Chapter 47 - Wedding Night

This time, Jay didn't return home, but instead went to his grandfather's house to host a wedding dinner together.

This was a tradition in William's family, where the first wedding dinner was held at the bride's family.

So, as the representative of the Ameno, his grandfather's house was the venue for the wedding banquet.

Sitting in the decorated horse-drawn carriage, Jay and Ameno felt a slight sense of ambiguity.

As a newlywed couple, they had experienced something neither of them had ever expected.

They had met for just one day, and then the next day they were married. This was the shortest and quickest wedding Jay had ever experienced—at least that's what he knew, both in his previous and current lives.

Because usually, besides getting to know each other, it takes several weeks or even months before a couple finally decides to marry.

Furthermore, after they decide to marry, there are additional preparations to be made, such as the dowry and various other requirements they must agree to.

And this time, everything was very brief and expedited for Jay and Ameno's wedding.

"How do you feel?" Jay asked Ameno, trying to break the ice after officially becoming husband and wife.

Of course, Jay had to be responsible as a husband, so now he wanted to know Ameno's feelings.

After all, Kareena and I were strangers to each other to some extent.

"I'm happy, but I'm also a little sad. It feels like everything's mixed up," Ameno replied with a smile but also a hint of worry.

Hearing Ameno's answer, Jay understood his wife's considerations.

Coming to an unknown world, meeting a young man she didn't know, and ultimately deciding to marry for survival.

It was a very difficult thing for an ordinary woman in general, but for Ameno, who was also a ninja, it was especially difficult.

It might have been easier, but deep down, it wasn't something she could truly do voluntarily.

There were certainly objections and displeasure in his heart, but compared to continuing to survive, that was a more rational choice.

"Let's just go with it, and if possible, we'll try to find a way home for you." Jay didn't promise Ameno anything heavy.

After all, he didn't have the knowledge to visit the ninja world at the moment, but he wasn't discouraged, as with the system he had in place, the possibility would surely come someday.

"Hmm," Ameno replied with a smile.

Soon they arrived at Jay's grandfather's house, where a festive atmosphere was immediately evident.

There was a yellow sign, a craft made from coconut leaves, signifying a wedding.

Pinned to the entrance of his grandfather's house, this sign was a sign for everyone in the village to see, indicating that a wedding was taking place there.

Those invited were expected to attend, and those not invited were expected to refrain from causing trouble or causing inconvenience at the party.

Entering his grandfather's yard, he saw rows of chairs neatly arranged on one side, with several tables set up on the other, filled with a variety of food.

The wedding was a buffet-style affair, with guests being invited to help themselves and then returning to their seats to enjoy their meal.

Jay and Ameno had a special area set aside for a small stage, where blessings were offered.

The meal lasted several hours, and finally, as the afternoon approached, the ceremony came to an end.

Ameno and Jay were then asked to remove their makeup and clothes as they prepared to meet Jay's parents.

When Ameno and Jay entered his grandfather's living room, they saw Jay's mother and father already waiting for them.

They sat on two chairs designated for blessing the newlyweds.

"Father, I ask for your prayers and blessings for my marriage," Jay said.

Lus knelt at his father's feet and asked for his blessing for their marriage.

Ameno, on the other hand, waited for her turn to ask for his blessing. "Okay, Dad will always pray for you and hope you will be a good man for your wife and family.

Remember, Jay, a man must be responsible for his family and must be able to provide for them spiritually and physically." His father then gave Jay some advice.

After that, Jay turned to his mother. "Mom, Jay asks for your blessing and prayers." Jay did the same thing as before to his mother.

"Okay, my handsome son, you are now married. I hope you will treat your wife and family well. Don't disappoint them or make them sad. Remember, your wife is someone who willingly shares your joys and sorrows with you, so take good care of her, because from her you will have a devoted son in the future." His mother again gave Jay some advice.

After expressing their gratitude, Jay and Ameno went to their grandparents' house to ask for their blessings and prayers. They also visited their uncle and aunt.

During the ceremony, their grandparents, uncle, and aunt gave them some advice and wedding gifts.

These included some money and coupons needed by newlyweds.

Afterward, Jay and Ameno were escorted back to Jay's house where they would spend their first night together.

Jay and Ameno would be escorted by their cousins to protect their wedding night from any unscrupulous people.

In return, Jay would give the cousins on guard duty during their wedding night small gifts as a token of appreciation for their service.

As Jay and Ameno arrived at Jay's room, a completely different room immediately came into view. The bed had been refurbished with new sheets and some decorations.

On the other side, there were several items piled in the corner of the bed, gifts from those closest to them and some of the villagers.

The rest of Jay and Ameno glanced at each other and sat down with shy expressions.

"Can I call you darling, Ameno?" Jay asked in a low, trembling voice. Jay was embarrassed, but he knew it was his wedding night, so he felt bolder.

"Um, yes, and I'll call you my husband soon," Ameno replied again.

"Then, let's go to bed," Jay invited Ameno.

"Um, but put out the candles first," Ameno replied in a softer voice.

(Don't be disappointed. There are no adult scenes, friends. We already know what that's like, so it's too awkward to talk about it. Maybe another time, if the author is interested, the romance aspect of the story will be added in the future.)
