letting her experience the joy of being a teacher.
"Haru," Tsunade clapped her hands and called out.
"Lady Tsunade," two masked Anbu appeared, one in front and one behind.
"Take them back to the old man," Tsunade said, handing over a mission scroll. "And turn in the mission for me."
"Yes," the Anbu named Haru took the scroll, and with his partner, hoisted the two unconscious spies and left.
"Let's go!" Tsunade was immediately excited. "To the casino!"
"Yes," Haneul sighed.
Tsunade strode into a casino like a regular. "Lady Tsunade! It's been a while!" The owner's eyes lit up when he saw her, all but shouting "big spender."
"Hmph!" Tsunade sat at a gambling table and said confidently, "I'm going to win back everything I lost before!" The last time she was in Tanzaku Quarters, she didn't have Haneul. But now, it was different!
Tsunade casually picked Haneul up and placed him on her lap. The familiar fragrance wafted over him. He sniffed and then resignedly buried his face in her chest.
What's going on? I didn't hear that Tsunade got married. The owner was puzzled, but what difference did one kid make?
Soon, however, he realized something was wrong. "Hahaha!" Tsunade was laughing heartily. Haneul frowned. He had been sleeping soundly, only to be woken up by a bouncing ball. It was infuriating.
